Hey. I have a 7290 I got back in the day and love it. My life is in this Organizer memory bit.

My question is this - if I drop the voice plans and data on this unit, can I still use it as a PDA?

I am considering getting a phone from my provider wireless for a while.

Do not forget and make a backup.  It's an old device and you never know when it can up and die on you (even if the 7290 is one of the most difficult BB devices ever built.)

    There is an older version of BlackBerry Desktop Software.  As it is no longer available on our download site, you may be able to get elsewhere on the internet or on the original CD that came with your BlackBerry 7290.  BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.0, 4.1 or 4.2 would be sufficient.
