Some programs no longer work.

After the Firefox 14.0.1, update I can no longer download files with Internet Download Manager. The program works fine on other browsers, so I guess I just need to reinstall or something. If someone could explain this to me and tell me how to fix it, I would really appreciate it.

    Hello Avalia,

Please provide us with some information about the programs that do not work.

With information available to us so far, you can run the restore to the date where the programs were working well.

To restore the operating system to an earlier date, follow these steps:

    1. click on the system restore starts, type in the Search box, and then click System Restore in the programs list.

    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    3. in the System Restore dialog box, click choose a different restore point , and then click on Next.

    4. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click on Next.

    5. click on end.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Here is a link to the system restore if you want more information

  • Some software no longer works

I get a message to go on the web and find the download to repair the files that no longer work. I download the program on the Microsoft site, but after that it runs and told me what files need to be fixed, I have to pay. Is there a free download tool which will find and solve problems for free?

It would have been better if you had given the real name of the "download to repair the files", etc. Microsoft does not make you pay for the fixes. It seems much more likely to me that your computer is infected with one of the many variants rogue security program. These rascals to masquerade as legitimate programs and can look very similar as they come from Microsoft, but they do not. Read General information about the rogues below, but if it's all too much (and without shame in this case; we have all our fields of expertiese), take the computer to a local reputable professional. Do not use a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place.

Your system is infected with a rogue security program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad. Don't pay them!

Bleeping Computer has the removal of many variants of thieves here steps - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-vista-2010
You can also check for the stages of removal at these links:

Malwarebytes malware removal guide - http://tinyurl.com/5xrpft

Malwarebytes' Anti-malware (MBAM) or SuperAntiSpyware will often do the job. Both have free versions and you don't need to buy these programs.

These can work for you, and all can be good. However, in many cases the computer will also infected with other horses of Trojan and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows. It's your choice. I do not recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places.

  • Some keys no longer work on Satellite A200-196 after Windows 7 update

Hi all, I've just upgraded computer laptop of my partner (a Toshiba Satellite A200-196) to Windows 7 after you initially install Windows XP on it (it came with Vista).

After the XP update, I noticed that some keys were not working. I don't remember the process that I used to solve the problem, but the difficulty that I did, and they were all soon works perfectly. So this is a software problem and not material. I think he might have something to do with the FN key - but I can't be sure.

Now, I just upgraded the same machine and I have exactly the same problem. Keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

Can anyone help please? I tried to reinstall Win7 and the problem is still there.

    Thank you very much

    Andy

    > The keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

These keys have nothing to do with the missing software.
Indeed, the function key (FN key) needs a Toshiba utility particular installation / software to make it work, but the keys Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L are common keys on the keyboard that don t need no special software.

That's why I think that the problem is hardware related: simple keyboard malfunction.
I guess that all of these keys work correctly if you sign in and use the external USB keyboard.

  • Satellite P200 - 10G - some programs do not work

    Hello world.

OK, so we have a record of product recovery and we have tried to reinstall Windows, but it wouldn't work. Some of our programs as the built-in webcam and Bluetooth don't work without reason. Other programs like Google Earth and AVG, antivirus, we cannot get out of our system. I installed the laptop with the recovery disk, but now when I put this drive and I try to reinstall Windows, nothing happens. There is no error message or anything. All the programs that I installed in my notebook, I can't delete. For example Google Earth, & AVG antivirus program. I get a message that says that these programs are already deleted, but they are always in my book. My 80 GB of disk c is almost full and I have no idea what occupies this space. All my music and photos etc are on my E drive.

Does anyone know what we should do?

    Much appreciation,
    Musa

According to the specifications of the laptop Satellite Satellite P200 - 10G has no module BT and BT will not work.
In the disc specification HARD is described as 120GB (5400 RPM) SATA. The question is: do you still have original HARD drive inside or you have upgraded with a new one?

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 337c: right click on the taskbar for programs no longer works.

    1. product name and number: HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 337C

    2. operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Edition Home Premium (64-bit); Service Pack 1; Build number 7601; Version of DirectX 11.

    3. error message: None; wish that it is.

    4. all changes made to your system until the problem occurred: Geez, there was so much.

Problem: It used to not be that way.  Whenever I right click on a program open on the taskbar, and move the mouse to the added elements or recent-objects, disappears from the list.  The mouse does not work, but I can still use the cursor up/down arrows to select the item, press ENTER, and it works.  But there may be other problems related to the use of the mouse; We'll save those for later.

    Thank you

    Hank

There is the possibility that there is a third-party shell extension that is the cause of the problem. You can analyze that yourself with a free utility called ShellExView. This may take some trial and error, deactivation and activation on your part.

Only disable a single extension, both for troubleshooting, then turn it back on. If too many extensions at the same time, more specifically shell extensions Microsoft is off, then you might get a operating system unbootable.

  • While a single PX30t - some programs do not work after Windows 10

I have an office in a single PX30t.
The Toshiba Service Station recommended I update software due to my upgrade to Windows 10.

It asked me to uninstall the programs first, and then install the updates.
However I had problems with the new updates do not work or already existing.

One of the programs was the Toshiba Blu ray disc player 32/64-bit (it is not available in the download list), and Cyberlink media (starts to download, but encounter the error "your system must have a version of non-evaluation of PowerDirector Touch 1.0 installed.) The installation will stop.

Has anyone else had these problems.
I'm afraid I won't be able to play discs more that I deleted the Blu - ray player? I would be grateful for any advice.

Also after the Elimination of the programs of the computer updates is more appeared in the Toshiba service station and I had to download them directly from the Toshiba site - very frustrating!
