My machine (Dell Dimension 3100 with XP Home) home is set for automatic recovery of Windows updates. I reload often, but when I was forced to start again last week, I got the blue screen of death. Apart from the general BSOD error message, I got the stop code:

    STOP 0x0000007B...

I forgot the subsequent stop codes, but search recall I was doing on them indicated drivers disk or storage-related problem.

I ran all sorts of Dell diagnostics on my hardware, get absolutely no problem. Scan of a viral infection was also negative. A colleague help out me suggested removing the updates of Windows of April, he did help and usefulness of the ERD. XP loaded and started after that, if I had to go through a process of slooow restart for most updates. My office also now charge many times slower - I suspect drivers and services can't find what they expect to find and take considerable time to make mistakes.

My Dell has a range of Intel (RAID-1) matrix installed. I strongly suspect that this pilot was in trouble after the April update Windows Update.

So, what should I do to prevent this from happening again? I don't know the specific fix involved. I have disabled the automatic updates for now.

    TIA

Complete sweep of Kaspersky AV, booted from the CD, turned up negative, so I doubt that it is an infection.

I'm sorry, but this does not exclude the possibility of infection. See step # 3 in my previous response, or contact Ms. PCSafety for assistance.

Or see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559218 (VS.85) .aspx and/or http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x7b for more troubleshooting ideas.

Or if you let Windows Update to install an update for the driver (never a good idea), try a roll-back of pilot.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you change the motherboard that you normally have to reinstall vista

your hard drive if you ever reinstalled vista contains the drivers for the old motherboard etc.

and if vista is pre-installed you can not put the motherboard unless you do so in collaboration with the computer manufacturer

  • Stop 0x0000007B error when you try to do a clean install of Windows XP Pro SP3 on a HP m9400t

After booting from the XP disk, installing windows begins to load but soon stops.  I can never get the screen of windows configuration options.

I did a survey and this error seems to indicate a driver missing hardware (storage controller or chipset?) that needs XP that isn't on the XP installation disc.  I tried to install the driver of storage separately, but it still gives me the BSOD.

Enter the BIOS and be sure THAT RAID is not enabled for the hard drive. You should be able to change mode IDE that will allow XP install without additional drivers are required.

  • Start Windows Vista blue screen STOP: 0X0000007B error

When I try to start up the bios screen appears then it goes to the loading of windows and I get this screen.  At first I thought it was a hard drive failed, but then I took the same hdd from another laptop I had, and it still does the same thing.  I tried to install a new copy of windows from the disc, but when it loads the files and will install I get the same blue screen.  I have reset my bios to the default system, I also physically reset the cmos and still no luck.  I have no idea what to do, I'm stuck.  I tried to go to the F8 boot menu and have used all the options and it always leads to this blue screen.  This may be a hardware failure? I take the laptop completely apart and put it back together and still get this blue screen.  Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

To resolve this problem, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

Method 1: Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    1. Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

947821 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/) Description of the update readiness tool for Windows Vista system
    2. Try to install updates again.

Note After running the tool, the Checksur.log file is stored in the following location:

    %SystemRoot%\Logs\CBS

In a default installation of Windows Vista, is the Windows directory.

If this method does not resolve the problem, go to method 2.

Method 2: Install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 if you have not yet installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), visit the Microsoft Download Center and then download and install Service Pack 1. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Quit all programs, and then click on the following link:

Note Click the option to download on the download page, click Save, and then save the download to your desktop. When the download process is complete, click run to install the SP1.

    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Try to download the updates again.

If you can't always install updates, go to method 3.

Method 3: Perform a repair of Windows Vista installation when you perform a repair installation, which restores the current installation of Windows Vista to the version on the installation DVD. This requires you to reinstall all updates that do not appear in this version of Windows Vista.

To perform a repair of Windows Vista installation, follow these steps:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, click on Start, type: \setup.exe in the Search box, and then click configuration in the list programs. Then, click install now.

    3. Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    4. Insert the product key if you are prompted to do so.
    5. Click to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    6. On the screen which type of installation you want , click upgrade.
    7. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer, and then try again to install updates.

  • error recovery Windows returns constantly to the start without reason...

Hi I recently got windows 7 Professional 64-bit my Thursday school last burn on a dvd. Everything seemed fine after installation, and such as Saturday when he starts in front of the screen of bio and then pop up with error recovery windows telling me that windows wasn't one to repair or start normally anyway would it continue to go to this windows error recovery screen bit whatever I chose. These events eventually led me to believe that my hard drive has failed in which I had a brand new only on Sunday and installed fine all appeared while Monday morning he started to blow upward with the same error message I could try the repairs say it was very good, try and boot and it would restart again. Fortunately I was able to install my Vista Edition home premium 64-bit, which seemed to be ok for most of the day until yesterday when it grew up the windows on error with the options to use the last configuration or start normally (due to the recent hardware or software changes, but I have not install anything new in terms of software or hardware) that works , but im not sure for how long. Im very tech savvy for my age and know what im doing with computers, but I can't seem to understand what is happening since it is a new player none of my hardware is a failure and I don't know.
    Appreciate any help...

Repair system solves most of the start-up problems.  Some computers have startup repair pre-installed otherwise you will need a CD/DVD of Windows Vista.   If your system still does not boot in Windows, follow these steps to repair the boot sector.

  • STOP: 0x0000007B, blue screen error at startup of Windows XP.

Original title: XP does not open in any safe mode.

XP does not open in any safe mode.  It just restarts over and over until I stop.  I have tryie "disable automatic restart on system failure" and the blue screen had these codes; I guess that's the BSOD, although I don't know what BSOD is right now.  The codes were - STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78AA524, 0 x 0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).  I conclude that this indicates a person well informed of what is wrong, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it.  I consider myself a person of intermediate level; I'm comfortable with some things and others that I'm not.  I hesitate to make the adjustments that I don't know what the results will be.  I do not experiment.

Before that, my laptop Toshiba L300 (about a year) worked very well. I think there a virus as a "window of 11 news" kept popping up in Internet Explorer.  I ran the Windows scan and it found nothing.  I tried to run a software check Norton which is supposed to run in safe mode and that's when it happened.  I have perhaps inadvertently done something wrong; I don't know what.  Is this enough information for someone to help me to solve this problem, or do I need to take it to someone more clever am I?

    Thanks, Al H

    Hello

    That means STOP 0x7B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

    1. first of all, you can restart the PC and press F8 to enter the Advanced Options Menu Windows XP. Once the menu is displayed, select 'last good known Configuration ". See if Windows XP starts correctly. If it restarts the PC again and make sure it's normally.

    2. the second thing you want to do is to enter the recovery console and run a disk check. Here's how to enter with your Windows XP CD recovery console:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/RCONSOLE.htm

Once in the recovery console you want to type

    CHKDSK c: /r

and then press ENTER. Enable ChkDsk to run and fix the errors. Restart the PC once done and see if it works now.

    3. If it still does not work, restart the PC and enter the Recovery Console. Once in the type Recovery Console the following pressing ENTER after each line:

    Fixboot

    FIXMBR

Once done exit Recovery Console, restart the PC. See if it works now.

I'm a noob Microsoft Answers. I have an old computer, I'm trying to reinstall Windows XP.  It's a Dell XPS Dimension 3 (3.40 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 1 G of RAM).  It does start normally or in Safe Mode.  I tried to use Fixmbr, Fixboot, Bootcfg/Rebuild, chkdsk/r, Memtest86, Killdisk.  I tried to install using another hard drive (which leads me to believe that it is perhaps a hardware problem).  He gave the same error code, I think, even if I didn't write it.  The only thing I found that I have not tried is "How do I recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP startup" because it is said that it will not work on OEM devices.  The error code is Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7C85524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0 x 000000000).  I tried to install Ubuntu on two disks and they have installed and worked properly.  I don't know what else to try except hardware troubleshooting, although I'm not too good with hardware problems.  If you have any recommendations that could put closer me to a resolution I would be very happy!

PS Windows XP actually ran on the second hard drive, I have tried (which is currently the drive in the machine at this time).  I installed it and it starts directly in Windows.  Yay!  I have restarted this configuration several times without any problems.  But I had a problem with the Microsoft Security Essentials update so I thought that a clean install would be better.  In hindsight, I wish I had tried harder to solve this problem, but I did not.  The first hard drive suffered a crash of Windows led me to be upgraded to a Windows 7 computer.  It was more than 1.5 years ago.  I just thought that the full back story might help.

    Hello

I'm close to some (but my experience tells me very little is certain at 100%), which has a generic windows installation CD install without the need for the Setup F6 disk, as long as the BIOS is set to RAID Autodetect / ATA (or possibly 'mix'). AHCI is a more efficient disk access method but requires F6 floppy or "slipstreaming". If the CD is already slipstreamed for your PC, AHCI should work without F6. As you say your default BIOS to auto detect RAID/AHCI, I expect a CD specifically for your system to support it, while a generic CD would not.

I doubt that they will provide F6 floppy but you never know. If you do not ask that you probably won't get.
