SMU-5606 Enable noise Source Power

Hello!  I'm writing a measure of noise figure using the ASB SMU-5668R, which has an SMU-5606 inside.  There is a noise 28V output Source I can use to connect to a source of noise.  I looked through the drivers NOR-DAMA and succeeded in finding a property node (niRFSA-> Device Specific-> 5606-> noise activated energy Source) where I can wire an enumerated type constant (enabled/disabled) to fight against it.

If I connect a DMM to 28V output and toggle this property node, I see not 28V light.  Are there more code that must be used to correctly set up the source of noise the 5606 28V output?  I enclose a VI test I use to solve problems.

Thank you!

Hello

You must add a call to niRFSA Commit.vi following toggle to validate the parameter (which is cached) hardware.

I hope this helps!

I'm guessing there is a switch or a jumper inside the PXI, a know where or you can give me a link to a manual...?

    Hi Kobi Kalif,

If I understand you correctly, you want to on your frame when your line is under tension of your chassis?  If you want to replace the power switch on your chassis, you can set the switch to disable on the back of your chassis to "manual".  This will allow your chassis to power on automatically as soon as the line is energized. To learn more about this option and other options, see the Article knowledge base I linked below.

It is an iPod nano?  First of all, try to do a Reset (reboot) on iPod, if you have not already.

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support

If this does not help, you can try using the command to reset all the settings on the iPod.  Go to the screen of the iPod on board settings .  The choice at the bottom of the parameters should be reset (or reset all settings).  This puts all the parameters on board to the default value.

If this does not help, he can you want to do a restore on the iPod using iTunes.  This erases iPod, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.  The restore button is on the recapitulation of the iPod settings screen in iTunes.

  • Satellite A100-036 - disturbing noise from power supply

    Hello!

I use Satellite A100-036. Lately, I've noticed a whistling top-height standard adapter Toshiba coming, sort of some fluorescent lamps do, only much quieter.

Yet, the adapter is on the table near the laptop, is disturbing. The character changes with the activity of the laptop (as the disk in use).

Should I be worried, or is it OK?
As I remember, there was no this sound when I bought it (2 years ago).

    Thank you!

My adapter was defective. The cable broke and similar high-pitch whistles was so noticeable.
I replaced the adapter because as Akuma said already this device uses high voltage and shouldn't t serve if she s defective!

    Welcome them

  • Heat source connected to power supply continuous

I am currently trying to simulate a circuit with different op amps connected together. Input voltage, that I use to start amplifier is a low voltage supply. My problem arises when I want to induce noise in the input voltage. I tried to use the source of THERMAL_NOISE connected to the DC supply, similar to two different power supplies in parallel. However, when I try to run the simulation I get an error of convergence. The circuit works quite well with just the DC source or just the source of thermal noise. When connected together, something goes wrong. Someone at - it never had a similar situation or know a good work-around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you have two sources n parallel, it can cause the error of convergence is a SPICE.  To correct the problem add a little resistance at between sources.

I do not think that the noise source will make a difference in this case, most of the SPICE models model noise.

  • Random EM noise filtering of a big motor 3 phases?

    Hi all

First of all, an overview of the system: we have a system for the acquisition of data running Labview, two cards PCI-6225, a PCI-6224 and a card PCI-6254.  All connections made sink SCB-68 terminals.  All power supplies for instrumentation and the series through closets DAQ isolation transformers.  In addition, most of the lines are the lines of the shielded twisted pair and are run from the test table for blocks of DAQ connection through conduit to the ground. The signals that we have problems with are measured to 1kS/s per channel on the cards PCI-6225.

In normal operation, the signals are clean.  Where we have problems, it's with a test set, we need to run where we use a big motor 3 phases used to drive an engine test of rotating machines.  The table is bolted to the same large metal table as the test instrumentation.  When the engine turns, our data own nice becomes a fuzzy caterpillar in anger.  The noise does not appear to be a specific frequency and in raw data, it appears as a single-point, relatively high amplitude blips.  I would say overall amplitude is 10 s of mVs.

A low-pass filter of material removed a large amount of noise, but we do not have enough hardware filters for each channel.  I tried to use a software filter (Butterworth with entries that are similar to the hardware filters) and he smooth to blips and decreases their overall amplitude, but is not nearly as effective as the filter material.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hunter

    Hi all

I wanted to just give some closure on it.  After trial and error and a lot of phone calls to businesses VFD, we have reduced the noise source to the inverter.  The difficulty (and more than 98% of the noise is now gone) is a Sin on the output wave filter (go through the engine) and a reator on the entry (from the power of the installation).  If you want not spent a lot of money on a filter air sin, just put a reactor on the output of the inverter reduces the noise nearly 80%.

Best regards and thanks for the help!

  • DC motor NI SMU-1071

    Hello!

I use actually NI SMU - 1071.The input source that's it but my requirement is power to the top of my SMU by DC Input. Can u suggest any solutions of distribution of power as the converters DC / DC or modules with multi voltage levels meet the power requirements of SMU.

You will need a converter to do this.  We do not sell these and so I can't give a specific recommendation, but you want to make sure that you do not have an inverter of low quality.  It can cause problems if the THD (total harmonic distortion) is greater than 5%, or has a single harmonic with THD 3% higher.  It is also the standard for sockets in the United States.

For this chassis, the max power is ~ 250W, so I would say that can handle at least get 300W to reflect losses and the environmental conditions.

  • iPhone 6 has ran out of battery juice, but won't turn on after connecting the power cable.

    Hello.

I have an iPhone SIMless 6 (iOS v9.3.2) who missed the battery nothing to juice and turn off the power. I plugged the white USB power cable to a Windows laptop, but nothing happened. No power on, sounds, etc. I even tried another power cable and the source (power supply AC adapter and cable for the iPad). I don't even know if it is supported or not.

    Thank you in advance.

If it is disabled on its own because of lack of power, it will take some time before he can return to the top.

Plug it in and leave there for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Videos YouTube does NOT play if media.mediasource.enabled is set to true (Youtube with HTML 5 Player). WHY?

When you watch videos on Youtube, I use the new HTML 5 player. It works fine when media.mediasource.enabled is set to 'false', but then I can't have the full experience because that lack of features!

If I let no. video will load, which means that I can't watch any video on Youtube!
As a solution, I installed the Plugin "Youtube Control Center" (missing in the list below). But it would be nice if I don't use this...

Even better would be if Firefox would be supported WebM. But this doesn't seem to be the case since YT uses exactly this Format with its new player... (And if I activate this media.mediasource.enabled (put "true") nothing works more.)

Firefox plays the 'old' WebM format in its default configuration (media.mediasource.enabled = false). You can check it out here: http://www.webmfiles.org/demo-files/.

What I've read, turn on MediaSource will allow you to play the "new" WebM on YouTube from Firefox 31. Even if preference exists in Firefox 30, I don't think that the actual code is there, which would explain why this ability to YouTube advertising causes the blackout.

  • Satellite L850 - weird noise problem (not events)

    Hello

I have a weird problem with my laptop. Since a few days, my laptop started to make a little noise from the base of the laptop.
I care because during the day I don't even notice, but now (it's 05:00)
Clearly, I hear a noise coming from the base.

It has not happened before and I don't know what could be, because the strangest thing is that, according to Toshiba Health Monitor, fan is 0% (because I'm on mode eco and do nothing to do) and the CPU is at 48th. As you can imagine, my laptop is far from heating.

Then, where this noise could come from?
Now, I know that this isn't the ventilation openings, but something inside the laptop (maybe HARD drive?)

And I'm confident in the vents because the vents start to operate when I load a movie or game, and when start knocking noise that I do not speak of persists.

It's not embarrassing, because I have to be in complete silence to hear it. As I said, I don't notice the noise when it is diurnal, and I could live with it, but not knowing this noise source makes me a bit paranoid. I bought a month ago, so I don't think that I have to clean.

    Thank you.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to tell where the noise is coming so if you want to solve this problem I think you should bring to the nearest post of Toshiba and the guy there it should check. Guarantee is valid if repairs must be free.

Can you tell us what part of your laptop is this noise?

  • Qosmio X 500 does not start and the power LED is flashing every 5 seconds

    Hello
I need help my X 500 does not start now. I tried to launch the NB as usual and suddenly the X 500 start or even power up.

If I press the power button / stop it makes no noise, the power LED on the button and the second power LED just bliks once and turns on and keep blinking every 5 seconds.

    I tried to:
    * Remove battery and power up with AC only
    * power only to batteries
    * remove the battery power button hold for 30 seconds and over power with AC, battery only athen

    but it did not help.

I checked the LEDs AC & battery, but they do not blink, they are just RED, so there is no problem in battery or AC.

No idea where could be the problem?

    Hello

The failure of RAM could be the reason for this behavior of the laptop.
Remove the RAM modules with good modules tested and check the functionality of the laptop.
In the case of RAM isn t the troublemaker, the motherboard could be affected.

Good luck and share your experience with us.

  • Power Manager BUG?

    Hi people;

I have a x130e on Windows 7 (x 64) with Power Manager installed 6.68.8 with the Lenovo Power Management driver (from the same package).

What I see is that the always on function USB does not work. It is enabled in the BIOS and enabled in the power management.

But, on the way of troubleshooting, I noticed something about the power management program and wonder if there is a bug.

If I go in the global settings of power and enable always on USB but that also, even when the computer is off, then click on apply, check marks remain. However, as soon as I shut off Power Manager and then re - start, the check marks are gone. They disappear.

The same thing happens with the beep when power state changes button. Even if, with this one, it looks like the feature rest after restarting the App (I can hear it).

I guess you can imagine that the always on USB troubleshooting feature made much more difficult when the Soft Power Manager seems to lose the settings after you close the program.

A confirmation or ideas would be appreciated. I uninstalled the program and re-installed and rebooted the computer - same thing.

UPDATE > I went all the way back to version 6.38 and I see the same behavior - the settings are not enabled between sessions of Power Manager.

Nevermind, I solved the problem by removing the Power Manager software...

Not the greatest witness, it's course...

  • SMU, used for the measurement of current

    Hello

I need to measure current in the range 5 to exit 10uA by a current source PIN. I would have usually connected PXI4065 on this PIN and measured current. But in this case the current to be measured is low.

I have EMS 4130, which has high accuracy of current measurement to 200mA range (0.03%+0.02)uA.

Can I use the current part of the EMS (CH1) measurement to measure current? What should I activate CV outputs (Hi = 0V) who appears in the soft front panel?

Or just without activating the outputs I can measure the current sink. The program of flexible panel displays current measurements, but I don't know if the EMS can be used like that.

    Thank you

Not sure NI SMEs, as I have not had the chance to use it yet.  SMU of Agilent could be used this way, so I guess with OR as well.  You must use out SMU in constant voltage source / I measure mode.  Would you say the SMU to hold the voltage at 0V, and allow current to the sink (or source) as necessary to maintain this 0V output.

  • Why NOT-9233 with IEPE micro report 39dBA as a minimum noise level?

    Hello

I used an ACO Pacific 1/2 "microphone and preamp (7052SYS) with cDAQ IEPE and 9233 IEPE module. The microphone of the COA is very similar to the 46AE G.R.A.S. (50 mV/Pa) but with sensitivity 20 mV/Pa. With this facility in a hemi-anechoic room, the NPA is reported as on 39dBA (using audio and vibration standard "meter" VI). Again, the third laboratory signals Analyzer reports the House about 25dBA. I partially checked installation OR with a 1 kHz, 114dB Sizer. Putting in place OR says about 114.3dBA. We are so on the money there.

Is there a background noise on the 9233 I treat? Any thoughts? Recently, my company has built its own hemi-anechoic and we love the tools NOR. We had hoped to use the newer 9234 with a chassis cDAQ since the 51.2 kech / s is sufficient for our range of 20 to 20 kHz. We already use it cDAQ widely here.

    Thank you

    -JD

    The 9233 plug:

    Integrating the density of noise:
Weighted power = (factor of a power of weighting for bandwidth) * (bandwidth) * (noise level) ^ 2
    Weighted power = (0.53) * (20-20000 Hz) * (400 nV / sqrt (Hz) / 20 mV / Pa) ^ 2
    Weighted power = 4.26u Pa ^ 2 rms
    (Weighted) Leq = 2.06 m Pa rms DB 40.2 (a) ref 20u Pa

Calculation of noise at full scale:
FS = voltage range / sensitivity
    FS = (5 / sqrt (2)) V rms / (20 mV / Pa) = 176.8 Pa rms = 138.9 dB ref 20u Pa
    Noise 138.9 DB ref 20u Pa - 95 dB FS - 2.73 DB(a) = 41.2 DB(a) ref 20u Pa

So the fact that you are reading 39 DB(a) indicates your 9233 noise meets the specifications. There is always a problem that it takes efforts to better reflect the range of the signal on the input of the 9233 range. You can add some signals external conditioning apply pregain (20 dB) to the microphone output before the 9233. You also have some other options material DSA that include the input gain.
