Sync with iPhone iOS9 IOS10

Hi all

I have an iPhone 6 with iOS10 on it, but I'm about to receive one with iOS9 (with more disk space), and I would like to know if it was possible to synchronize all content that I had on the previous (accounts, text messages, snapchat memories etc.) to the new, free update to ios10.

I kind of liked iOS9 and I would like to continue using it for a while.

Any ideas?

Best regards

Ilimano

Hello Ilimano,

Looks like you get another phone but not update to iOS 10 and to synchronize the content from your old device. While you will not be able to restore a backup from a device with a new version of the iOS to one with an earlier version, you will be able to synchronize the content you have in iCloud.

http://www.Apple.com/icloud/Setup/iOS.html

As for any content sync you to iTunes on your current phone, you will be able to synchronize this content even in iTunes in the same way you did before:

Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer through a USB port

    Hey Tux Kapono,

I understand that you have updated to macOS Sierra, and now you can not send SMS messages. I know it's nice to be able to have continuity in your messages on devices, so I'm happy to help you.

There are a few settings that should be checked to make sure that everything is correctly configured for this feature. This article has more information on the subject:

Use continuity to connect to your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple Watch - Apple Support

Set up SMS and MMS messaging

Use this feature with any Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that satisfies the requirements of continuity system. Make sure that your devices are configured as follows:

    • Each device is connected to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
    • On iPhone, go to settings > Messages > Send and receive. Make sure the Apple ID at the top of the screen is the same Apple ID you use for iMessage on other devices. Add a check to your address, phone number, so that you can be reached by both iMessage. Do the same on your iPad or iPod touch.

  • Sync with iPhone and Bluetooth streaming

    Hi all

I synced my iPhone with my iTunes music library, but many songs can not be stored directly on the phone because of a lack of storage space.  However, I still see those who do not have to store and play them from the phone, even when I'm away from my computer bluetooth.

I wonder if I can resync so that some songs are stored on the phone but I can play them anyway.  Which would free up a lot of memory on the phone.  Seems there should be a way to do this.  I posted a similar question on the forum of the iPhone, but the only suggestion I got was to subscribe to Apple music or iTunes game.

    Any ideas appreciated!

You could use home sharing which is over wi - fi.

iOS: set up home sharing on your device - https://support.apple.com/HT202190 - ' with home sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can listen to your iTunes library all over your home Wi - Fi network from your Mac or PC to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. "

If they are purchases on the iTunes Store, you can be re - download the unknown for you over wi - fi or a stream and playing them from your device.  This only works for Apple purchases and if you want to extend this to other elements of the music, you will need to subscribe to one of the above services.

  • Contacts do not sync with iPhone

    Hi-

I have recently updated to Snow Leopard to El Capitan (five operating systems in a jump!  Yikes!).  Little by little, I'm working on the kinks...  And here's one:

When I change an element in a field on a contact in the Contacts, the change appears (if any) on the web at https://www.icloud.com/#contacts, but it does not appear on my iPhone (5 c; iOS 9.2.1) even a week later.

    On my iPhone:

    Settings-> iCloud-> Contacts-> in the

Settings-> Contacts-> [I don't see anything that could relate to this problem.]

On my MacBook Pro (mid-2009; 10.11.3 MacOS):

Sync with iTunes 12.3.2.35 works but does not solve this problem.

iTunes-> my iPhone-> settings (left panel)-> info-> Contacts Sync says:

Your contacts are being synchronized with your iPhone on the airwaves to iCloud.

On-line synchronization settings can be changed on your iPhone.

I would like your suggestions for this research problem.

    -Gil

It's working now.  I fiddled with the settings using http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html as a guide.  The thing that did it, I was, on my iPhone, I got to settings-> Mail, Contacts, calendars-> GMail-> Contacts-> IT.  I turned it off.  I think that's what I did.   In a few minutes, I had duplicate for each contact entries on my iPhone.  For contacts that I had changed on my MacBook Pro, an entry was old, a new.

Back on my Mac, I selectedContacts-> map-> Look for duplicates... It found 930 duplicates.  I chose to merge, then manually modified entries recently modified to remove outdated information.  In a few minutes, the Contacts on my iPhone fell in line.  Now, everything's fine.

This behavior has only just begun. Some time ago I synced my iPhone 6 SMS messages with the Message app on my Macbook using only my phone (via iCloud) number. Later, I disabled the account. • iTunes App updates are no longer sync with iPhone

I'm in iOS 9.2 on my iPhone and iTunes 12.3.2.35 64-bit on Windows 10 Pro.  It was that when I updated my apps on the iPhone and then sync the phone with iTunes, applications would be update automatically in iTunes and then appears in the Recycle Bin, ready to remove older versions of applications.  In this case is no longer, so now I have to update the applications on the iPhone and iTunes separately if I want to update Apps in both.  What is the purpose of this?  Why double our efforts?  I tried to update Apps in iTunes first and then running synchronization.  Applications updates appear then to be transferred to the iPhone while sync ("transfer Apps... 1 of 4... [Application name] "), but then when I finished the sync and see the updated section of the applications in the App Store on the iPhone, they always appear not updated, with a red circle on the App Store icon indicating the number of applications that need to be updated, and the word"Update"still alongside the Apps in question in the updated App Store section.  What gives?

In addition, in iTunes, in the [my iPhone] / Summary / Apps section, I used to see all of my Apps in the left column, but see only 20 of them.  All 100 + Apps are still displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, which reflects the layout of my iPhone windows, but I discovered that, in order to restore all applications in the left column, I had to go to my account name in iTunes at the top of iTunes then click on purchase and then re-download applications.  Why on Earth?  They who don't take up much room on my SSD and they are already on the iPhone, so there is no saving space on the iPhone by showing only not all applications in the left column, so what gives?  What's the point?

Please return to the process where when I sync my iPhone my Apps are updated automatically in iTunes.  Why do you do the doubly difficult process?  And, what's now the sync at all, if I don't have photos or new playlists or something like that on my machine I want to synchronize with the iPhone?  There is no synchronization, then, and so unless I have no particular reason to synchronize then I don't be backup versions of the database of the iPhone on my machine on a regular basis!  Apple, you get an Apple rotten to me!  I thought you were all make tech easier to use, more confused!

A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. I hope that Apple will bring some changes to how it works, but in the meantime, you can download past purchases from iTunes or activate the automatic shopping app downloads to ensure that iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. As long as you make sure that all of the apps are present and updates in iTunes before you attempt a restore there should be no loss of data. I cannot confirm, but it seems a way to recent update all data are restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting to download from the iTunes Store over Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works.

For more information on move your library and all the backups of device iOS out of your SSD storage space, see make a library of portable split .

  • 12.3.2 iTunes stuck on sync with iPhone 6 iOS 9.2 amendments pending to be applied

My daughter recently updated its MacBook Pro for Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and she has a 6 - iOS 9.2 replacement iPhone. She's trying to synchronize his phone to his MacBook Pro with iTunes and it keeps stuck at step 7 of 7 - for waiting for changes to be applied. They are never applied and iTunes crashes. Any suggestions?

    Hi alp1116,

When the synchronization process hangs at step 7, it is usually indicative of a problem with what is called the "iPod Photo Cache". It is a folder that contains the converted versions of the images that are be synchronized with the device in question, whether an iPad, iPod or iPhone. Lets remove this folder so that it can be regenerated and will not result in the loss of any data.

  • Problem with iPhone and iPad ios10 connect with iTunes version 12.2.2

Yesterday, I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to ios10 successfully. However, when I try to connect to my Macbook OSX version 10.7.5 running with iTunes version 12.2.2.25 it gave me this error "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because an invalid response was received from the device." I got the same error when I connect my iPhone as well.

Now I can't restore my iPad or iPhone in low-grade IOS because iTunes can not see my devices.

Someone at - it this experience after upgrade to ios10?

    Hi Had3s,

I understand that after updating to iOS 10, your MacBook is more recognized in iTunes. I know it's important to be able to sync your iPhone with iTunes, so I'm happy to help you.

Read this article that covers some common troubleshooting for this issue:
If iTunes does not recognize your iPhone, iPad or iPod - Apple Support

Note that the likely cause here is an older version of iTunes. Since iOS 10 is still new, it is important to have the latest version of iTunes installed. Currently, it is 12.5.1, that requires OS X 10.9.5 or later version must be installed:
iTunes - download iTunes - Apple

Since you currently have OS X installed 10.7.5, you'll want to update to OS X as well. You can see more info on how to upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS X here:

  • Once I update my phone to iOS9 will always sync with iTunes on my iMac with OS 10.7.5?

Hello, my name is Catherine and I have a few questions. First of all, where I am and where I want to go:

I have an iMac end of 2006 with OS X Lion installed, which is the most recent this computer can manage, if I understand correctly.

My iPhone is a 4S which currently still holds iOS6 (6.1.3) installed. I want to upgrade to iOS9.

    Now the questions:

The iPhone 4S is compatible with iOS9? If so, can upgrade directly to iOS9, or do I need to step it up?

Once it is upgraded to iOS9 will always sync with iTunes on my old iMac?

Any advice on this process are appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my request.

    Catherine

Side note: it was strangely difficult to determine which community/category for this post, so if this is not the right pair, pointing me in the right direction would be more useful. Thank you!

You need at least OS X 10.8.5 (not 10.7.5) or later version to use iTunes 12.3 which will supported iOS 9.

    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/download/

Yes, the iPhone 4S turn iOS 9 (but the iPhone 4 does not work).

It syncs with your old Mac?  It depends how old.  The Mac must be running at least OS X 10.8.5 and hopefully will last OS X 10.11.1 (current version).

You can update your Mac directly - if you can update the Mac at all.  If you can update depends on the age and model.

    Hello

I used to sync to my iphone via itunes with iTunes library that I have stored on my NAS.

I have a new computer and want to do it again.

I had iTunes able to access my library iTunes stored on the NAS, I can play the music on my computer but when I want to sync my iphone, the obly on which I am authorized to do so by Itunes is the local library, not the one on the NAS.

How can I make the NAS library one to use for syncing my Iphone?

The phone searches for the exact same library file used the last time that synchronize you the phone with iTunes.

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes. When you are prompted to select a library to select the file iTunes Library.itl the SIN. If it is not there then you have not kept the entire library on the NAS and the left critical parts of your library back on the old computer.  The only recourse is to get these files to this computer or a backup.  It is usually best to use a portable library but with a SIN, you can run into all kinds of trouble with any iTunes library. In this case, I suspect I know what the problem is, but there are several NAS posts here where we have no idea why a library all of a sudden I have messed up. iTunes and NAS do not play well together.
