It would probably help if you reinstalled Windows, but this is a drastic measure and almost certainly useless to take in response to this error.

When you restart the print spooler, it immediately turning off or only when you try to print?

Assuming that you have an up-to-date antivirus application and have recently scanned withMalwareBytes Antimalware and SUPERAntiSpyware as you are reasonably confident that your computer is free of malware, the most likely reasons for the print spooler not running are a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver.

Print spooler print server 2008 crash with file hpb6sy2917_x64gui.dll error

This happened on 02/10/15 and happened again on 24/02/16. We have two printers that depend on this file. HP Color LaserJet 553 and HP LaserJet M604. I have over a hundred of the M604 on my network and the last time that this happened, it dominoed across the print server system.  This has also caused some spools of printing stop on end users. The only way I can get end users up is to uninstall the driver package.

This issue affects the Windows Server 2008 and windows computers 7 as well.  Try to determine why this has happened twice and determine how fixit before the rest of my Server 2008 and end down as well.

The error lies in the hpb6sy2917_x64gui.dll.

This time I had to remove the printers and drivers with a regedit. I also deleted all files in all files for 2917 in the

C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder. But this time, when I reinstall the M604 M553 drivers and it lowers again print server spooler. I'm frustrated to say the least.

I tried clearing forcefully queues by deleting files in C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS

    Hello

According to the description of the problem, you work in the Windows Server 2008 domain environment. So, I suggest you to republish your query on the TechNet forum, which is run by the other IT professionals who are trained on the server issues. However, you can try to run the REG file that was downloaded in the link provided by Ramesh Srinivasan in his position, responded on June 2, 2012 in the thread link provided below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

There are generally 2 reasons that cause the print spooler to stop: a printer driver damaged or corrupted a print job.  It is also possible that the malware has caused this, so you'd be wise to scan your system with these two free scanners:

    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Download, install, update and run each.  Do not do both at the same time.  Each will take a while, depending on the size of your hard disk drive, so have a few tasks not computer lined up after the start of the analysis.

Malware side, here are the steps to clean your printer drivers and the possible corruption of print jobs.

First, stop the print spooler.  You can do it using the tool Services even you know.

Scroll down to the print spooler, and then click Stop
Open a Windows Explorer window and enter the following in the address box:
    C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete all files in this folder, but do not delete the PRINTERS folder itself.

Then, follow the instructions here to clean and reinstall your printer drivers: Article 1.  If you have a Lexmark printer, follow the instructions here instead (they are essentially the same, but includes a few additional steps for printers Lexmark).

    Step 2:

Restart the spooler service and check if this is useful.

    Step 3:

  • Problems of spooling print

I have a computer Dell Lap Top with Windows Vista.  I also have an Epson NX515 printer that is only about a year and works fine with other computers. I said representatives technical Espon my Dell Pat Top has a spool of printer issue that comes down to microsoft.

What are the tasks need to be done to solve this problem?

    Hi whillsgr,

    1. What happens when you try to print? You receive an error message?
    2. Did you the latest changes on the computer?

A print spooler is a system service that temporarily stores the disk printing hard or in memory until the printer is ready to print. If you were expecting an abnormally long time to print a document, or if you see an error message about the print spooler, Spooler subsystem or spooler resources, you might need to change and then restart the print spooler service on your computer.

You check the status of the desktop print spooler service and make sure it is running.

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.

    1. Open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Administrative Tools.
    2. Double-click Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. Right click on the print spooler service, and then click Properties.
    4. Under the tab general , next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.
    5. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Startand then click OK. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You can also try to launch the printing on the computer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  • Windows cannot open spool print

I ran that the scan for vista function and the report I have files corrupted on my hard drive and which cannot be resolved.  What can I do to fix the corrupted files which, I believe, will fix my printer spool problems.

    Hi mpcaseyclue,

As mentioned the mistake that this is a problem of print spooler. You can check that the print spooler service is running. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Startand then right-click my computerand clickManage.
    2. Expand Services and Applicationsand then click Services.
    3. In the Details pane, right-click the print spooler service, and then click Start (if it is stopped).
    4. If its already in road mode right click on the service and click on restart.
    5. Output of computer management.

If you have run a sfc /scan and it says that you have files corrupted on the best computer must run theSystem Update tool and if this also doesn't help not you will have to do an inplace upgrade.

Let me know if you get an error with the print spooler service.

I had this problem with error 1068"the dependency service or group could start.

Any help will be appreciated operating system is Windows 7 Premium Home edition is installed on an Acer Aspire.

In the default installation, the values must be RPCSS and http. However, it works fine even without http as a dependency. I guess that the http driver is the problem (not start) in your PC, and elimination of the dependence of spooler should do the trick.

    Hi Rapheek,

    Thanks for joining us again.

You must copy and paste all the commands written in "BOLD" from the previous post on a Notepad and name the file as spooler.reg and save it to the desktop. Then double-click to run the file. This would create the print spooler service.

Let us know the status of the issue.
