  Recently, we changed our architecture around a bit of the APEX. Previously we used the Oracle HTTP server on the same host as the database. Now we pass the 'web' part of the APEX to another server using ADR with Apache TomCat. Under the old configuration, we have been able to send emails without any problem. However, when we try to do under the new configuration, we get the following SMTP error stack:

  I would have thought that email would still go database server in the new configuration but, perhaps, it's fake.

  When configure you the new application server, you MUST have reconfigured APEX, correct?  So you can have the apex_mail settings not the same as the old installation.

  It is an SMTP error that according to me. It seems to me that you configure the option "Authenticate against SMTP server" in the book, but your SMTP requires no authentication.

  Not possible using UTL_MAIL, but if you roll your own using UTL_SMTP (which is what UTL_MAIL is written on the top) you can use the code fragment in Metalink Note 201639.1 to connect to a SMTP server using AUTH LOGIN.

  Log on to the e-mail account on the website and see if there is a security setting, you can change. I can't be more specific. Refer to the documentation of the service provider.

  If there is no adjustment, convince the upgrade of server securityserver administrator. He or she must do it anyway. Low security affects all customers, not only Mac users.

  Otherwise, you have all the right options to continue to use Mail with the service. You can disable SSL in the Advanced account settings, but that is very dangerous and may not work at all.

  You might be able to get a more flexible mail client, such as "Thunderbird", to accept the low security, or perhaps you can access the account via webmail.

  Ideally, you should switch to a provider of postal services better. You would not have this problem with a well-run service. The risk of weak SSL are known for a long time, and to competent server administrators have already taken the simple steps are sufficient to avoid these risks.

  Start a terminal and type:

  The result will be a confirmation of the new configuration.

  50000000 is about 50 MB.

  Could use REALLY help!  I recently moved and changed to ATT U-verse Internet service.  I'm trying to continue to use Outlook Express for e-mail.  Used OE for more than 10 years without any problem on 2 different cable operators.  After changing the settings of accounts / start ATT U-verse Guide, I can't send or receive email.  phone support (ESL) level 1 has failed several times to share control and told her level 2 that he was 'out of their reach!  Looks like they give bad information about the settings as ATT servers (actually Yahoo!) simply reject access.
