  Yes, you should be able to reinstall, but if you can you should disable before resetting the machine.  Otherwise, if the two license activations were used and no reset you will need to contact Adobe Support by chat and ask them to reset your activations.

• Pavilion DV6 - Freaky blockages, probs even after factory reset

  I have a machine that currently gives me fits customers...

  It's a Pavillion DV6, specifically a M6-1045dx.  He got 8G of RAM and the HARD drive is full of barely 10%.  When I got the machine, he would refuse to run some executable files (most had IE) and anything requiring a UAC elevation cause the application is high (command prompt, Task Manager, etc.) to lock.  Scanned with MS Sec Essentials and spybot... even out the hard drive and scanned with AVG in another PC of office... None of them can find nothing.  I noticed that after I let it sit for a while (30-45 minutes), it gives an error and say a few words about support assistant having to close.  I tried to close all the HP services, but nothing helped.  CHKDSK /F does not give any errors, and the BIOS HP diags gave a certificate of good health.  I couldn't "show processes from all users" in the Task Manager (Task Manager would freeze whenever I tried).  In addition, the system seems to work fine in SafeMode w/network.

  I finally lifted my hands and did a reset (Note: I don't have the minimal reset).  Who took most of the night running.  Then, I made a full round of microsoft updates.  Note that the system was very well throughout the reconstruction process.  Then I restored the owners (1 piece of court reporter software) applications and some data (especially text files and audio files of deposits).  The system ran fine for another 5 boots - two hours.   The last thing I did was to install MS Security Essentials... and he gave me a certificate of good health after update.   I closed the thing and and let stand until the customer arrived there.   The minute that I pulled up, he began to show the same signs as before the factory reset.

  Support Assistant does not start... it's welcome screen just sitting there.  Internet Exlporer will start or the other.  If put in place processes in the Task Manager and click on 'view of the processes for all users', the Task Manager is locked in.  Command prompt oneself too if you do a "run as Administrator".   The owner tells me that if you let the machine sitting (when running) for 30-45 minutes, which will be suddenly started working.   Since then, I tried Kaspersky TDSSKiller to see if it was a rootkit, but he did not find anything there either.

  Anyone encountered this before?  Is there something that I need to update, re - install or uninstall?

  If anyone knows this, it seems that it is a Microsoft Update that threw a wrench in the works.  After a 3rd plant, he went through a whole series of updates, then failed on the last series of 8 or more.   I did a system restore and looked at the 3 updates... do a search on all of their numbers.  Of course, there are a ton of develops griping on KB2870699, alias, "Cumulative security for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 X 64 systems based on.   Delete this update, or run system restore and it réécrirait where it was before you ran it.  I hope this helps some other poor soul avoid the epic hassle he put me in...

  We had a trouble that started with the laptop does not not on one day. We managed to turn it on, but now there is no wifi.

  In programs and features I see there is a driver Broadcom "installed" but there is no version and there is no file size. I deleted and tried to reinstall a new driver, but that stops at half way through and doesn't seem to work.

  In device manager there is no sign of a wifi device, it's as if it disappeared completely.

  I tried all types of factory reset, same one that completely resets all doesn't seem to work.

  I have no way to connect the laptop to the internet because there is no Ethernet cable port. So I downloaded the driver on a memory stick from another computer and it stuck in the said laptop - no joy.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  If you wifi does not appear in Device Manager, that this means that the map does not work or is not connected properly.

• Slow start - even after aggressive recovery - how to solve?

  We evaluate Berkley DB for Java and we are facing problem that the recovery time is very very slow.

  We first tried to speed up the recovery by using je.checkpointer.highPriority, je.checkpointer.wakeupInterval, etc. - no luck - stil startup is very inefficient. It takes about 4 hours to recover and begin 10 data bases each which has less than 10 M records.

  So in order to understand the problem, we have built a little test app which will control point and clean records in the application main thread (and disable the control point and cleaner discussions). We have what we call bdbEnv.checkpoint (checkpointConfig) with setMinimizeRecoveryTime and setForce.

  Once the recovery was super slow: even if we ask bdbEnv.cleanLog and bdbEnv.checkpoint each 3000 sets. Each file is less than 1 KB of long - keys of the uniq.  Note that, in our test, each thread has its own database handle and its own transaction to add recordings.

  Now, the interesting thing we noticed during startup (i.e. this environment recovery) reading the application rate was * only * 4 KB/s - and the machine running the test was completely idle (quad core with quad-core).

  Thanks for the display of the error. The exception will prevent the checkpoints, resulting in long recoveries.

  We assume it's a bug I at this point. We'll fix it for the next version of patch (Q3), under the bug number [#22631].

  Please note that it would occur only when a database is created and no record is ever inserted. A work around is to delete these databases, if they are not needed, or write a single record after their creation and delete or abandon the txn. Do you plan to give this work around a try? This way you can help us confirm the work and that our assumption is accurate.

• Firefox running slow, even after the reset AND reinstalled

  For the last several days that Firefox has worked really slow. When I open a new window it takes about 20-30 seconds to open an or if I try to load a site with flash (say for example of youtube) it takes time to load the site and you can not click anything, like back, address bar or even the X to close the window.

  I have scanned for viruses and found nothing. I thought it was my computer when Firefox started to slow down, but I opened Opera and Saferi to see what it looked like and they are fine. Works very well. If I restart the computer, Firefox works fine for say 2 hours before you start to slow down slowly again over time (about 5 hours later it is uber slow!). I also reset Firefox that again gave the same result as the computer restarts, very well for a few hours before starting to slow down again. Reinstalled Firefox, but again it's very well for a few hours.

  I don't know what to do. Firefox is my main browser, but I can't continue to use it like that because it takes forever to do anything.

  So, I came across a problem that I hit an absolute impasse. I will list it first, then I will follow it with various methods, I tried to solve it.

  The phone in question is a 7931G, I can't tell you what software to boot, he's trying to boot from because it does not go far enough in the boot, treat for me to say.   What's happening: the phone starts the boot process and go to the screen that says "Update"... "and then, quickly, it flashes on the screen that she asked ' term31.default.loads... 0% "and then it starts to boot (Cisco logo appears)." On the bottom left where it usually shows a box with a check mark, it now shows a full circle in a slightly larger circle. He sat at the splash screen for about 2 minutes, stop and try to move on once more.

  I do not know what boot image he used before the factory reset, but this time around his supposed to pull the image of "SCCP31.9 - 1 - 1SR1S.loads. I read in a separate thread support the first 7931 must be upgraded to "SCCP31.8 - 5-4 S .loads" before he can start from 9.x software. So I tftp had the entire folder 7931 Sogiciel 8.2 UC540 to the UC540. I created the entries of the tftp server and alias and set the 7931 load newly downloaded software. Nothing. (The newly downloaded had the corresponding term31.default.loads of the file that was pointed toward the 8.5.4 files).

  I rolled back the UC540 everything back to 8.2 Sogiciel, with all the default configurations. Connected to an another phone 7931 (currently logged in as my personal and registered phone CUCM), than the phone registered car very well. I assigned it lines, performed test calls and all of the features worked as expected. 7931 issues, however, remained with the same problems.

  I tried to connect the problematic 7931 to CUCM of office, but the problem has prevailed without worrying what port I used.

  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My goal here is to get the phone to properly initialize and eventually to register with the UC540.

  the problem was that I was holding the tablet in portret orientation while it starts.

  So, I've ACCIDENTALLY keep it in LANDSCAPE mode, and voila! He seized the allowed parameters. So easy!
