SRP527W Ethernet WAN with PPPOE

Hello

We have a SRP527W running after connecting an ADSL broadband currently, we'd spend FTTC usage for the internet link.

I found through these forums how to activate the ethernet port 4 as the WAN interface but cannot see how we can then specify the PPPOE settings required for FTTC.

Is this possible on the SRP527W or the other SRP520 range?

Thank you

Gary

Hi Gary,.

The option should be there for you.

Log in as admin.

Disable ADSL (to activate the 4th LAN port as WAN interface)

Then from the Quick Setup (or installation Interface) page, you can configure PPPoE:

Hope that helps,

Andy

  • Moxa Ethernet series with Visa showing strange characters

Before going to the Moxa with these questions, I was hoping if someone could easily say "I saw this before and this is probably what is wrong." I use a Moxa device which is just ethernet to serial (NPort 5150). I can say I have everything match correctly in terms of run configuration, and I'm just a loopback test. However the data have some weird characters at the beginning, when I read again. They seem to spend as I add text at the beginning of my thong and maybe has something to do with the first space in the string? Someone has seen something like this before with Moxa or other ethernet equipment series? The device has a few options of delimitter but now that they are not chosen so I don't think that's the question.

They have a DLL with functions I'd like to try in case they do something special under the hood, but I'm really trying to avoid writing a wrapper around a bunch of UIBC if native G will do. My next step would be to one of their example programs C compile and write data to see if I get the same results as my LabVIEW application.

Marco, your question about the serial interface made me think, because Yes it is 232 but has 485 capabilities...

Maybe that I just need to sleep on it, but I came this morning and looked at the settings. The default type is 485 serial device. I switched it to 232 and it worked (big surprise...).

Thank you for encouraging my brain to start working again.

    Hi Mitchell,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand the Windows compatibility check indicates that the Ethernet drivers are not compatible with Windows 10 on your Windows 7 computer. I will definitely help you to solve this problem.

I wish to inform you that the drivers are built by the manufacturer. Therefore, if the manufacturer does not have to build compatible with the upgraded version of Windows drivers and the compatibility check indicates that the drivers are not compatible so that you might face difficulties with the drivers on the new operating system.

However, you try to install the drivers in Compatibility Mode after upgrading you computer Windows 7-Windows 10. Please refer to the below mentioned steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode:

First download the driver from your computer manufacturer's website and install it then.

SE refer (make older programs compatible with this version of Windows)

  • NO DRIVERS FOR UCS BLADE B200 M4 (missing ethernet controller) with W2012R2.

We have installed windows 2012 R2 x 64 picture in a B200 M4 (2.2.7b) blade. We have installed all the drivers of Cisco web page, but that one THAT CISCO VIC ETHERNET INTERFACE (20gbps) pilot was found. The other Ethernet controller was not found in the .iso image file (UCS-bxxx-pilots - windows.2.2.7.iso).

Can someone help us with these drivers?

    The id of the part is UCSB-MLOM - 40G - 03

    Thank you

All ethernet interfaces, which represent the vNIC you created in your service profile, will use a single driver.  Make sure that you have installed the chipset drivers intel \ucs-bxxx-drivers-windows.2.2.7.iso\ChipSet\Intel\B200M4\W2K12R2\ and then confirm you need to install the driver of vic.  When the driver chipset and vic are installed, your ethernet interfaces must map all just as network several adapters of VIC.

Additionally, make sure that you have not created vNIC dynamic (which may appear as follows in the Device Manager) in your service profile, unless you create for your VM - Fex NIC hyperV environment.  For VM-Fex/dynamic vNIC, there is a specific process to create these, so the Windows hyperV host does not see in Device Manager and is only visible in hyperV guestVMs.

    Thank you

  • VPN site-to-site with pppoe ADSL connection

    Dear

I would like to know - is it possible to connect two 5505 ASA in VPN site-to-site with 1 site using the pppoe ADSL connection?

    A (static IP) site

    Site B (ADSL pppoe, DHCP)

    Site has < site="" to="" site="" vpn=""> > Site B

    Best regards

    Alan.

Configuration of site B should be the same as all the other side than peers with static end.

The different configuration would be on Site A as he will accept a VPN to a dynamic counterpart.

Unfortunately, I have no configuration example to show you on ASDM.

  • Reference DELL Blade - Ethernet Passthrough with ESX 4

    Fabric A2: no

Fabric B1: Ethernet Passthrough (iSCSI to DELL Equallogic PS5000e SAN)

Fabric B2: Ethernet Passthrough (iSCSI to DELL Equallogic PS5000e SAN)

All blade on ESX servers see the A1 and A2 as vmnic0 & vmnic1.  If I understand correctly, the M6220.  The problem is that none of the blades see Passthroughs Ethernet which are connected to a Cisco 2970 switch.  Shouldn't B1 & B2 appear on vmnic2 & vmnic3?  It does not show on the side of ESX.

Any agency with experience with this would be useful.

    Thanks in advance.

    (1) chassis management controller can tell you what is installed.

    (2) Yes, you do.  If you want to connect to what in fabric B, each server needs to connect to fabric B need a Mezz card on fabric B.

  • LRT224 Problem with PPPoE

After updated firmware from v1.0.0.09 to v1.0.3.09. The PPPoE does not work anymore, it is unable to connect to the ISP. I do not any of the PPPoE setting change. I tried to restore the previous configuration, but it still does not. Please help me to sort. And how to restore to previous firmware v1.0.0.09? Links to download the previous firmware? Thank you

If you are restoring a previous configuration file on the new firmware it will fail due to compatibility between the configurations of the firmware.

I recommend resetting to the factory settings and reconfigure to scratch.

  • WAN with 3 routers RV320 and client VPN routing

I connect to the Home Office with Cisco VPN Client. When I connect via VPN to the office '1' and then I get the 192.168.12.0 network address and I can ping network 192.168.10.0 and connect to servers on the network. Unfortunately I can not connect to other networks (from offices '2' and '3'). What should I set on routers? Static routes? How?

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

    Hello Adam,.

Looks like you have the Cisco VPN Client configured in shared tunnel mode.  In this mode the traffic associated with the specific network specified in the configuration of the tunnel will be sent through the tunnel, all the rest just use your normal internet connection.  However, you can change this in the configuration of 320 to a full tunnel. All your traffic will then be sent through the tunnel, and the RV should just drive through the tunnel from site to site, suitable for any office network you want to reach.

Note, however, that this will send all your traffic, including any web browsing and nothing else happening on your PC, through the connection of the VPN Client.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just wanted you to be aware of it.

Hope that helps and thanks for using Cisco,

  • Ethernet VMware with Cisco EtherChannel and Trunking Question

    Hello

Trying to get our etherchannels works correctly with our network administrator. Here is our config with a few questions.

    1. as it is to create the trunk between switch and host directly, can I use spanning tree portfast chest edge ?

    2. when don't we use no ip address and when not for this configuration? I see online showing examples with and without it.

    3. in some articles, he described in access mode , while in others he said dot1q trunk mode. See here for the access mode. Admin think it should use dot1q.

4 Etherchannel is fully support and preferred extending from links on maps, right? Not all of the links on the same card?

5 is this the case in order to change the load balancing algorithm in vmware first or first to the work of cisco? I did first vmware. (IP-hash)

    It's on a series with 4 cards/blades 6500 switch.

Great documentation would be layout, the reasons to go this way or that way you did just. That being said, here's my summary based on this discussion.

    1. we have several VLANS that descends from 3 links on the etherchannel. Thus, we should use mode trunk because there is not a single.

    2. we have an another etherchannel with just 1 vlan (vmotion), but in all of two links. This should be the access mode. Or is it still trunk because it's the multiple links?

    3. I don't know what crash dump logger is, or how it applies to my situation.

    5. I don't know if our switch would deliver on that port. How can I tell? At this moment I have switchport setting in there.

    Thank you!

No problem for reference, the other question of documentation is one of the languages. Their word etherchannel on HP networking hardware, 'trunk' and has nothing to do with the discussion of port "access vs circuit", which they call "tag unidentified vs.

    1 Yes

    2. you would certainly make an access port.

    Hello:

Ethernet controller with the ID of PCI\VEN_168C & DEV_0013 is a wireless Atheros made by Netgear adapter.

It was not standard equipment on your model.

You can download the driver from the below link at the top right of the page.

After downloading the file, unzip it and run the setup.exe file in the folder.

  • E4200 - PPPoE

last week, I looked into a new router, and the E4200 is bang on perfect really, except for PPPoA connection.

I did a lot of research and I came across one post mentioned that I can choose between PPPoA and PPPoE for my type of connection, and after a quick test, it seems true. my ISP says it must be of type PPPoA and PPPoE works really well!

My question is, will the E4200 under PPPoE work on my ADSL line, as is currently my Netgear DG834g?

Maybe the cable PPPoE is different then DSL PPPoE.

the reason I ask, my netgear is true modem router ADSL (RJ-11 wan), the E4200 is classified as a cable (RJ-45 wan) router

    Thanks for any info

The E4200 is an ethernet router. It has an ethernet connector. Only, it connects to ethernet devices. This means that you still need a modem to connect to your Internet access provider (unless your ISP provides you with a direct ethernet connection in your House).

If you have a DSL, you need a DSL modem.
If you have an internet cable you need of a cable modem.

Your Netgear has a built-in ADSL modem.

The E4200 has no modem. Everywhere where you want to connect to you will need a modem to connect to the ISP.

If you want to connect the E4200 one ADSL line, you will need a DSL modem (or you can probably use your Netgear to function as a simple ADSL modem).

The modem is the liaison to the ISP. This Protocol is necessary to speak again through this link depends on the ISP. PPPoE is more common for ADSL. More common for cable internet is Ethernet.

PPPoA is unfortunately not supported on routers Linksys Ethernet as the E4200. Linksys only supports PPPoA Protocol in their ADSL devices, i.e. routers with built-in as your Netgear modem.

If your service provider supports PPPoE the E4200 allows you to connect to your ISP through a DSL modem.
