stopped working eHome Ir remote

win xp sp3, Media Center 2005, ver 5.1.2700.2230

Microsoft eHome IR Transceiver, eHome IR USB receiver.

Driver details: C:\windows\system 32\drivers\irbus.sys

1. disabled in device drivers, let the OS to detect restarts.

2 system restore in time when remote worked.

Nothing helps. Remote control is what ASUS comes with the dual-band TV tuner card. Worked well during the initial installation. Suspect problem may be contaminated registry file. Can't find any info on the content of the appropriate records. IR receiver flashes when used, but the PC does not account for the signals. Control Media Center video with a distance of 16 feet off screen mouse is difficult.  Help!

Hi, Jim.
Instead of uninstalling the receiver & restart, have you tried simply disconnect & reconnect the receiver?
Sometimes they lock up (both of my friends do this each time than in quite awhile) and the only thing that will restore the feature is disconnected (and wait for the "donk donk" a USB disconnect) and then reconnect the device.

A reboot often won't fix, such as a restart will not be off power to the unit.

HTH,
Chris

My concern is why my audio hardware requires remote redirection as that on behalf of disabled bus? On further investigation, Dell has a bus Director. Not a bus "redirector".

  • Apple TV (3rd generation) remote control suddenly stopped working

I used aluminum remote on my 3rd generation Apple TV for years without a single issue.  Then last night, after working fine most of the evening, it simply stopped working.  The first thing I did was to get the distance within two feet of the Apple TV, and then I was able to make it work.  To me, this indicates a battery is weakening, so I replaced it.  Same problem: Apple TV does not remotely, unless I get very, very close.  Just in case, I got a new battery, I tried a second.  Same question.

I did a bit of digging in the community forum, and here's what I've tried:

-restarted successfully the Apple TV via the software and then again just unplug the power cord and wait 10 seconds, but the problem persists.

-successfully paired and re-paired remote control, but the problem persists.

ATV shows a solid light when I push buttons, unless I come to this beach to two feet and then it flashes once as her answers ATV.

I have looked on the IR through the camera of my iphone, but don't see any red flashes... and yet the ATV receives the signal from the remote control if it is close enough.

Curiously, as part of my diagnosis, I noticed that the "UP" button had become insensitive, even from the beach which work the other buttons.

I have not dropped the remote or mistreated it somehow, so can't see why it would break suddenly without reason.

    I'm puzzled.

    Your troubleshooting sound research.

I would buy a new remote from Apple and try it.  They are $19.00.  If she is doing the same, the receiver IR of the ATC is responsible and return the new remote control within 14 days for a full refund.

If it works keep the remote control.

  • Apple TV remote stopped working - Apple TV 4 Gen

    Hello

My new Apple TV remote suddenly stopped working, I plugged into the adapter and then the apple popped up TV "device disconnected.  It seems that I fried it when I plugged it in.

I have tried all troubleshooting techniques suggested such as:

    1. turn on Apple TV

    2. hold down the menu and the volume button up for 5 seconds, while 3 inches in front of the Apple TV

3 try to connect via bluetooth.

4 plug the remote into the charger.

None of these techniques worked.  I think that the thing is fried somehow.

Any suggestions?  I have a warranty, do you think I can send just to the remote folder in Apple (not the apple TV with her) and get a new one?

Maybe that's a problem with the Apple TV rather than with the remote control.

    1. If you have an older remote from a previous model MacBook or Apple TV, you can use to restore the Apple TV, which, in many cases, has been sufficient to reactivate the remote Siri. You must complete all upward to undertake a restoration.
    2. If you have a USB cable - C you can try to restore by connecting it to iTunes on a computer.
    3. If you have tried all of these steps, is not a distance sooner or a USB - C cable or using them is too inconvenient, return to the store where it was purchased for a replacement.
  • remote control stops working

I have a 600PC Touchsmart with TV tuner comes with a remote control to control TV channels / volume... etc.

It worked well for about 12 months. Now, the remote control works well when the PC is first turned on, but then stops working after about 20 minutes.  Only, it works again when the PC has been activated and turn it back on.

I replaced the batteries and the remote control - but this happens again - which leads me to think that this is a problem in the PC itself.

This may or may not be connected, but at the same time - the wireless mouse has stopped working and I had to buy a different mouse wth a wireless transmitter, connected to a USB port and now works fine.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

    Hello jjf23,

To see if it solves the problem, follow these steps:

    1. "control Panel."

    2 system.

    3. "Device Manager."

4 expand "controllers of Bus USB"

5 right click on each of the items listed individually and select 'Properties' for each item. If there is a "power management" tab click on it. Make sure that the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power " unchecked.

6 click on "OK" and "restart" your computer.

If they are not already checked, simply reply with it.

    Thank you

  • Remote Desktop has stopped working suddenly Premium Ultimate

I used to be able to remote desktop to my laptop with Vista Home Premium on my desktop with Vista Ultimate. All of a sudden, it stopped working (March 09). I tried many steps of troubleshooting without success and I searched and searched online with no resolution. Help! I examined even the laptop to ultimate upgrade, but I seriously doubt that would correct the problem, since I should be able to remote desktop ON the ultimate machine (not in it, of course) and did so successfully for over a year... so far. I don't know what changed between yesterday and today, with the exception of Windows updates. No other software or hardware has been installed. The laptop has wireless and it works very well - I can access the Internet and the network with no problems at all.

Steps, I have taken/other info: (not necessarily in order - just write them as they come to me)
    1) reset all the workstations and the router (I have a 3rd computer which has XP also).
    (2) checked to make sure port 3389 is open on my router 2 and in the firewall (McAfee). Within McAfee, do ensure that the remote desktop program and service were allowed, both directions and on all the workstations. Also controlled canyouseeme.org to ensure that port 3389 is indeed open and he succeeded.
    (3) connection I tried with the firewall disabled on two workstations and always without success.
    (4) Made sure that on the host, the remote settings have been enabled and all users can connect, using any version of Windows. Also tried unchecking, reset and rechecked.
    (5) the user accounts on all workstations are directors.
    (6) the fact that the Terminal Server service has been started on the host. Tried them stopping and restarting.
    (7) tried ping - success in all directions by the two IP address and computer name.
    (8) network resources are available in all directions - I can see and access files shared all around.
    (9) installed all the Windows updates available. Reloaded later.
    (10) remote desktop from the laptop to the machine off XP is successful. Ultimate machine to XP is successful. From XP to ultimate is successful. The only one who does not work (and it's an important) is from the laptop to the machine by excellence. Argh!
    (11) even tried to restore the laptop provided the factory (tested - didn't work) and then through all Windows updates (test I went - never able to operate).
    (12) fact that Windows Firewall has been disabled on all workstations.
    (13) fact that network discovery, file sharing and public folder sharing is turned on.
    (14) RDP I tried with the name of the computer with the IP address.
What Miss me? The only thing I can think is that somehow one of Windows Update caused this problem, but my research online for someone else knows this at the same time me are coming short. So I'm completely confused and frustrated!
Thanks for reading my post, and I'd appreciate any help.
    Sally

I didn't need to post on the technet forum, because I have solved the problem. I decided to bite the bullet and just give my idea to try and hope for the best (created a first system restore point). The solution was so freakin ' easy... wonder why I couldn't find all the details on how to do...?

In any case; On the ultimate box (the one I am trying to remote desktop in), I opened the management console (mmc.exe) and add the Certificates snap, for the computer account, computer local. Double click on certificates, double click on the desktop folder remotely, double click on the Certificates folder and highlighted the certificate (there was only one, with the name of the computer as the title) and removed (first of all, I copied and put it in another folder, just in case where).

This solves completely the whole issue and workaround is no longer necessary.

I hope this helps someone else.

  • "Remote Desktop connection has stopped working" problem on Windows 7.

When I try to connect to one of my Windows 2003 servers from my Windows 7 Ultimate pc, I get an error:
"Remote Desktop connection has stopped working". It has something to do with the NLAapi.dll. If I rename this dll, TS works very well. I used the dll from another computer running Windows 7 RC and it works too, but in one of these two cases, while it corrects the TS connection, it causes other errors, maily with the network and sharing Center. Long story short, I think that there is a bug with nlaapi.dll. I can connect properly to my boxes of Windows XP SP3 servers. I ran all the updates on my 2 k 3 box, but still does not work.

  • Windows 7 Clipboard stops working when it is connected to the remote desktop

The two machines are Windows 7 SP1 with the latest updates.  Remote configuration is configured with the selected share clipboard.  The Clipboard works on the host machine until the remote desktop is started.  The Clipboard of the remote computer works without any problem.  Clipboard on the host machine starts working again when rdpclip.exe is interrupted on the remote computer.  If rdpclip.exe is restarted on the remote computer, the Clipboard of the host machine then stops working again.

I had similar problems with Clipboard in the past, but getting the two machines on a fixed day.  It seems more recent updates have created a new problem.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

The question could arise if the process is damaged and should be revoked on the remote computer to restore operation. I suggest you to try the following steps on the remote computer and check if the problem persists.

    1. Open Task Manager (right click taskbar and select Task Manager)
    2. Go to the process tab
    3. Select rdpclip.exe
    4. Click on end process
    5. Go to the Application tab
    6. Click on the new process
    7. Rdpclip type

  • Mouse Bluetooth stops working when you use Remote Desktop

Hello, I have a Dell i7 using Windows 8 and a comfort Sculpt bluetooth mouse.  The two work together well, but when I use remote desktop, the mouse stops working.  I have checked the logs of windows, but don't see anything apparent that would explain the bluetooth mouse to stop working with RDP.  Is this a known issue?  And is there a known solution?

Hi Sharief, thanks for the quick response!  I think that I could find my own solution to the problem.  I ended up remove the bluetooth driver that came with my Dell laptop and allowed the Microsoft Generic bluetooth driver to take charge.  The mouse now works like a charm, especially when I am using RDP.   I did have a problem again on the generic driver.  Thanks again!

  • MS Updates caused problems "Media Center has stopped working"

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

For some reason, thunderbird (windows 8) essentially has stopped working. More than one minute to open an email - all other functions have similar delays. I can't find my profiles on windows 8 to rebuild the database world.

Follow-up: McAfee was the problem. I contacted them via chat. Remotely, they took control of my computer and changed the settings. TBird works fine now.

  • on dv6 fingerprint reader has stopped working after installing Norton 2012

Fingerprint reader has stopped working after installing Norton Internet Security 2012 on both of my notebooks from HP.

    Product name: HP Pavilion dv6

    Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

Error message in Device Manager under biometric devices in Device Manager displays an exclamation mark beside validity sensors (WBF) (PID = 0018). The following message is under the general tab: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

Driver is present and seems to be up-to-date.

    Appreciate your help.

I have finally isolated the problem of my software lack of HP dv6 fingerprint reader. I think Norton Removal Tool, available online at www.symentec.com/nrt, was the reason. I am sure this conclusion because the exact same problem occurred after I installed Norton Internet Security 2012 on laptop HP same as my wife. I tried, in vain, to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the biometric fingerprint device provided by Validity Sensors, Inc.

After spending a day and a half to try to "solve" the problem, I decided to restore my system and go back to the prior agreement of the point of the installation of Norton. Thank you HP to make this process quick and painless. Don't forget that if you installed anything after the restore point, it will have to be reinstalled.

Fortunately, there's a less intrusive on CD of Norton removal tool. This utility uninstalls an older version of Norton you are requested to restart and then installs the latest NIS. It is a method of removal safer that wide brush offered by the Norton Online link, which wipes everything remotely suspect.

After reinstalling Norton Internet Security 2012 from the CD, everything works as it should, including the fingerprint reader.
