System, Vista repair loop

After a difficult time with my laptop, now it seems to be stuck in a loop of system repair.  After each restart or even when I try to turn it on, it just goes straight to system repair.  When I try to start with last known good configuration or failure safe mode, it just goes straight to the repair of the system.  I tried chkdsk /f /r and same sfc scannow to command prompt.

I can't start in Safe
I can't start to last good configuration
No matter what I choose, it always starts to repair the system.
When I try to do a system restore, I get a message saying that I currently have none.  I should have at least 2, and a partition on the hard drive (d :) is where they should be located.

If the test has confirned that your hard drive has failed, is no more that I can add to that.

Reinstall will not correct a faulty hard drive.

Saving your files, if possible. :

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF all your hardware is all work) > and try to copy your data from the hard drive like that.

http://Knoppix.NET/

If no method does work, you will need to contact the data recovery specialists; Beware, they are very expensive.

My son has this problem after having just disable his laptop ASUS Vista after that that it froze. At the time, he was installing a new software (Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2009) and an error of the pilot came to a Belkin USB peripheral series that he had added previously.

Repair system just keeps looping - it gives the choice between repair or start Windows normally, but once it times out he just reloops without anything to do. I tried F8 to try other options, but none of these works (for example: start in safe mode, return to the last known good configuration, etc.).

As Vista was loaded with the ASUS OEM, the Vista recovery disc does not offer anything but wipe the disc on which Vista is loaded, which means of course the entire disc is how they put in place.

  • Equium A200-Vista repair always at boot

    Dear all,

This is my first time in the forums and I need help.
I have a computer Equium A200 laptop running Windows Vista 32. Recently, I got a malware problem and my only recourse was to erase everything and use the Toshiba Recovery disk that was provided.

I reinstalled and the computer restarted without any problem... However if I stop completely for a short time, when the machine starts again the Windows Startup Repair keeps operating. I have let it run its course, but it never actually repairs anything. I even wiped all new just ran the recovery disc that put on the basis of windows vista, closed the machine for about a minute and then he did it again, windows startup repair yes returned.

My bios is the latest version and I ran a test on the memory and hard drive... all diagnoses appear correct.

My laptop is still under warranty.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you

    Hi dude

Your question is really strange to be honest I have never seen anything like it.
Of course, the repair function on Vista is known to me and my repaired the system Vista in the past too, but this doesn t always appear at the start of the laptop.

However, I imagine that this issue has something to do with your system and you should first try to clean with the CCleaner. It is a free tool and it repairs the operating system and the registry.

More upgrade Vista to the last State. Install SP1 and all other updates.
    Maybe it helps!

  • My computer guard direct me to the Windows Startup Repair loop. Is this a virus? If this is not the case, what should I do?

    OK, here's a little history:
When was surfing the Internet (using Mozilla Firefox), he froze and said that he "did not." Then I left the computer alone for a good 15 minutes, but to realize that nothing happened. From there, I decided to disconnect the computer to see if I can re - open Firefox. But when I tried to connect it back, the computer take me on the desk. It was stuck at the screen that says 'Welcome' (the form that appears after clicking on your user name) in the end, I turned off the computer by holding the power button, because there was nothing I could do. When I turned on the computer a few minutes later, it was time that I met a huge problem.

    The problem:
When I turned it back on, a black screen appears that gives you the ability to boot your system with a repair on your computer, or start normally. I chose "start normally. After that, it took me a blue screen with a window that says "Startup Repair". He began to scan the computer saying «attempted repairs...» "When I saw this, I turned immediately shut down the computer, thinking it was some sort of virus that pretends to fix the computer. Nevertheless, I decided to turn it on for the second time. Of course, it's the same thing. But this time, I allow the scanning process to complete. When it was over, he said that the system could not be repaired and advised me to contact Microsoft, with my "contact information." I took this as a red flag, and click Cancel. I suspected it was an attempt to identity theft. (Though, I could be wrong, of course.)

Honestly, I don't know if if there is indeed something wrong with the computer or if it's a virus.

I tried to find out by going online and looking for solutions. From there, I tried a method where you press F8 several times until the Advanced Boot Options go up and selected "Last known Configuration" that did not work. I also heard on the "chkdsk" method, but I don't know how to do and there is no guarantee this will work.

After that, I did more research and realized there were several ways to solve this problem. But when I went through the tutorials, the steps have been very confusing to me. I felt like most of these tutorials aimed computer technicians or people who knew in fixing computers. The steps were so confused until I found myself referring more questions than real answers!

So now I'm reaching out to help, and I really need! It would be greatly appreciated! I really don't want to format all my data.

Please keep in mind that I am a lover of computers operating. The two programs I normally use are Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Word. So please don't be assuming that I know my way in and out of a computer. I'm no where near, in every sense of the term, an 'Expert '. If you can, I would like a simple, easy to follow, simple tutorial, step by step, which is not turned to professional users. Still, I am not very competent in operating computers.

    Hello

    You have tried yet.

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.
