Some programs do not recognize Windows Media Player on my computer error ' g windows media player is not installed or supported on my computer. "

I have windows 7 home. I have 12.0.7601.181.50 windows Media Player. Some web sites do not recognize that it is installed on my computer. It does not show on the page add to the abduction as a program that is installed on my computer.  All attributes are turned on. I am currently taking a class and he repeats my windows media player is not installed or supported on my computer.

A test and don't run like that for long JUST as a quick test, IF this compass program is the only one who can or not 'see' WMP, try turning off your firewall on your PC (not router) just to see if it works OK then.  See - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766337%28v=WS.10%29.aspx - for instructions via the user interface.

After testing, you can reactivate the firewall.

PS - can give you a link to the site so that we can a better idea of the program? or is it internal to your company?

While some offer programs install both 32-bit and 64-bit as a single installation and the installation of the program checks it should install. A few programs installed 32-bit when I said to use the 64-bit. I received a message that I had a 32 bit OS and that it could not install the 64-bit version. If you buy a commercial version of win7 you are provided with the installation dvd of bit versions and a unique activation key. You cannot install both versions.

Most of the programs will install without problem in a 64-bit version of victory, there is very little that will not be installed on Windows 64-bit.

You install programs as usual, you don't need to change any settings or install to anywhere other than their default locations. -C' IE you do not manually select the x 86 folder or any other folder.

If the program you are installing has the ability to install a specific version of bit, and it does not work, then the problem is that options program installers, you must contact the program support

A retail version of Office 2010 also comes with two versions of ILO.

Having a 64-bit version of victory does NOT mean that you need to install 64-bit Office, in fact MS recommends that stick you with 32-bit Office (reason being compatibility with various plug0ins Office)

And of course the 32-bit version of win only supports 4 GB of memory

  • Some programs does not open in Windows 7

A new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed. Some programs will not open, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, after double clicking the icons a timer gets up, goes and nothing happens. Also, impossible to open the network and sharing Center, a window appears on the screen, but it is blank and freezes. The same thing happens when you try to view the settings of the firewall. Tried to do a system restore but this wedge in the initial phase, is to expire. Everything has worked the first time the laptop was used, but now these problems are happening.

What happened between now when things don't work, and when they worked at the start? Is there an application or driver installation or any other change in Setup?
Because things are not open, I suggest doing a restore to the time/date even earlier if possible.

If I update my windows xp home edition pack will delete my programs or make some of them do not work or work properly.

It's a good idea to allow the updates of Windows run the calendar.  The security of your system will be improved and features as well.  You must be up to Service Pack 3 on XP and current updates. Use the Windows Update option in the Tools menu in Internet Explorer to get the latest version. On system properties, open the Automatic Updates tab and set the preferences to automatic.

    Hello!

If you want to restore the laptop to factory settings and that you have Vista, you must start from the recovery discs or press F8 at startup and then select Repair my computer and follow the instructions in the menu.
If you have Windows XP, you have the recovery disks.

Prior to this, back up your data first. The HARD drive will erase completely.

I also think it s the best way to reinstall Windows, but you should also check if you have the most recent BIOS:

Sidenote: MS should really give a possibility to download the full file rather than download 210 mb on each computer.

  • Vista Home Premium 64-bit: Side-by-side configuration incorrect, C++ Redistributable is not installed, programs will not install, Windows Update will not work.

Greetings!  Please read this and thank you in advance for your help.

A few months ago, I started to receive Windows Update errors, indicating that my Windows platform could not update itself.  Soon after, I started getting errors about C++ Redistributable does not install correctly.  It wasn't a huge problem for a while, and I managed to work around it.  However, my antivirus program is dead, and I'm unable to install a new.  When I try to install programs now, I get the error "side-by-side configuration is incorrect."  I would like to delete the manifest and try to reinstall the application, but I don't know where they are.  At least, it would be a start.  In any case, I am currently without virus protection.  Help!

So far, I tried to uninstall the Windows updates, but I only managed to install the MS Office updates.  I have even office, although I understand that it is built into the operating system of our days.  I tried many different patches of a lot of different forums and nothing seems to work.  I would like to reinstall the OS, but I bought OEM (from Newegg) and do not have the disc.  I don't even have an easy backup, or even one that I know is 'good'.

Thanks again for your time and effort.  They are appreciated more than you can imagine.

    -Sean

    How to ask a question
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375 >

It helps those answering questions if you provide:

what the version of windows (32-bit or 64-bit) and service pack level.

you use what browser (exact version).

what application anti-virus or security suite is installed and your current subscription?

    What third-party firewall

What anti-malware software can be installed.

What updates you trying to install? (Number of KB)

What error do you get everything when trying to install updates?
