System recovery - replace files in own Place

HP Pavilion p6620f.  WIN 7.  I had a crash.  Had to perform a system recovery and restore factory settings.  As a result, I lost all my programs.  However, I made a backup of DVD when asked.  When I tried to decode the files in backup (.wim) 68 (some on all three of the DVD), he kept failure of satisfaction.  He failed three times in a row to the same 29% * wav file.  I then put all three DVDs in the same folder and still once he kept default, this 69% at the same time *. MDB file.  I then managed all the files (*.wim) with 7 - ZIP.  It seems that everything is present in the file system recovery, but... How can I get sorted in the correct position?  Is it still possible?  Each of the 68 files are now included in a separate folder (0.wim) becomes (C:/SystemRecovery/D-OS/filename) and (1.wim) becomes (C:/SystemRecovery/D-OS/filename) etc 68 times.

Once again: great question is how I put back them in their ORIGINAL position on the C: drive before the crash?  Is it still possible?  If this isn't the case, I need to do a lot of reloading unwanted of my software.  I am grateful that the system is now operational even if not full as it was.  Thanks for any help on this problem of looooong.

Thank you once again the Dragon fur,

I did it "your way" and I'm on duty again.  I also managed the system recovery backup file and found all my files 'data '.  The only thing lost had plenty of time to fix it.  I'm old and retired, so it could have been worse.  Thank you and this forum.  Joe

I'm mainly interested in restoring my data to my Quicken 2010 and possibly my 2015 AutoCad.

    You are welcome.

The only answer I have for not being able to find the files is that they can not have been backed up.  Otherwise, they should be in the folder.  I have to be honest.  I did several laps, but never made a backup of my files.  I always keep my personal data, backups of Quicken, photos, etc. on the external USB hard drives.  If the data are very important to me, I have it on at least two disks.

  • How to restore files from a backup made during a system recovery?

I have a HP Pavilion a6700y Desktop PC running Vista 64-bit. I had to do a system recovery, and I backed up my files, such as recommended.

    Thank you

Acutally, that I found was in a folder named MINWINPC, there was a folder with the date of the backup, and that is a file named Backup.1.exe. When I ran that the files have been restored - very slowly. What you say can be applied to a different version of what I have.

Thanks a lot for the input!

I use Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion P6000 series.  I believe that the Recovery Manager created Windows System Recovery Files folder on the C: drive (from .wim files) created on an external drive, and I want to move them to the original location.  Just copy or move everything to the C: drive, or is it an executable program that does this?

The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but when you did the recovery of the system you have disabled your hard drive of everything, including your files.

You now have a new computer.

You can try this program (it's free) to see if he 'can' find and recover your files. no guarantee:

  • Unrecognized files on the system recovery CD?

My computer started crashing quite frequently with "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" error about three weeks ago.  I tried defraging, clean disk upward and a fast and comprehensive analysis of the Norton computer and I tried to check the threads on some hardware, as the WLAN adapter (since recently stopped working) and it always crashes on me.  It seems to crash a lot when my internet goes suddenly to limited with little performance connectivity yellow sign on the subject, and when I go to disconnect and reconnect or simply use diagnose and fix computer freezes, then crashes.

I hope that doing a system recovery to its original software configuration will help to stop the noise, but when I insert the first disc, as the instructions say to do, rather than get to the screen instructions, it just shows what is on the CD. As he shows me a bunch of folders with files.  I tried to click on some files and I get a message saying that the file type is not recognized...

As you can see, the driver is too old. From what I found, this driver belongs to thesoftware of fingerprint AuthenTec . You use this software? If so, update the software please. If there is no update, delete.

  • .sv2i Converter and Symantec System Recovery vCentre 5.0.0 files

    Hi all

Im hoping some of you might be able to shed some light on this for me,

We have one or more servers with Symantec System Recovery 2011 (ver. 10.0.1.41704) and we tried to convert files .sv2i across on an ESXi 5 server. However we seem to have mixed on conversions. To review the guide isn't too clear on if the Sys Rec 2011 is a product supported. Im hoping this is?

When we try to recover a server we get a "source parameters are invalid" and on a second server with the same version of Sys recovery he completed the conversion, but then the server does not start.

Anyone who has tried using the files of sv2i Symantec System recovery in this way or we're looking at a dead end?

IM happy to provide information on both servers ddditional needs this help the situation.

    Thank you very much

    Matthew

When we try to recover a server, you get a "source parameters are not valid.

As you have already discovered since the Release Notes-unfortunately - is not a supported version.

and on a second server with the same version of recovery Sys, he completed the conversion, but then the server does not start.

If the conversion is successful, you can verify if the virtual machine has been created with the appropriate virtual SCSI controller and run the VMware Converter with the option 'Configure the Machine' for the virtual machine inject the missing drivers.

  • How to restore the system recovery files to their original location? (HP Pavilion p6540F desktop computer)

I have a desktop HP Pavilion P6540F under Windows 7 Home Premium. A few days ago there was a problem with windows that virtually wiped out my OS and I had to restore my computer to factory settings. Before restoring my computer I backed up all my files on a disk. After Reinstalling windows, I placed the drive with all my files recovery on it in my computer and running the recovery .exe file that has started downloading my files. All of this worked perfectly well but the problem is that these files only stored in a file on my desktop and has not been restored to its original location. Is it possible to get these files to restore to the correct locations on my computer without having to manually, drag the files to their old location? Honestly, I don't know where many of these files were located before the restoration and many items such as preferences for certain programs are impossible for me to move. Thanks for the help.

The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.

  • Can system table space cause multiple data files in several places?

    Hi experts,

Our current system has a partition to keep the system tablespace data files, but I assumed that the partition is wrongly estimated and the size was maintained only 2 GB. Now the partition's got full and it seems no way to increase the partition from the OS. The only option I have is to create the new data for system tablespace file in another free partition. Is this possible? I have to consider all things important before doing this? Also can I create new data with the regular create command file or need to do something special for system tablespace?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can create two data files for system tablespace into two partitions.

To reduce the space in the system tablespace - you should check what are segments that occupy the space in the system tablespace.

To get the examples if you have the Audit DB - then you can move the table to tablespace someother depending on availability.
