• Does not save on Mybook after waking up

  My Macbook Pro recognizes my WD my book for Mac external hard drive when booting, and I can make manual backups.  However, after the computer wakes from sleep mode the backup fails and I should use WD Unlocker in the Finder menu to unlock the drive again.  But even after unlocking the drive, backup always fails and I get the message "unable to backup complete.   There's not much of a way to do this.  There are programs of "wake on lan" who can wake up a sleeping computer, but they require hard wire Ethernet connection and special software to do (that your printer is probably not the installer to do).

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  Thanks for the information!

  Since you have formatted the drive, you must be unable to return to the old operating system, unless you use recovery media.  You can find your product here recovery media:

  USB - Windows 8.1 Recovery Kit 64B

  You can try to use the recovery media to install the original operating system and see if the problem is resolved.  If you choose not to go down this path, you can try to re - install Windows 10, using the media creation tool.
