Vista Ultimate 64 hangs on resume from sleep or hibernation

I run a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 since the installation, I tried for a week to stabilize 'sleep' about 60% of the time, the system would crash on Resume from sleep. The motherboard lit up and the two leds of DVD would be cycle but no hard drive activity light and no post or video that I have to do a second switch 4 then reboot to start. sometimes twice.
So last night, I found an article on how to enable Hibernation with a command prompt, and I did.  Hibernate is now having the same problem. any help?

Dunka HI cottage

Try to change your setting of power for "EXAMPLE":

CA
45 minutes of sleep
Hibernate 1 hour
Disable hard drive EVER
battery
20 minutes of sleep
Hibernation of 25 minutes
Disable hard drive NEVER

Setting that allows you to 'Turn Off Hard Disk' to 'Never' windows hibernates to control of power off of the hard drive.

When my g6-1d21dx Pavilion was still fairly new, Windows 7 has started to hang whenever I tried to resume from standby or hibernation, and I couldn't get back to work until I held the power button down to force the computer to restart.

Now, I did a clean install of Windows 32-bit 10, and everything works fine, except for - big surprise - repeated from the previous day and hibernation. Windows 10 adds quick start to the mixture, which also does not work properly, probably because it's a similar feature.

HP already explained the cause of this problem, or provided a fix? The BIOS I have is F.49, but the projection of BIOS newer on the product page is a F.48. Maybe I need to reduce my BIOS? I saw a post where someone has talked to return to F.46 to fix very similar if not same problem on another model of Pavilion g6. In any case, anyone who is familiar with this issue?

    More details:

If the quick start is activated, whenever I put him computer have a BSOD and reboot. Usually, the error is unexpected_store_exception but I also had kernel_data_inpage_error a couple of times. The computer appears in the standby mode and Hibernate successfully, but when I try to resume it turns his wheels for a little while and then just restarts, usually without error message. For the moment, I have quick start disabled and sleep and Hibernate in my power options.

    Thanks for any relevant information.

The solution for me was to install F.46 revision of the BIOS. I got F.49, and the latest version available on the support site is a F.48. I don't know if there is a downside to this...

  • USB-232/4 causes Windows hang when wake from sleep

I have a problem of resumption of the functioning of the laptop that follows "sleep" or "hibernate".

With the connected USB-232/4, the computer does not return the Windows normally.  The display does not return (without backlight or external video output), but the LED indicators (bluetooth, disc, power, etc.) appear normal.  When I remove the USB from the USB-232/4, the display reverts immediately to the State before the mode 'sleep' activated.  Tried all 3 USB ports - all the same behavior.  No index by using the event viewer.

    Win 7 (64 bit)

Series NI 3.7, NEITHER VISA NOR spy 2.7.2 5.0.2 MAX 4.8

Serial port assignments seem to be OK:

    Port 1 - com15

    2 port - com9

    Port 3 - com16

    Port 4 - com8

Any suggestions on the next steps to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Solved the problem!

The BIOS has a setting in the section advanced to Wake Up capability.  Compatible USB S3 Wake.  Now, the USB-232/4 is powered over the recovery of the standby mode.  When this feature is disabled, the USB-232/4 light not upon resuming from sleep mode and probably hung up the pilot, preventing a normal recovery.

  • Satellite Pro A200GE-1F9 may not resume from standby or hibernation with SP1

    Hello

    Details of the laptop: [my laptop: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook ie = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 131911]

I recently used Windows Update to install SP1 vista on my laptop, but since this installation I can't resume from standby or hibernation. (Service pack has successfully installed - according to Windows anyway).

At the resumption of his sleep, I get a blank screen.

    During the recovery from Hibernation, I receive a STOP error message: + Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x82F11020, 0x9A9D9714, 0x00000000) + caused by * Classpnp.sys*.

After checking these forums, I have seen that Toshiba does not support SP1 + what is accurate? +

+ * If so when/how we will notify when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO? *. +

Before installing SP1, I installed all the updates (from Microsoft and Toshiba) and had no problems; all the drivers are up to date.

Thanks for any answers in advance.

I guess that this happens because of a problem of compatibility between some pilots and SP1

    > After checking these forums, I saw that Toshiba does not support SP1 is that correct?
    Yes it's true.

    > If Yes, when and how will notify us when Toshiba released a "patch" for compatibility Vista SP1? I'm guessing that via personnel TEMPO?
I think that there should be information on the Toshiba driver page, support page or we will receive some information of Toshiba through applications of Tempo.

  • The computer hangs after resume from hibernation

I bought a gateway in 2007 with Vista Home Premium. Great hibernation worked until 7 months after a windows update (I forget which). Now, when I resumed from hibernation, it restarts and comes up with the screen asking me if I want windows to start normally or in safe mode, etc. Any ideas of what could be the cause? Also now, after I try to bring it from being asleep, the screen is black and the computer does nothing. I have to then it reboot. Thank you.

    Hello Mlhargrave,

Thank you for posting.  I found the solution to the problem of you in a Thread here on this site.

We found that sometimes the BCD file may have problems.

You can try this to fix the BCD file.

    1. run CMD. EXE as administrator

    2. run the following command: bcdedit - enum all

Search for "Summary of Hibernate" in the output of the command above (example below):

    Out of the hibernation

    ---------------------

    identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}

    Device partition = C:

    path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe

    Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered)

    inherit {resumeloadersettings}

    FILEDEVICE partition = C:

    FilePath \hiberfil.sys

    PAE Yes

    debugoptionenabled No.

    3. Once you have found, copy the value of the identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963})

    4. run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

    5. test of hibernation.

Please let me know if this helps you.

  • Satellite P300-h-13 is not waking up from sleep and hibernation

My laptop (Windows Vista 32 bit) cannot wake up from its sleep or hibernation.
Laptop is on the mode of feeding.

However, once the screen is off (after 10 minutes), I am unable to wake up.
Cannot open the the Task Manager, Shut Down, nothing works, I see is a black screen, the disc access light flashing and the fan is running.

I find myself holding down the power button to turn off.
This is a recent development, it had to start when I installed Office 2010 on the laptop.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Since when did you notice this problem?
This issue was present after the installation of the system clean?

What is the BIOS? Is up to date?
I read in a few discussions setting the BIOS update can help with these similar problems.
So the update of the BIOS is definitely worth a try.

Also update the display driver would be recommended. Of course just in case you do not use the latest version.

By the way: Win 7 isn't an option for you? Windows 7 is a lot better and a lot of different issues that appeared in the Vista system, have been smeared in Win 7

  • Qosmio F20 with Vista: display is not wake up from sleep/standby

I hope someone can stop pulling my hair out - please!
I have a Qosmio f20-136 that I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. I managed to install Ultimate Visa on what actually works very well. I get a score of 3.4 Visa which means Aero works very well. The lowest score of void is actually the CPU (the 1.6 GHz Pentium M) with following 3D graphics to 3.9 with the Geforce Go 6600.

However, I have an annoying problem.
Hibernate works very well - he hibernates and returned very well. I have the power button set for the Hibernate now and also in the start menu power button.
If I close the lid it goes to sleep and when I opened the lid it picks up perfectly. There is the sound of a device connection / disconnection when I open and close the lid.

However, here's the problem. I would like to use the power button to sleep rather than hibernation and I don't want to wear and tear on the hinges of the screen by keep opening and closing the lid. So, I tried to set the power button to sleep and also tried selecting sleep in the start menu options. In both cases, the machine goes to sleep but then a problem when I try to resume.

The powers of the machine upward but the screen is black. Everything is alive, but I don't see anything.
If I unplug the power cable and plug again (which changes the brightness of the screen), then it comes to life. If I close and re - open the lid, it comes to life. Nothing else he raises.

Some would say that I'm picky because I'm almost there with vista, but I dearly would solve this issue. Can anyone help please.

Currently using the video driver 97.52. I installed the added G30 package (without the energy control) that works. FN buttons not working (although the multimedia keys - if anyone has a solution for that I wouldn't be thrilled!.) I tried support button for the G30 but does not work).

    Please help if you can.

  • S5000-204 W/WinXPPro is not resumed from sleep mode

I have a problem with the recovery of the standby mode:
After installation of raw WinXPPro SP2 to the system was ok and also the process to sleep / recovery.

Then I installed Toshiba and controls of Toshiba common modules and now when the system goes to sleep I can't resume: if I push the power on button, the system starts up but black screen... and I have to stop and restart.

    Can someone help me?

I have tried to remove the drivers toshiba and tools, re - apply sp2, reinstall the toshiba tools and so on with without success.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi matteor,

I have my opinion, it would be you helps to uninstall all drivers and tools and reinstall them in the right order.
On your Toshiba Tools CD is a file html with the order of installation. To use SP2 it would also be useful to download the drivers available from http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

There is also a PDF of drivers by using SP2 update

  • TM2 - Win7 hangs at the splash screen after waking from sleep and hibernation

I had intermittent problems with the mode 'sleep' on my laptop TM2T-2200 (Windows7 64-bit).  Wake up sleep & put into hibernation, the system will have problems with log-in intermittently.  Generally speaking, I'll be able to move my mouse cursor and enter my password - but pressing enter, the system hangs at the splash screen, requiring a hard - reboot (by pressing the power button).  Sometimes, I've not yet will be able to enter my password before it crashes.

The problem seems to occur more in energy saving mode, but it occurred in '' HP recommended Mode '' once or twice now, too.  It looks a lot like the problems reported for other models HP here:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-lockups-freezes-hangs/Pavilion-DM4-freezes-when-idle-and-after...

Any suggestions?  Is it possible to know if a particular driver or a program that hangs?

Update: my problems seem to be associated with protection against malware of Comcast constant guard and disappeared after uninstalling the program.

  • x 220 does not resume from sleep mode

A few questions posted here look identical, but I did find something similar.

About 10% of the time, the machine does not sleep.  When you open the cover, the power led Nightlight INDIGLO®, caps lock light, LED, mic mute light and light through a Flash every seven seconds or more.  No messages appear on the screen.  By pressing the power button does nothing.  After a forced shutdown (power longpress button), and then pressing the power button a times, I gives me the message on windows does not shut down properly with the choice to start in safe mode.

I'm not sure of the cause... I've updated everything that I can think of, but the problem persists (on an irregular basis).  The battery is too loose in the slot?  A jiggling of the batterery during sleep will cause an abnormal termination?

    The update of the Bios?

Connect the power adapter to the netbook.

  • Satellite don't wake up from sleep or hibernation when the lid is closed

It is a problem that I had with my laptop from the outset - if the laptop is in sleep or Hibernate mode and the lid is closed, or the lid is closed and will switch "standby" from there, it won't wake up or respond to the switch once again opened.

Even holding down the power button has no effect, the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery, put it back and turn the phone back on, lose anything I had opened.

I fear that the laptop could be damaged by this, but there is no other way.
This isn't a problem with the settings of windows, I had the same problem with the function suspends in ubuntu.

Anyone had similar problems or know anything than either could have caused this?

What model of Satellite L do you have exactly?
What system is pre-installed? Have you tested this problem with laptop recovery fees?

BIOS is up to date? If it is not updated in the BIOS.
After update BIOS, set the default BIOS and test the features of the laptop.
