  Check to see if there is the external USB HDD in disk management.

  1. go to Control Panel → computer management
  2. in the left pane, under storage, click Disk Management.

  It looks like a USB driver problem.
  I think you should first disconnect the HARD drive.
  Then go to Device Manager, look for USB hubs and controllers and uninstall/delete all the USB controllers.
  After that, restart the system. Wait for USB devices deleted would be recognized and then connect the USB HDD to one of the USB ports.

  I have five 2.5 "and two 3.5" hard drives which I'm trying to download files.  Hard drives 2.5 "are recognized by This PC fine and I was able to download the necessary files.  Neither disks 3.5 "hard are recognized by This PC.  When I plug the USB in, I get a message "sleep and charge ready ', but the drive does not appear in This PC.  One of the disks 3.5 "inch's and IDE, the other is a SATA.  When I check Control Panel/hardware and Sound/legacy and printers it shows very well.

  I would like to access these drives 3.5 ".  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  I suggest you follow the methods and check them off below if it helps:

  Method 1: Run the troubleshooter of material and check out la.

  Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

  (a) press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to display the bar of charms.

  The way I got things set up, is that my final cut pro project has been saved on the external drive. Whenever I open it, it picks up from the external hard drive. Recently, I had a power outage that stopped my external drive and crashed my FCP X. When I turned things on, I kept getting an error that the FCP closes unexpectedly. I have the option to ignore or to reopen. I tried to open my backups, but I get the same error. Sometimes he was telling me to save it to the internal drive and it would actually open, but I get a lot of lack of links to files. My mac doesn't have a lot of space, so I need to be stored on the external hard drive.

  Looks like you have a corruption of the data on your disk/file system.  Once you are able to mount as a drive letter, try to perform a check of the disk drive.  The procedure accelerated this:
  Double-click "My computer"-> right click on the drive-> properties-> tools (tab)-> click 'Check now'--> check that the two options-> start.

  Please keep in mind that it can take more than two hours to perform according to the size of the disk and the amount of corruption and if they're using USB1, 2 or 3.  In cases where corruption is bad, sometimes this can make matters worse so if you can back up all the files in the first place, do.

  The one and only true definition of a 'Important file"is"a file has been saved.

  I have an external drive, which works perfectly well. But I've just updated from vista to W7, and now I can not access the disk from that specific computer. I get access denied. On the properties, all users have full access. And the funny part is on my other computer, with the exact same OS, the drive works perfectly. So, I expect that there is a setting that I didn't know.
  Is there someone with good ideas on how to solve this problem?

• Drive hard treatment noise just continuously

  Hi all

  I bought the Toshiba laptop in September 2006 and now is under warranty. The problem is that processing HARD drive noise comes from the HARD drive but it works very well. I mean, when the computer is processing something, drive hard work and during this process, the SOUND comes which is irretraceable.

  Normally, this type of noise comes from the old hard drives. Can any body guide me what I have to do. Can I claim warranty in such conditions or any other solution

  I recommend you contact the partner of service authorized in your country as soon as possible without a lot of discussion. They should check and if necessary you will get new HARD drive. This now, while the warranty is still valid.
