• Special keys on the HP keyboard

  My PC is a HP Pavilion m7000. I said, maybe I should say was! During the upgrade from Windows Media Edition for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, disaster struck and my mother/card motherboard and graphics card has failed.  I had to take the PC to a repair shop where a new compatible mainboard has been installed. Naturally, the recovery strategy and the partition on the hard drive were more appropriate, but all other accessories are the original.

  I now have a problem with my keyboard in that some of the special keys above the function keys no longer work. Indeed, special keys only function are the standby key and the Volume and touch Mute, twelve other keys do not work.  Anyone know how to reprogram those keys?

  I have been playing with vCAC 6.0 for quite awhile (now updated vCAC 6.0.1) and have created a plan that will clone with Windows Server R2 model 2012. Comments agent has not been installed because I wanted only to lift the machine up and running with customization specifications created in vCenter.

  The plan was working as expected after I created the service, part of the catalogue and clearances. After that, I converted the virtual computer model to update the model with new Windows patches, and then convert back to model. Now when I try to create a new master plan, selected the workflow of clone and search for the model, the model that I've updated does not exist in the list. Curious, too, I went to change the blueprint and attempted to review for the model, and it does not appear on the list more. In fact, I created a model of linux (CentOS) at some point after the installation of the vCAC, and I don't see the list as well.

  A number of things you said indicate that this could be a really serious problem...

  (1) you said the keys have been colored, and (2) to which to connect a USB keyboard has the same problem.

  If it was simply a minor spill on the keys, then (2) would not be the case, and a connected USB keyboard would work without any problem.

  But, given the second, everything that has been spilt on the keyboard seeped inside the laptop and did damage.

  At this point, your only recourse is to take the laptop to a cell phone of reputable repair shop and have them run diagnostics and, if necessary, disassemble to determine how much damage has been done and what it will take to fix it.

  IF it was bad, you're probably looking at a higher cost to repair than to replace.
