Speech recognition freezes and requires the restart.

SPEECH RECOGNITION - 2nd try. I am a disabled person who is 85% dependent on Microsoft speech recognition to communicate in writing. Two weeks ago my SR program would sometimes freeze and require rebooting. Today, it will stop working every 2 to 3 hours (I find other similar problem, still no solution) and requires the restart of the plant. He was originally also page redirect at will, which results in the loss of previously entered data. Needless to say that my program of speech recognition works pretty well right now. These last two days have been exhausting, trying to keep the operational programme. Can anyone offer advice, assistants, suggestions or point me down as a path to success?
Sincerely, Stan

Hello

1. you did recently on the computer until the problem started?

It seems that speech recognition works badly or something is broken. There are a few steps that we can try to solve this problem.
Step 1: Sfc scanner to find and repair corrupt system files.
1. Click Start, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
2. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
For more information, see this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929833

Step 2: If the problem persists, perform the clean boot to find out what is causing the problem.
Follow step 1 to disable all non-Microsoft services and check if the voice recognition works great: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929135

If the voice recognition program always freezes, then follow step 2 to step 6 to know what causes this problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929135

Follow step 7 to start the computer in normal mode: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929135

Post back with the results, so that we can help you further if necessary.

Kind regards
Syed

Is it possible to simply disable this command? I NEVER want to use speech recognition for this. WSR, Windows speech recognition, is listening to the sounds of the words. However, the outside sounds in the environment are often interpreted as words if they enter the audio stream between your mouth and the microphone. The best answer is to eliminate these sounds in the audio stream. If you use a microphone to field far as those built in the computer/Tablet notebook, trying to say stop listening when you dictate not and then start listening when you want dictate or issue commands. Alternatively you can hold down the Windows key and tap the control key to act as a toggle On / Off.

For better accuracy, you should use a good noise canceling with close talking microphone. The simplest are those found on headphones with the MIC at the end of a boom in wire. If you already use a good noise protection headset, place the element of the microphone at the end of the boom on the corner of your mouth. This will prevent noise into the audio stream. • locking the computer: if not using computer for a while, it locks and requires the initial password to get in

So do not use computer for a while, it locks and requires the initial password to get back in. When it becomes available, we've been thrown off internet, or another program we are.

I don't know why Mr. Murphy suggested a system restore. Maybe he interpreted your post differently I did. You have your screen standby/power options defined on too short a time. You can also disable the requirement for a password during the recovery.

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and click on personalize. To customize the applet opens. Click the screen saver. Change the timeout to something reasonable like 10 or 20 minutes. You will see where you can clear the check box next to the "password required on curriculum vitae... ».

Now do the same in the (Control Panel) Power Options applet. This link contains pictures showing you how to disable this option:

  • Why the latest version of Firefox freeze and require a Force Quit?

I use a MacBook Air, processor 1.8 GHz, 4 GB memory, OS X v10.9 (Mavericks) and Firefox v25.0.

9 out of 10 times when I close Firefox, it freezes and I have to do a Force Quit. Without rhyme or reason, ab 1 out of 10 times it closes as it should without a problem. This issue arose as a result of the latest update of Firefox.

NOTE: I had been using OS X Mavericks with Firefox without any problems before the latest update of Firefox, so I don't think it's the Mavericks is the problem.

I thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

It is most likely a problem of Add on.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

The report please come back shortly.

LibreOffice is probably not TSF, text services framework, compatible with voice recognition. Try to test your system using Notepad or Word if you have. If WSR, Windows speech recognition, who works but not LibreOffice your only choice is to dictate in Notepad. Then give command all select, copy, and then Application Switch (to LibreOffice) and paste.

  • Speech recognition - commands to complete the forms?

I try to fill in a form on a Web site using voice input with speech recognition and have two problems that make it impossible to go further.

    (1) I know not how to access drop-down lists and interact with them to choose the one I want.

It may take a few tries. I have found next field, or go to the next field and press Tab or press return Tab works normally. Saying: Drop Down List or press arrow down should work to go down a list and then say move down one or move to the low four etc.

  • PC freezes and work the next day and freezes again...

My dell dimension 4700 with windows xp computers crashes often, and the keyboard/mouse both work, forcing me to unplug the computer. This usually happens after no more than an hour of medium/light use, so he does not start correctly and freezes on the splash screen or a screen of welcome for the rest of the day and the next day he again works for an hour and repeat the cycle.

I have many important things on the computer and it is the only computer I can access easily, how to fix?

So, if I am understanding correctly, you experience this problem with safe mode too?

Try the following steps to see if the problem resolves

1 restore the PC to an earlier date.

    2. make Hard Reset

Here's how to do a hard reset

    1. turn the computer off completely

    2. unplug the code of the power supply to the back of your computer and make sure that there is no source of energy from the computer

    3. remove all cables plugged in to your computer, including the keyboard and mouse.

    4. press the power button on your computer for 30 seconds, you could see the power light flash and go

    5. reconnect the power cable, and the mouse and key board

6 turn the computer and watch her for an hour or two.

    7. If the computer does not freeze, taken in the other device, one at a time, please wait a few minutes between plug questions to make sure that the connected devices will not cause this problem.

If this resolves the problem, you can save all your files to an external storage device and recover the computer completely.

If the recovery does too much help, this indicates that there may be a hardware failure, most often, the sticks of memory can cause this problem or the processor, and it would be a good suggestion for the service computer.

  • Transfer of large files on home network freezes and stop the transfer

I have a HP Desktop running Windows 7 and laptop HP on Vista 64-bit. I have two networked computers on a home network with a 3Com network 10/100 16-port switch.  When I try to transfer files greater than approximately 2.5 gigabytes between two PCs, file transfer will hang and stop after about 2.5 gigabits. Below the size of this file, generally no problem, the transfer ends. The two PCs have file sharing turned on and as mentioned on any file less than 2.5 gigabits transfer / very well.  Is there some sort of transfer of files, size limit on Windows Vista and 7 OS?  Are there settings that I can change to allow to transfer large files? I got an old Sony PC running Windows XP and I could transfer files more than 2.5 gibabits to my storage device shared networked home without any problem.  But under Vista and 7 OS, even once, I can't transfer any file more 2.5 gigabits to my home network shared storage device.  Anyone has any ideas how to solve this problem? Thank you. NEOhio123

I fixed this problem on my laptop running Windows Vista 64 bit. I remembered that first of all, this started occurring after that I used the IOLO System Mechanic 9 network optimization tool to optimize the settings of my network on my laptop.  So I ran the cancellation on my Windows Vista laptop, and now the laptop with Vista will once more to transfer large files. If a note to all of you who use System Mechanic... do not function of optimization of the network on a Vista PC tool run... .or if you wash and start experiencing problems of transfer of large files... run the cancel this function and rebooting.  You should be able to transfer large files again. I just sent IOLO an email to warn of this problem with the optimization tool of the network within their product of System Mechanic 9.

UNFORTUNATELY, my new desktop computer running that Windows 7 has still this problem , it stops file transfers after about 2.5 gigabits are sent to my device of storage attached to the network or the laptop. I learned that this seems to be a problem in a way. I can pull large files of my storage device, network or laptop, I can not just to transfer large files to these devices with the Windows 7 desktop. So if anyone has any ideas of how to resolve this problem of transferring large files with Windows 7, I would appreciate your insight.
