Smartphone 8520 Wifi blackBerry wont turn on

I get a problem with my wifi its doesn't turn is not on. I tried several times but fail every time

Usually when this happens, it is a hardware failure in the device.  It can't be fixed without doubt.

In addition, I notice that you have your phone number listed in your profile. It is not advisable to display your phone number there for all the Internet to see and possibly harvest for use of spam. Top of the page click on my settings and access personal information and delete your phone number.

  • Problems of Smartphones with WIFI blackBerry without a data package (network of curve 8520 O2 - UK)

    Hi all

Sorry if it sounds a little vague but a buddy of mine has one just entered into the world of the blackberry and some problems, so I thought that I try and help out. It is not the data packet at the moment (trying to persuade, but thinks he can take the time lol) and attempts to use the wifi on the phone to access the internet at home. The phone is connected to its network and has received an IP address but still does not seem to let you browse the web.

The browser settings have changed to the hotspot browser and I think the preference of connection has been replaced by a preferred WI - fi connection. Are there settings I can change that I may have missed that could help or is it something that has been locked by O2 to make you buy the data service?

    Thanks for any help.

    Robb

If you have the hotspot active browser, should all needed.

Go in manage connections > in the first section, to WiFi, is the WiFi network name listed, and what is right, a green check mark, dash white or what?

Now click on manage connections > status of Services. What is next to the heading "WiFi network", active profile, etc.?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Pocketmac for Blackberry wont run... help...

OK, I'm new to Blackberry.  I am still new on the mac.  I installed pocketmac for Blackberry and its drivers.  He ran and tried to do a sync.  The 8330 and macbook could establish a bluetooth pairing but could not bind.  After the closure of pocketmac, I tried to re-open it and now it does not open.   I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.  So, no, I'm stuck and humbly ask for any help, is there.  Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

    Article:
"PocketMac for BlackBerry smartphones does not support Bluetooth technology."

I would try the following procedures to remove and install the program (links attached).

Also included a "how to" for the use of Diagnostics logging. Try looking at the Blackberry for Mac forums for more information.

Let us know how it goes!

I don't have a sim card, and the device is not unlocked.

well at first I had free wifi, I have updated the operating system a few times, wipe the unit more than necessary and made battery pull... always had free wifi for more than 3 months. made with any kind of data plan.

I called tmobile to request a release. I had the race to go to the EDGE of aid. the next day, I have no wifi. I try to turn on the check mark disappears, the red x connection notification is turned off never turns green on.

not only that my mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:00.

I want only free wifi for use domestic, I just got in development for smartphones of bb. This device is only intended a portible workspace to write code, test apps and simulators on the go, so I can learn more about this business. can someone help me get rid of my wifi bug. highly appreciate.

I also went to oracle Sun to try to find the jsr is trying to create a "custom" to my pc connection.

using my pc to provide transmittions data on my phone of Sam s, that my pc is now connected to by connection "custom". I've been pulling back to see if my project messed up my adapter wifi, or if this has worked, but maybe just that I received no coding for it, or bad coding on my part.

my project has worked on several simulators, as well on cell phones brands. I don't set problem over and over again working on it. When I get this all understood, I'll post.

Yes, if you turn off your mobile connection to your mobile operator, the signal goes off and you will only be able to use the WiFi for internet connection.

  • WiFi repeatedly itself turns on

    Hello

I feel this may seem difficult to some people, but I'm really annoyed on habit of my Macbook Pro set wireless market, whenever I restart the machine! I use an ethernet connection and of course want to continue down this path after a simple reboot or a full stop. However, OS X seems to prefer the WiFi and it turns on again.

I turned off the WiFi in system preferences and also changed the order of services (Ethernet first, 2nd WiFi). Nothing works at all.

By the way: WiFi connection is necessary for my iPhone, of course. While turn off don't do me no good.

    Thanks in advance!

    In your preferences of same

 > System Preferences > network >Advanced > require permission of SMA > activate the WiFi on or off check the box

  • Impossible to activate the WIFI button to turn it on there is gray and unresponsive.

WiFi worked very well on my HP TC4000. Now, it illuminates, either by function or switch side key.

Device Manager says it works very well.  It is activated.  (I tried the turn off/on a couple of times, but made no difference).

The Windows Mobility Center confirms that the unit is off.  The button to turn it on there is gray and is unresponsive.

OT: My WiFi won't turn on

    Marine salvation,

I suggest you contact HP support to check if there is no hardware switch which disabled.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones USE FOR CURVE 8520 WIFI

I recently bought a blackberry curve 8520 with Fido. My phone is connected to my wifi at home, but I want to assure you that I'm strictly using data NOT wifi (because I don't have a data plan). I noticed that in a network public wifi, a red asterisk * - appears on the WiFi icon in the upper right of the phone. Like this:

(the WiFi symbol is surrounded to demonstrate what I mean when I say WiFi symbol and the asterisk appeared like this)

However on my home network, if it says it is connected, the asterisk does not appear. As you can see it it says "Fido-peanut" (my router name) which means that Yes, I'm "connected..." BUT without the red asterisk on the wifi symbol (with my home WiFi) does that mean that I am not connected correctly?  I called Fido and the CSR said she thinks she has something to do with login password in public WiFi, but she's not sure.

The problem seems to be this: when I go on 'The Mobile Network Options' to activate ""data services ' OFF(to make sure that I am only using wifi and no data), the connection fails and I get this message: "

When I turn it on, I am able to connect.

    For ""connection preference ": "

what setting should I put if I don't want to use any WIFI data BUT?  Yes, the obvious answer would be to choose "WI - Fi" only, but this means that I won't be able to call/text because my mobile connection turns off.

So, how can I make sure I'm really only using wifi and not data when both the data service is turned ON and my wifi is 'connected '?

It is a list of what I've done:

    (1) the HOTSPOT USER - check.

    (2) insterted PIN provided by the phone to my dlink router (via online)

    (3) tried the push button configuration

    (4) restarted my router/modem

    5) there is a check mark next to the WiFi connection:

It would seem that I am connected to Wifi, but again, to reiterate, that I would like to ask if the WiFi is the ONLY thing I use and not data.

    Thank you!

It's pretty simple... IF you are connected to your network Mobile disabled (no phone calls or SMS) you will use ONLY WiFi. Only. As long as you have the 'white' dashboard and the name of the network "green peanut butter", you are connected to WiFi, but without BIS BlackBerry data services.

If you disable Data Services, you will not be able to use data in any form (via WiFi or Mobile network, if it is enabled.)

No BlackBerry data plan, you will be able to use the WiFi hotspot browser and some few third-party apps like Pandora radio.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Let me try and parse your sentence without punctuation of 76 Word and see if I can understand what are your questions...

    dannyandringa wrote:

    I have a problem

I think that this is your first sentence...

    dannyandringa wrote:

I can not conect to 2 wireless access points that have the same ssid it tells me to replace the one other than my router at home and at work are the same, I have to remove the one that made me enter the password all the time are there no way to change this

    I think you meant:

I can not connect to 2 wireless access points that have the same ssid. He tells me to replace the one that my router at home and at work are the same. I have to remove the one that made me enter the password all the time. No there is no way to change this?

So, with this now readable survey, I suspect that the BB stores each WiFi network as the network SSID. That would mean no duplicates allowed in this profile on the BB database. I can find no documentation backup, but the behavior you're seeing, it's a reasonable assumption.

To deal with it, I suggest change you the SSID on your router so that it is unique and, therefore, can store a separate profile on your BB and keep all the credentials.

    dannyandringa wrote:

Also app world does not work on my mobile, why it's a smartphone right bb so why can't I use it?

For that, I think that you meant:

App world does not work on my mobile. Why? It is a smartphone from bb right? So why can't it use?

Don't I have that right? If so, please check this page to ensure that you meet the minimum requirements (including if it is available in your country):

If it is available in your country and you feel you meet the requirements at the level of the device, and then contact your provider to make sure you meet the requirements of the plan (to them) access (via their network) service to AppWorld.

Finally, know that AppWorld is simply a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. Therefore, it is not your exclusive supply source - there are others that you can try (e.g., Handango, Handmark, BPlay, GetJAR and Mobihand). I found that there are very few applications that is exclusive to AppWorld. You can see the online catalogue and then look for other sources of supply, including quite often on the developer website.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8520 - WiFi works not

    Hello

I tried everything I read on the forums to get the WiFi connection works, but I could not:

    * reset the BB by removing the battery

try different security settings for the WiFi, including disabling security

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

I suggest you reboot your home router... do you know how?

Normally, you remove the electrical connection at the back of the router and the data cable in, both for a minute, replace and the router will be reset.

  • WiFi blackBerry Smartphones Curve 9300 3 problem

    Hi, I recently got my first Blackberry - a 9300 3.

It seems impossible to connect to my home network via WiFi. I've implemented the BB with a manual setting that I have a non-broadcast SSID and password is correct. My router is a Netgear DG834GT. I have a laptop connected via WiFi so I don't know the router, WiFi & DSL is all operational.

I can sporadically, but not systematically, ping the router of the BB, but I can't ping a web address (for example google.com). I can't ping the BB from my PC, but an IP Scanner confirms that the BB is on the network.

My career has suggested a reboot, reinstall the firmware and turn WiFi off & on - everything I did.

I'm very knowledgeable PC, reasonably network aware, but a complete newbie to BB and smartphones.

    Any ideas?

Well, I've sorted - or rather Geek Squad pointed me the right direction.

It seems that the phone does not like the standard security WPA - PSK Protocol. While the router is recognized, the phone cannot communicate through the router.

Change the wireless security protocol on the router to WPA2-PSK has solved the problem. Of course, if you do this you must also change the Security Protocol on all your other devices on the wireless network, or else they may not work.

  • My menu wifi blackBerry smartphones is broken

My menu wifi is broken and rely on the wifi network menu... only an empty box with exclamation is delivered with an ok in it.

Works previously configured and saved wifi.

Please give a solution to this.

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Good luck and let us know!
