SX 20 TC5.1.3 to TC7.3.7 upgrade, need to release key

I get an error message saying missing key release when I'm doing an update via the Web interface on our Sx20 to version TC7.3.7 of TC5.1.3. I think that the use of the output in version 6.1.3 key but it seems that I still need a release key when upgrading v5.1.3. No idea how to get there?

Hello

You need a key to unlock if you go directly from TC5 to TC7 or u to level 6 TC5

But if you upgrade to TC7 TC6, then u will not need a key to unlock.

You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    *c xConfiguration Video Wallpaper: Waves
When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.
  • C60 ASSISTANCE

Partner has a c60 and tried to pass to TC7.3.0... the problem was he ran the upgrade without the release key and it should have error but didn't and now it is looted.

Does anyone have the syntax to choose between particians to get back to the old version of software...

I remember I have to stop the process of starting within the Break command and what to choose?

    Appreciate any assistance.

    VR

Should not need to enter a key to unlocking unless it is of a quite old version upgrade - think that this requirement changed around TC6.2 or so, if after this only a valid service contract is required.

in any case, I take it he can't access the web gui? If he can, then the system can be recovered by selecting for Exchange Maintenance/System/Recovery recovery software - system will restart then with the previous software.

You can select the version of the software to load using ssh etc, command is selectsw, and this should give you a list of the versions of installed software, select the one you want and then re - start.

  • TC7 Bug upgrade

    Hey all,.

There seems to be a bug with some improvements TC7.  I upgraded a C40 & EX90 were the two TC6.3 running with keys to unlocking TC6 TC7 valid I lost the following in the web interface.

    • Experimental section is missing

      • Which means that I can not remove the error message 8 Tough wrong on my C40 which has no touchscreen
    • Release key field is missing maintenance-> upgrade to the software section

Experimental has been removed from the web gui, but you can stil CLI it if you wish.  If you know the name of the field, you are looking for, you can just type the search button in the GUI and it will show again.

If you switch to TC7, RK are not mandatory for the upgrades more spent TC6.2 I think, if you have a key for TC6 +, you should be good for other upgrades, but confirm.

  • Impossible to pass TC6.2 and TC7.3 versions

I don't know if I'm the only one who saw this problem, but I noticed that trying to upgrade an end point of series C of TC6.2 and earlier to TC7.3, the upgrade impedes on hooks post installation of installation package I had to restart the codec manually, update before moving on to TC7.3 to TC6.3.

Anyone else having this problem or know why this is happening?

    Thank you!

Make sure that you upgrade by using the correct pkg file:

S52000tcx_x_x.pkg is for the C Series codecs

S52010tcx_x_x.pkg is for generation codecs SX20

S52020tcx_x_x.pkg is for generation codecs SX80

Also try to update to the latest s52000tc6.3.4.pkg first before moving on to the v7.

  • C / SX / EX / MX upgrade paths

    Hello

I have been the scene of c20 upgrades via the GUI and CPC, 4.x > 5.1.1 > > 7.3.2 7.1.1 hopping. 3rd party support told me that this is the way to upgrade the C20s.

I struggled to find any documentation to confirm this upgrade path to 7.3.2. I'm about to proceed to the upgrade C40s and 60 with SX / EX / models MX.

I'm looking for the validation of the document confirm how best to spend to 7.3.2 on all of the above models.

I looked at the release notes do not seem to talk about any version of jump requirement.

    Thank you

    B

You can go directly to the current version of the TC software without having to jump several releases to get there.  You'll just need to get the keys to unlocking the Cisco Licensing Portal TC7.x and apply it on the codecs, before doing the upgrade.  Applying the unlock key invites you to restart, you can disregard and go directly to download TC as the upgrade to restart anyway endpoint and apply the release key at the same time.

Note, it is important that you read well ALL the TC release notes for the current version, you have up to TC7.  There are several versions where changes have been made that could be important to you.  Some of these changes are:

    • TC5.x - required serial connection is by default enabled (important only if you use control 3rd party such as Crestron or AMX systems)
    • TC6.x - layouts have changed, especially when using two screens with presentation and selfview.
    • TC7.x - Root access has been removed (I noticed that mention you SCP that requires root access), also instantaneous behavior has changed over the previous day.
  • How to load firmware on SX20?

Someone at - it a link to the documentation on loading the firmware on the SX20. I'm having a difficult time finding. With the download release notes don't say much.

Any help would be much appreciate.

    Thank you.

The whole process is the same, but slightly different on where in the web interface, you'd download software.  Take a look at the "Upgrade of the system software" section of the SX20 Administration Guide for the version of the software you are currently using.

If the SX20 is running TC6.0 or on the bottom and you're upgrading to the foregoing TC6.1, you will need a key to unlock, can be obtained from the Cisco Licensing Portal > obtain other Licenses > telepresence Software Release Key.  Note, after TC6.1, release keys are no longer required, only an active service contract is required to download the software of Cisco.com.  If you you are upgrading within the same major version, such as TC7.0 to TC7.3.3, you do not need a key to unlock.

  • SX20 UNLOCK KEY

    OK Please help... CISCO began...

The EX and C series upgrade procedure is so easy... Add version key and then you spend...

I thought I was going to be a good guy and accesses the SX Series... 'ERROR'... we order and pay for a kit SX20 and install and start it and low and behold... NO INSTALLED RELEASE KEY.

Then I go to the site of CISCO license and get what I believe to be a key.  Open a browser and 'NO PLACE TO add THE KEY'...

    HHHEELLLPP!

I'm a fool cause I can't find the place to add the key to unlock for TC7.3.1...

    Where is TANDBERG... :(

    YEP FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY...

    Thank you.

Watching the SX20 Admin Guide on pg 49, starting with TC7, they removed the option key to liberation from the web interface.  I guess because they have changed the way unblocking keys work after TC6.1, that they did not see the need to maintain the option in the web interface, because netering a key to unlocking to make software updates is now irrelevant.  You can always use SSH to enter the key to unblocking if.

  • Firmware upgrade quick adjustment TC6.2 in TC 7.0.2 SX20

    Hi all

I ve got a question about a Quick Set SX20 Codec.

I would like to make an update of TC6.2 TC 7.0.2 but I don't know how to back up and restore the unlock key and press the option key.

And my TMS worm 14.3.2, worm X7.2 VCS system, if I update the firmeware TC7.02 codec SX20--> is it supports?

wolud be thankul for your help.

You must have an active service contract on your device to you give right to the upgrade of the software of TC.

You will not need a new key to unlocking with the version TC6.1 or later (you can pass TC6.2 to TC7.0.2 without requiring a new sense key).  You have no need to "backup and restore" the keys either because they are not affected by an upgrade (although it is always good to have noticed them somewhere just in case).

If you have the SX20 TC7.0.2 software available in your TMS, you should be able to deploy it to your device without any problem, or to install new software via another method (Web Interface / WinSCP / etc).

And, Yes, there is no problem of support when you use TMS version 14.3.2 with VCS X7.2 TC7.0.2.

  • UPGRADE EX, SERIES C WITH TMS 15.1.0

I'm in TMS 15.1.0 and started using the upgrade feature.  I am able to upgrade my MXP without problem but failed to get the series EX or C upgrade TC7.3.3.   I have the keys to unlock for TC7.3.5 but when I try to execute an upgrade to the EX60 or C90, it won't work.  they are on TC7.3.3 and I tried it without adding the key, and also with the addition of the key.  I have SSH open to monitor all activity on the codec but nothing?  I perform an upgrade on the EX60 locally of the system itself, and he succeeds, so the file is a .pkg good...

Are their all the settings on the EX and the C to make sure of? So then what?

A few more things I can think off on the top of my head you should check/try:

Your end points have valid DNS servers defined on them which can resolve the domain name of your server TMS?

If they are not, TMS will be telling them to seek an upgrade of the software, but the end point will never be able to download the software, if it cannot resolve the correct domain name/URL.

If it is OK, then you can try to enable extended logging endpoint and the launch of an upgrade and see if you can see the upgrade message itself said knock endpoint on the packet capture it performs.

You can also view the log files of endpoint, you should also see something like this (just to capture on one of my friends):

Another thing you can check is the HTTPS VerifyServerCertificate parameter on the endpoints (under Configuration, Network Services, HTTPS). If it is enabled, change it OFF, just in case one of your server certificates is invalid or expired and try again. If it works, then you know a setting that can make work, or that you have to solve your certificates. Wayne - don't forget the frequency responses and mark your question as answered as appropriate.
  • Software Version Upgradation

    Hi Experts,

We have Cisco VC configuration with details as below:

    1. Control of VCS with version X.7.0.1
    2. MCU 4501 with software version 4.2 (1.46)
    3. Codec C40 with version TC4.2.1.265253

The existing installation works independently and not integrated with Cisco Call Manager. Now, since we need to integrate VC with Call Setup Manager 10.5, so, we must update the versions of above material according to the link thebelow

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/uc_system/unified/communications/system/versions/IPTMtrix.html#pgfId-1163447

So, my question is on the pre-requistie to keep in mind as any DRAM or we can simply upgrade to the latest version now and later on we can upgrade integrate with Call Manager 10

Finally, I can find the firmware TC6.3.3 and TC7.3.0 to C40. Which one should I go to?

    regds,

    Aman

You can go directly to TC 6.x or TC7.x if you want to, with all the different security issues, probably the best going with the latest version of the software. Just need a version key valid since it is a major release of the version you currently have.

Looking to register your telepresence to CUCM codecs? If so, suggest you read Administration of running TC7.2 on 10.5 UCM endpoints.  If you plan to save your end points of CUCM, you CUCM destined firmware.  If you plan to save your VCS or use as a standalone codec, then the software package that you have surrounded in your image, it is what you want.

VCS will require a release key as well, since it will be a major version upgrade, the latest version is X8.5 that came out last month. MCU requires that no key release at all, so you can improve it without concern.

If you have valid support contracts you can get the keys to release of Cisco Licensing Portal, select "Get the other licenses", then "Telepresence Software Release Key.

  • Refresh your 5.1.8 to 7.3.3 C40

    Hi all

I'm upgrading codec c40 TC to TC 7.3.3 5.1.8.  I downloaded release key and TC 7.3.3 soft.

If a problem occurs during the upgrade so that I can restore a course? Is there option for restoring, if yes then how.

    Please help me on this.

    Deva

You can switch back to TC5 if you find that for some reason, you want or need.  There are always two software images stored on the codec, the current image of the software active and a second.  When software updates are performed, the upgrade will overwrite that is inactive or image and after upgrade the version of the software that you run will become the second inactive image and you can switch to this second image, if you need a reason any.  Note, a factory reset will erase the software 2nd image stored on the codec.  See the C40 Administration Guide on page 58 for more details.
