Support for 64-bit OS in Virtual PC?

Will there be support for 64-bit operating system running in Virtual PC? Alan Cameron

Please ignore these messages of my friends. I found the answer elsewhere.
Virtual PC does not support 64-bit clients.
I need to be
Hyper-V
VmWare
or
VirtualBox
So I'm going to evaluate these for my purposes.

  • Imported the Parallels VM, now I get "BusLogic SCSI adapter is not supported for 64-bit customers."

I have a virtual machine 64-bit Fedora 16 that I use in Parallels Desktop.  During my first installation of VMWare Fusion 5, I had the opportunity to import this VM.  I did that, but when I boot, the virtual machine is suspended.  I went to the configuration of the virtual machine in VMWare and fixed a few things than the failed import.  Now I when I start the VM, I get this dialog box:

The BusLogic SCSI adapter is not supported for 64-bit guests.

I searched on the web and this forum, and I can't find information on solving this problem.

I do not necessarily first as suggested by the other answer on this subject and instead, add the following line to the configuration of the Virtual Machine's .vmx file.

    scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic"

This should fix the error message that you get without having to directly edit the hard.  Take a look at: changing the file .vmx for your VM from VMware Fusion (1014782)

That said, if you want detailed according to the existing real configuration recommendations then... To help understand what components are, how best to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the command "Collect information to Support" the Fusion of VMware (menu bar) > help > collect Support information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your desktop for a response post.

  • Support for 64-bit driver for Windows 7 for Deskjet 6540 and Colorsmart D5360

Or 64-bit Windows 7 drivers for the Deskjet 6540 nor the Photosmart 5360 supports the maintenance function is now impossible to clean the print heads. Two of these printers worked fine when they were connected to my XP machine. At HP dumbed down these drivers? Is there a separate program or sequence of façade which will do that for one of these printers?

    Thank you

I do not know the D5630, but for the Deskjet 6540 you can do a cycle of cleaning of the façade, as follows: turn on the printer.  Press in and hold the power button, then press the Cancel (X) button twice, then release the power button.

Note that it rare to * never * need to perform a cleaning on the HP cartridges cycle, it would be unusual to the same need forced into the life of the cleaning cartridge.  Perform unnecessary cleaning cycles will use ink and shorten the life of the printer.

  • VCenter 4.1 update - support for 64 bit Windows 2008 R2

Hi, I was wondering if VCenter 4.1 supports Windows 2008 R2 64-bit?  OR if it supports up to Windows 2008 64-bit (Service Pack 2)?

Noticed a large number of entries of knowledge, but many of them are former comments so just look for the current level of support.

    Thank you

    HCC says:

My SQL Server 2005 is external and I executed the script to check the inconsistencies and that returned nothing, so I guess I can just run the datamigration for backup tool and install the VCenter on the new hardware.

There is no need to run the data migration tool.  You connect to an external DB, that identify only in your installation.  The schema will be upgraded and your inventory will be back as usual.  Just make sure you have a full backup.

  • ESX 4.1 on work/pick-up station supported for 64-bit guests

First off I started on the path to my VCP. I never really knew that all that VMWARE could make up to a little forced in the equation to learn and master as soon as possible. Very impressed by what I've seen so far. Workstation is a fabulous tool and ESX is visible as a very powerful.

Sorry if this is the bad forum\has was discussed.

I built environments at home using the workstation 7. With the help of Intel i7 930, 12 GB ram, windows 7 64 bit, VT turned on in the bios.

I built an ESX Server in workstation. I SSH'd in my ESX Server and downloaded an ISO file of Windows 2008 R2 64-bit edition. I can show in the properties of the cd and to boot from the ISO image of my data store. When I power on the virtual machine, I get an error saying that VT technology must be activated... continue without support 64-bit.

Can I run 64-bit servers in a virtualized (huh?) virtual environment (ESX4 loaded into my computer, then created in ESX virtual machine)

It is not that big of a deal if I don't want to form an understanding as to why this is not possible. Thank you all

    • Only 32-bit clients can be installed to run as virtual machines nested within an ESX host. These virtual machines can only be configured to use binary translation.

  • Hardware support for 64 bit guest OS?

    Hello

I plan to set up a server running VMWare Server or ESXi and I try to understand the hardware requirements for running 64 bit guest OS.

Currently I have a motherboard ASUS P5K - V and will get an Intel Q6600 processor clocked in a few days. I'd like to run a fedora OS as host and run Windows 2003 or 2008 as a 64-bit client, but I don't know if the motherboard supports VT and other requirements necessary for this?

URL to the site of ASUS' display information about the Board of Directors is: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ILTh1fZDCOAEjPcB#.

Can someone give me some advice on this subject? Or should I get another mother card to be sure?

    Thojo

    Yup looks that way.

The manual suggests that the VT is enabled by default, but I would go in the bios, just to confirm.

    Have fun.

  • fist in the function call? and support for 32-bit system?

Hi, can someone tell me if

    (1) the hearing of 2014 version version "punch in" back? Ive tried hearing cs6 (its great) but jumped to audition 3.0 due to missing punch in.and loop recording.

    (2) position 2014 work on 32-bit systems and a membership is necessary?

    (1) fist in OK kick worked on CS 6 and is always there in 2014 of CC. But automatic loop recording is not in the new version, I think.

    (2) No, hearing of the CC version requires 64-bit system. And yes the latest versions cannot be bought outright. You must have an Adobe Cloud subscription in order to use one of the versions of the software Adobe CC.

  • Satellite Pro P100 - support for 4 GB of RAM in Win7 64 and Intel Virtualization

Hello to the members of the forum,

I have the Satellite Pro P100 (PSPAHE - 002001GR) and I installed the WIN 7 Enterprise 64 free trial. I have Modules of memory 2 x 2 GB Corsair, a T7400 processor and Bios version 4.7. Everything works fine without their memory. Known BIOS all 4 GB, Windows see it uses but only 3 GB. I know im not alone with this problem, but I have not found a solution to solve it. In msconfig, all right, there's max, and the number of processors. RAM not activated.

If someone knows a way to work to use all 4 GB of installed Ram?

I would be much obliged if anyone can help.

Something else. Intel VT - X is not enabled by BIOS. Also, there is no option to do this. When I bought the laptop it is a feature that I want to use, and now the BIOS does not support it. Why didn't pay much for the laptop so characteristic specific card do not work propably?

Thanks to everyone for reading my post and want to help.

    SOFC

    Hello

Perhaps than that you seem stupid now, but I think that this model laptop was never supported for 64-bit operating systems, and I think the BIOS is also not designed for this.
If you wish, you can call Toshiba nearest service and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and they can check it for you.

  • VMware converter 4 support for partitions on dynamic disks

I currently have a server physical windows 2003 which has its system and data partitions defined as dynamic disks (C and D partitions lie on disk 0-dynamic) not well why it's set up this way, it was built just like that.

The goal is to convert this virtual server and I read many forums stating that dynamic disks are not supported for vmware converter, but some cases have succeeded where the target score was a record time-basic-but-now-dynamics.

Is this the case? and if so, what alternatives can be tried to virtualize the server.

Dynamic disks are supported for Windows.  The resulting virtual machine will only basic disks in a hot clone.

I would just suggest that you make a clone of hot regular and do a slight reduction in the size of the disc resulting (even if it is 1 MB).

Second, ensure that the system starts out of the c:\ partition and it is marked as a partition active and has a file boot.ini in the root.

    Kind regards

  • View customer and Agent for 64 bit?  Windows 7? Vista? XP?

    Hi all

The documents to see 3.1.2 and 4.x show NO support for 64-bit operating systems.  What is happening with this?

We use Windows XP 64 bit for ProE a 3D mechanical CAD package.  I am sure that we are not the only company that has the memory required to go from 32 bit to 64 bit.  SPREP is a pig on Vista, Vista x 64 is really a dead-end.  Windows 7 x 64 is perhaps too recent.  It will never support for XP (Server 2003) Windows 64-bit?

Yes, I'm sure that performance will be fine, otherwise we just buy more servers Dell R905 with 128 GB of ram for engineers. Buy more servers and their distribution to users are cake, replace all machines in a Department every 3 years is a PITA!

    Thank you

    The average user

VMware View 4 does support Windows XP x 64 so I guess they also gave support to Vista x 64.  The program will be installed in the Program Files x 86 folder, but it will work unlike some verisons permeable who gave an error message about the software not being not not compatiable with the version of the operating system that you are running.  One thing to note is that the view Portal still does not support x 64 OS, but the stand-alone installation only.  In addition, the VMware View client and the agent with support offline does not install on Windows 7.

  • OWB 11 g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) for 64-bit Windows Server 2008 available?

    Hi team,

We have a windows machine *(Windows 2008 Server 64 Bit) * set for OWB development and where we have installed 11 g R2 Oracle Client. Now, we would like to install (Oracle Warehouse Builder) OWB 11g R2 (11.2.0.1.0) compatible for Windows Server 2008 (64-bit). But when I checked the OTN site, I only managed to find support for 32-bit Windows OWB 11g.

Can anyone suggest if OWB 11 GR 2 is able to support * 64-Bit Windows Server 2008 *?

I don't know if this is the right place within the Forum to post this question, so please direct me to the Group of concern (OWB).

Appreciate your support. Thanks in advance.

You should check the installation guide and the release notes for more information. You can also turn to MOS, if you have access to support, for the certification of product/platform.

  • ESXi 4.0 on Dell 1850 this host doesn't support VT you have configured the virtual machine to use an operating system 64-bit client.

    Hello

, I have in 3 data centers Dell 1850, identical hardware configurations.  I installed Esxi 4.0 to the ISO from site Web de VMware dell custom help. He is successfully installed on all servers, without error at all. I've updated them all to the last generation, using VMware vSphere Client. I have a problem with one of the server when I want to use 64-bit machines, he realizes: this host does not support VT you have configured the virtual machine to use an operating system 64-bit client.  However, this host is not able to run 64-bit virtual machines or virtual computer has 64-bit support disabled. For more information, see http://www.vmware.com/info?id=152. I don't understand why I got this, servers are identical, versions of BIOS, firmware, and all updates are the same. There is also a warning in the configuration tab, on the State of health link.

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestion.

Yes according to the description of CPU, it seems that they do not support intel VT:
