  It is the first HP product I've ever owned, I'm pretty happy with the laptop, outside of windows 8.1 However, is not the concern of this post. My mouse pad stops working when I press a key, as in if I press 'W', while trying to move the mouse on the screen then followed mouse stops. So it is impossibe to play all kinds of games and making it really difficult to do anything else and it's just embarrassing. The only button that does not affect this is the key of the SIFT.

  I have no idea what to do, y at - it a setting or something like that or I'm just miserable?

  Tip number 2 above solved my problem.  I had the same situation were I could access the net on my new TX everywhere, but at home on my linksys router G band.  After trying each option and the password/key combinations without success, then I changed the mode of 'G' only 'mixed' and everything hooked up right.   It seems that the wireless mouse or mouse wireless drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
  I put t have a good solution for this problem. Well, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for latest driver updates. If the updates doesn't solve this problem I suggest to use either the mouse wireless and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key combination or use a regular USB mouse.
  I guess that you are having regular problems with a USB mouse.
