Stuck at the screen 'failure of Windows update Setup.

I have reset my laptop Windows 8 and downloaded the updates required for Windows 8.1. Then I had to reboot my computer and configure updates. Now it is stuck at the screen 'failure of Windows update Setup. He has already restarted once and is back on the same screen. It is an Asus laptop and from what Ive read, this is not exclusive to all laptops Asus. I do not have any disk installation or any way to activate Safe Mode as I have tried (in fact something that requires search or any key entry does not work). I hope you guys can find a soultion, thank you

EDIT: I think that now it's in a forever continuous reboot, preparation configure updates, failed comfiguring cycle of windows updates.

  • FAILURE OF WINDOWS UPDATE SETUP

by mistake my roommate forcefully shuts my computer by updating windows and now I'm having the update configuration failure, even if the update of windows are installed... Please help me

    Hi Johny,

If you use computers OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and if you have the recovery with the hard drive partition, then I suggest you to restart the computer once or twice so that it will boot to the recovery options.

Auto repair can detect and solve certain types of problems in the system that might be preventing Windows to start.

To run auto repair using preinstalled recovery options:

    1. start WinRE. To do this, you must allow the system to the failure of the process of starting three times.
    2. in her choose an options screen, tap or click Troubleshooting.
3.next, press or click Advanced options, and then press or click on auto repair.

Automatic repair will launch and try to resolve problems that prevent Windows from loading.

If you are not able to boot to the recovery environment, then you must contact the manufacturer of your computer and get the recovery media.

Post us the results after trying the steps above.

You need to disconnect all your removable media to the computer, such as removable disks (Blu - ray disc, DVD, CD), the memory cards (CompactFlash, Secure Digital card, Memory Stick card), and USB flash drives.
These removable media can cause this problem during the restart of Windows.

  • Stuck on the screen of HP recovery and cannot start windows

    HP Pavilion

If you need the serial number or the fn, just ask. I didn't post too much sensitive information.

It was originally 10 64-bit windows... but now has 8.1 Windows 64-bit
    i5 8gig of RAM processor

Literally just close the lid and open it upwards and it wouldn't boot windows. It is stuck at the screen HP saying it's diagnose my problem. Tried a soft reset and a hard reset when you remove the battery and put it again while it is unplugged. Did not help. I can't start in safe mode. I tried to do a restore which has been a success but it restarts when he says "there was a problem, restart your PC. I'm frustrated and reset a factory and the same factory reset was successful and was when he came back to 8.1 because it's the OS, I bought it with but then it still wouldn't let me in windows. I was going to try and start to repair, but if I had known this would require an administrator I'd never have done the factory reset. I know I've been reckless, but I just wanted to work. But yes, I don't know what the problem is. I feel like if it was a hardware problem is just something to keep windows to operate. Should I try a repair disk? Would that help?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post you need to grab your laptop and wanted to help - but we need more information.

You said that your laptop came originally with Win10, but then later, you said you tried to go back to Win8.1, you can then said, it's the original OS.

So, who was the original - Win8.1 or Win10?

Ask because if it came with Win8.1 and you UPGRADED to Win10, while Microsoft tells you that there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always go back to your original OS and setup within 30 days, the ugly matter faction is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when it fails She can let the machines in a corrupt State - which is not always the case, it happens often enough to be a problem, but you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

The Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt the partition of recovery that are stored by the OEM that built the original machine.  It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media. It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

    Good luck

  • For about two weeks screen installation 18 Windows updates at the stop.

For about two weeks when I shut down Windows 7, I get the message that Windows installs updates 18; do not to stop the computer.   The screen shows that each update is installed and the computer then goes to the closure program.  Installation time is always the same, which indicates that there may be a problem and I see the same updates on a daily basis.

I did some research on anti virus program bundled in this machine.  I thought I had seen the McAffe program, but apparently, he was anti Norton virus.

The procedure will be similar, Yes:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4 uninstall AVG Free 9.0 & reboot.

HOW to uninstall or change a program
         http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/uninstall-or-change-a-program

ATTENTION! Now you're "working without a net": no to anything else online (e.g., navigation, control electronics, cat, other downloading) until you have completed the steps #5 and #6 below!

    5. now to do a fresh install of AVG Free 9.0, this time select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (uncheck) Linkscanner Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, security or the email of crawl components toolbar.

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
         http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

    6. manually and regularly update AVG until you get a prompt "no more updates available.

    7 test cycle.

Note: If you also think there could be a McAfee application installed at a certain point, he could not not bad for download/run the McAfee tool, too, before proceeding to the 'custom' own installation of AVG 9.0.

Most of these modules of 9 AVG is not compatible with IE8 IMHO (especially LinkScanner). Do yourself a favor & don't install them.

my laptop is s200e asus PC with the built in language unique window 8.

My problem is when I wan upgrade to 8.1 of the shop window, it say I need to update the update of the window.

but the problem occurs when I updated, and then "failure of Windows updates. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer. »

but the return is seem endless, coz I wait for a whole day... .but it will be not just finish.

I can do nothing but reset it back to the factory.

I can't update 8.1 store window without updating the window.

You do not add features to upgrade 8 > 8.1

That's the Pro and Media Center that do not need another product key and that are no longer available.

And the creation of media for 8.1 works; I just checked it a minute ago.

    See you soon.

  • computer is stuck in the screen that lets you choose Safe mode or start normally

    Original title: stuck

My computer is stuck in the screen that lets you choose Safe mode or start normally. When I choose that it just goes back to the same screen. stuck in this screen

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu you want to see, he has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.
