• Slider - setting through global variables

  Dear friends. Is it possible to change the "maximum value" on the module cursor externally, using the global variable?

  I am programming the communication with the shoot-syringe TSA and I need to change the range of rates according to the diameter used the syringe. I can make six different sliders for each diameter, but it is too inconvenient. Do you have someone has an idea?   They are exactly the same on the side slider (engine/SQL server). Same execution plan.

  The difference is on the side of the appellant (PL/SQL).

  Why the difference? Modularization.

  Usually, you set a cursor variable in PL/SQL as local. That means it can use local variables of PL/SQL for binding. No need to do so via the slider settings.

  However, there may be situations where the same cursor is used per unit of different code (procedures and functions). In this case, you won't have to duplicate the code in each unit of code and a cursor variable. You want modularize by creating a unique cursor variable that can be used by several units of code. In this case, the slider should be set to variable bind definable/usable by any unit of code, using the slider. Thus, you will set this slider with parameters. Code units can now call this reusable cursor using local variables and global variable to assign values to bind variables in the cursor.

• Master Slide - placeholder text in a Table

  I cannot place a placeholder text in a table on my model of slides is editable. Does anyone know if this feature is available in Keynote?

  • The placeholder text do not work in tables, enter the data directly in each cell of the table.
  • Tables should be placed on a slide, not a slide master.
  • If you need a table with the same formatting on each slide, set up the table on a slide then add a table style:

  Click on the table to select: Inspector > Format > Table , and then click the button "+"

  

• Hide various objects on different slides with the same tip Action

  I'm quite new to Captivate and because of that I'm fighting for the search feature, I need. I have a project of say 40 slides. On each slide, I have a button field on the left side guide and when clicked I have a window scroll from left to right, in the main frame of the window.

  Also on each slide is an object that displays specific information (usually in the form of text) with the previous buttons and following attached to it (its actually just a PNG image with the buttons "Previous" and "Next" with click boxes on them).

  The problem I have is when I click on the field guide that I want to hide this information object. I can easily do this in a tip for 1 slide action but when I want to the same tip action allows to always hide the information object of the current slide that I meet problems. If I was able to name objects of the same name is not a problem.

  The only "fast" solution I have is that each object information on each slide set to hide when I open the guide and then visible when I close the guide.

  Is their a better solution or does this supposed same matter?

  Why you not time the objects for the rest of the project, always on top? In this case, you will have an ID (I recommend you even a group). BUT: This means that you cannot use boxes to click but must spend much more flexible form buttons.

• Flashes of white between slides during playback?

  Need help desperate for a Sunday afternoon delivery.  I am experiencing very short white flashes between some of the screens in my exported project. How can I get rid of this!

  Here are the details.

  • Captivate 9.
  • For the latest version of Flash and HTML
  • Reading of a published locally (drive C).
  • No transition is not defined for the slides in the project.
  • No flicker seen between the slides that are static slides
  • Quick Flash white, seen reading between the slides which were both recorded in video mode (captivate exploded from the movie mode record in 6 second screens)
  • All slides, set to auto play the next slide.
  • Preloader % is set to 100.

  You can post settings? I do not see your answer to the question of the stem: are the slides 'video' FMR (former type, automatically created by Captivate when necessary) or slides of the video demo? Several users on this forum and in my experience, FMR slides really do work well for HTML output on devices. I avoid them when possible and replace them with video demo slides when I can't avoid them. It is still work, but the result seems to be more systematically work on all devices.

• Click the box until the rest of the slide in preferences does not work

  I have a problem with the click boxes in Captivate. I want that they should be lined up until the rest of the slide, but even when I set preferences accordingly, click areas always turn only 0.5 seconds and pause the project then. I don't want to put everything manually for the rest of the slide. How can I do?

  I am also a softwaresimulations with Adobe Captivate version 8.0.1.242.

  I think that what you notice that even if you set the attribute 'rest of slide' in preferences, when you save a simulation, this setting is ignored.

  I think that is simply how it works. What you configure it really applies only when you insert a click manually box.

  Fortunately, if you want that all the boxes to click on the 'rest of slide' setting, it is easy to achieve. Just find one in your project, click the timing tab and configure it, and then use the option 'apply to all '.

• Dynamic object does not appear at the time specified in the slide.

  Here's my problem: when I insert a bubble in the slide, set it to appear after 5.0 seconds and the display for the rest of the slide, it does not appear at the specified time. HOWEVER, if I move the speech bubble to appear from the BEGINNING of the slide, then it pops up. I thought that maybe I needed to add an effect to make it work, so I chose the thought bubble, and then add an effect of "fly in" and set the time. It will not always appear at a specified time - that if I put it at the beginning of the slide.

  Here's my question: why the smart object (bubble) does not appear at a specific time, but it will appear if I put the time "appear after" at 0 seconds? I also have tried to move this on the timeline and it still shows only at the beginning of the slide.

  I notice that you have a couple of what appear to be objects Button. I have highlighted them in the image below:

  

  Click on each of them and look at their properties. Change the "Timing" the break after is more than 8 seconds.

• Default slide quality optimized value

  Captivate v5.5

  Is there anyway to select the default settings of slides and all following slides added to a project?

  From what I see a project begins with the quality of each slide set as 'Low' and each slide added is also set by default to 'low '.

  I wish that all my slides 'Optimized' or 'High '.

  I know that I can select them all and change their quality as I go or later, but would be wise to allow that happen in Edit / Manager object styles or preferences at the beginning of the creation of a project.

  Maybe I'm missing the option...

  Hi Noel,

  There is no way in the object Styles, slides are not considered as objects.

  I do not know a way to define quality parameters to optimized before starting a project. You may already know, was so happy about this, but since 6.1 the default quality is now optimized.

  This can be changed in the preferences, and if you do this before you open a project, it will be applied to all future projects, is to go to SWF size & quality, uncheck "Save Slide quality" and set the High option (optimized isn't there). This will will not change the quality during editing, but once published, you have lifted for all slides.

• Several boxes of a slide is clicked

  Hello. I hope somone can help me understand how to solve a problem I have with Captivate 5.5. I have a course that is long 392 slide and contains no quiz slide. Slide 7 there are 8 images, and each has a click above area which branches off to another part of the course. The first 5 click boxes work, but no matter what I do the last 3 do not work. Currently, I have the length of the slide set for 4 seconds and each click box is put on pause the project selection until clicked. In addition, I have a tip Action Standard built in each area with the command click go to slide, and then the appropriate slide is selected for each.

  Are the slides that these three click boxes of jump to comes across in the second half of the project, perhaps towards the end?

  If Yes, then your problem is probably due to the fact that in order for Captivate access these slides when running it must return all the slides between the broad jump from the tip and the target slide.  Captivate does not work as if each slide is a web page and jump to one is not different to jump to another.  If you jump to a slide, not very far along the timeline, the rendering process takes a fraction of a second.  But more along the target slides are, the slower and more slow will be the jump.

  If this turns out to be your problem, your best solution may be to break to the top of your project into smaller projects.

• Adding background to a recorded slide

  Is it possible to add a background (as a master slide) to a slide that has been saved in Adobe Captivate? If so, how? I used a Master Slide set, and then I chose: "Insert-> record Slide... "I recorded the slide, but the interface seems to conflict with the background. Is there a way to remedy this?

  It is not an easy way to do what you want, as far as I know, but it can be done.  To my knowledge, Cp you cannot resize the registration area so that you can not adjust to fit within your content area in your slide masters.  The registration area is always the same size as your slides.

  When you save slides, the 'background' of what you save (in other words, static parts) are merged into the background of the slide and all other 'things' is on this backdrop (mouse, legends), highlights, etc.

  If it were me, here's what I'd do:

  (1) I would cut out the white space of your slide background is transparent.

  (2) I would manipulate the application window (if it's even possible at your request) then it will be good within the limits of my content area.

  (3) for the recording, move the zone check box (red outline) so there is the right amount of space above, below and next to the content area so that recording is part of the moment transparent 'window' of the slide.

  Note, step 3 would probably much trial and error to get it's perfect.

  (4) when the recording is finished, use the slides to the slide of record model.  The graphics for your master slide will be sitting on top of the recorded background (which should cover only is your behind/the application all about desktop or parts of the application window you care).

  Sorry I can't download screenshots (information security) or I'll try to help more.  There may be a different or easier way, but I'm not always known for doing things the easy way.  Hope that makes sense, let me know if not.

  The other option is you could take a bunch of static screenshots and manually build the slides.  Type of losses that can be the object of recording with captivate and it would take a lot of time, but it might also work.  I had to do it before we were to create a system that has not been built yet, it built out of models and models wired to it development and made all the data with the text boxes.

• Using a zoom on multiple slides area

  In Captivate 4, I would like a zoom area allows to highlight a series of actions that occur in a window.  This sequence has been captured by Captivate as several slides, so I created areas of focus on all of the slides (using the copy/paste) to zoom in the same area and display it in the same area.  On the first slide, I left the Zoom for the value default 0.8 second and on the following slides set it to 0,0 in the hope that the zoom area opens instantly, giving the appearance of a single zoom which remains open to all slides area.  But during playback (if an overview or a published project), the zoom animation happens at the beginning of each slide.  How can I avoid multiple zoom animations and just let the open zoom area?

  So far, I came up with two possible solutions. But I'm not sure no more one of them will do what you want.

  1. you can use the solution you tried where you see the really fast zoom to occur, but mask the zoom back by inserting an image or select the box in front of the area to hide so that only the short zoom occurs.

  2. you can use a slidelet that steps actions to occur in series on the slidelet timeline. In this way the zoom happen once. Here again, you could do the same thing by combining simply objects and images on a single slide and fail or to renounce the slidelet.

  From what you describe, you want the type of zoom provided by Camtasia Studio.

• The animation slides ignore content in flash published

  Dear assistants and experts,
  
  I may be new to Captivate, but have worked with all his predecessors...
  My simple demonstration consists of 6 slides:
  a text slide;
  a slide of animation built from an AVI (123 sec);
  a text slide;
  a slide of animation built from an AVI (23 sec).
  a text slide;
  a slide of animation built from an AVI (165 s)
  
  When the preview of all content is indicated. Then I publish (HTML export). The flash seen ignores the end of all the slides in the animation: from the beginning that 107 seconds are displayed, from the second 10 seconds, are displayed in the third only 110 seconds.
  
  To be more precise on the previw: this is the reading on the timeline where everything is played - not 'play this Slide' button in the Preview button - that creates a temporary file to flash.
  
  With uncompressed Flash, it's the same problem.

  I have now found the source of my problem:

  There is a difference if I insert via
  (1) insert > slide > animation Slide - or
  (2) insert > Slide white; and then in the blank slide: Insert > Animation

  Case 2, I get the "New Animation" dialog box where I can configure options. In case 1, that this dialog box does not display upward and with properties to slide the desired option not adjustable.

  The option to cure the problem is "synchronize with the project.
  The help text for this option "select this option to synchronize the speed at which the animation file plays with the speed of timeline. (If you find that the animation file is not playing smoothly, test with this option selected and cleared to see which setting gives you better results) ». has not triggered my brain first, because during playback (any avi) animation in the timeline, it is displayed properly with or without this option.

  So: If the final flash file ignores the end of imported animations (e.g. avi) and early moves to the next slide:

  -Import the animation in a blank slide (do not import via Insert > Slide > animated slides)
  -Set the option "Synchronize with the project" in the dialog box "new Animation.

• An Audio Clip to multiple slides

  I've been using Captivate for quite awhile now. During the days of Captivate 2, I could take an audio clip that has been lasts 10 seconds, for example, place it on a slide, set this slide to be long, 1 second during the execution of the project, the audio would play in the following slides. Basically, it made things easier when you were explaining a concept and want to have project type in a field at the same time.
  
  My problem is that I could not reach this Captivate 3. Is there an audio setting that I'm not aware?

  Hi Doug

  The option must still exist. I remember well, it's one that you choose at the time wherever you insert the audio clip. Since you seem not to be seen, I guess that your audio clip is the same or less time than the slide where you want to insert. It is key, as the audio clip should be longer than the slide on which you are placing it in order to display the dialog box. In addition, the slide cannot be the single slide or the last slide. After all, if this is the case, there is no other slides to use.

  Thus, when you try to use audio as long as the slide, you should see a dialog box with three options. The option first (or higher) simply tells Captivate to set the slide duration to match the clip.
  The second (or middle) option tells Captivate to open a different dialog box allowing you to choose where the clip will break the next day however several slides. And the third (or low) option tells Captivate simply insert the clip, leave any single timing and let it break through the other slides where he's going.

  You can also talk the option to edit the schedule for the whole project. To display this dialog box in Captivate 3, click the Audio > Edit Timing > project. Once this dialog box appears, you have little sliders that allow you to adjust where the audio breaks through the slides.

• iPad does not connect to the server

  Kind of, it looks like my iPad has disappeared and twisted his tail (connection) and got lost somewhere in cyberspace.

  Yesterday morning he opens to the screen Hello > Slide Set up who brought up the screen 'could not activate iPad' with the message "your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is not reachable. Try to connect the iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact Apple Support at apple.com/support".

  This condition actually began three days when it does not connect to my Airport wireless internet and I could not he deleted.  I made the troubleshooting on the dome using Airport utility that showed connections to the top and the green. My main computer is not affected. I was able to put a return by making a total system power off for a few minutes and then turned on one at a time with the modem (cable) beginning (all equipment - computers, iPad, modem and airport), then the airport, my main computer (2003 iMac screen all-in-one flat) then the dome of the iMac. They are all restored correctly at full speed. At the point where I was interested only in the dome as I was doing some work on it using Classic applications and did not activate the iPad until the most late in the evening.

  I was wondering what is happening and if there is an inexpensive way to get it running again?
