  MacBook Pro with OS X using 10.11.4, I find that when "Edit Text" is opened from the dock icon, a "Finder" page is implemented!

  To open in a document window TextEdit empty when you click the icon in the Dock of TextEdit:

  System Preferences > iCloud Drive > Options > Documents

  Uncheck "TextEdit".

  Click on 'done '.

  Now, TextEdit will open to a new empty document.

• I have a strange text box appear on my screen

  I use Adobe Illustrator CS5, and it keeps setting up this strange text, almost like a translation box box

  I have never seen it before, but as someone who navigates illustrator almost exclusively with keyboard shortcuts, it makes the program almost unusable. I have to keep restarting the program, and he usually reappears within a few minutes of use. I don't know if I am accidentally by pressing a keyboard shortcut for it, but I can't get it on my work computer.

  Thanks for your answers for later use, if someone else has this problem, it was my EMI set up to change the language with the hotkey "alt + shift", which I only really use in Illustrator, so I have now deleted the dictionaries that I don't use, and keyboard shortcuts.

  Have you disabled images? Check Options > content and opposing Exceptions "load images automatically".
  Another possibility is that style sheets are disabled here. On this site, check the view menu > Page Style and ensure that 'no Style' is not checked.

• Strange behavior file open/create/replace

  Hi all

  I will make my question as broad as possible because I think someone must have met this behavior before. I use the function open/create/replace file to programmatically open a file, giving a path entry created in an earlier vi. Strange behavior, I see, is that although Labview returns 1 error when I give my file programmatically, it reads the file OK if I give as a constant. The constant path that I give is exactly the same as one I am tryinng to programmatically.

  Any suggestions? Is it to do with a string formatting problem? I enclose my portion of treated VI the path_in section.

  Wild guess: you must use 'build path' instead of 'concatenate strings' build path.

  (Also use a constant of diagram of the path (not a string!) to "c:\ni-rt\" and get rid of the "trim whitespace' and the 'chain of path")

  See if that makes a difference. (build path is OS independent, while the operations of independent channels are not).

  Never use the paths as strings. There are very few cases where this would be appropriate.

• Strange things happening: opening on their own programs, mouse clicks things I click...

  I had some strange problems on my Windows Vista laptop. He just started acting today. This time, I tried all sorts of scans, cleanings, controls problem, but nothing helped.

  It is quite difficult to describe, but basically the computer seems to act as if the mouse is which is clicked when I even touch it not. Thus, for example, then I click on the start menu or right click to bring up a menu drop down, it flashes briefly upward but then disappears. Or I run an application, and a box pops up saying: 'Are you sure you want to close this program' when I have not pressed on what. In Excel, I try to type something in a cell, but before I finished typing the text disappears (exactly the same happens when I type an address in the web browser). Sometimes a window will close only on its own.

  This is not the case all the time and even when it happens that I can still do a lot of normal stuff on the computer. But once it flows in the it does not seem to worsen progressively. Then, when it becomes too much and I have to restart the computer once it has restarted, it starts to get really loud constant beep, and I have to press F8 a few times to stop the ringing and bring up this menu of options (safe mode, etc.).

  I'm not particularly computer literature and have exhausted all avenues, I know that to solve the problems. There is no reference to this problem in other messages of the forum here. Any help would be much appreciated.

  My laptop has a touchpad, but I use a wired mouse. (And Yes, I tried a different mouse, the problem persists)

  It seems that the block of text on the left is not a rectangular frame. See the inset spacing, it does not allow to choose the top, the bottom and so on. This is perhaps the reason for your problem.

  You can adjust the opacity of your thumbnail image to 0. Make the text behind it. In this way, it seems that you click on the text, but in reality you still click on the image.   Using elements 6 Vista Home first 64 Service Pack 2

  Yesterday for some reason any, whenever I try to add the text as soon as I use 'e' followed by an 'r' as in 'Merry' the space between the e & r gets huge, I'd say about the same as 50 letters!

  E additional letter are normal spaced apart from each other but distant rest, removing extra e r is not the normal spacing but adding any other letter between the e and the r done restore spacing, remove the additional letters to exit e & r together and space reappears... As far as I can tell that it is a combination of letters that causes the phenomenon, which is strange and annoying.

  Any ideas what is happening and what is most important - how to return to normal letterspacing.
