T400 Ultrabay keypad

Hello, I was just wondering if there was a digital keyboard that can be inserted into the port of utrabay to the t400?

I find the keypad instead of the very difficult to use letters, and I imagine using a keypad plugged via USB would be pretty boring if I was in public transport.

I look forward to your reply!

Hello.

There was a Ultrabay Plus device carrier that you could insert a device for numpad on ThinkPad models very early, including T23, T30, and some of the A - and R-models as well, but that was a long time ago.

Your only option, if I'm not wrong, for an additional keypad would be a USB or BlueTooth model.

See you soon.

  • T400 adding 2nd HD for audio files, any PERSON using Ultrabay Adapter II successfully?

    I use my T400 to record the audio in my project studio. I would add a second HD for audio files and the content of the programmes.

    After some searching of web and because of my current installation, would like to know what additional HD system would work well. I'm happy with my system, but see some stuttering and dropping out of school. I run a MOTU light Ultra in the 4 pin F / w.

    1. I can use the Ultrabay, with SATA adapt II to drop in Seagate Momentus 7200, SATA300, 320GB, which hopefully will be compatible. I saw a post that this works like SATA300.   2 I could use a glyph Portagig 7200 RPM 320 GB, 800 F/W or USB as an external hard drive. I need Garland who at the MOTU F/W400 to connect, I'd be from ports. I don't know if USB would be as good on transfers.  NOTE: My Card/Bus Express slot is in use for other attachments.

    Is someone using a second HD with any one of these methods successfully?  I would go on the road II Ultrabay adapter, to be able to use my other attachments when editing.  CD/w could come back when I need to burn a finished product.

    No matter who sees all conflicts, I, as a beginner, do not see?

    Thank you

    Thanks to all who responded.  I was out of town, without my password.

    Yes, I the Oly LS-10, a very good hand unit.  I also received the Cubase LE 4, but for me, its got a steep learning curve.

    Much more easy DAW is all on a single page of Mackie Tracktion 2 or 3. Very easy to learn and your final product will be just as

  • T400 keypad

    Hello

    I bought a Lenovo T400 ThinkPad flea market and am very happy with it. However, it has no manual. I'm running it with Windows 7.

    I wish I could create these little strange characters like quarter, half, trema, cedilla, etc.. I have the row of numbers at the top under the F keys; I also have numbers with certain letters. For example, j and 1; k and 2; m and 0; and so on.

    When I hit the key Num Lock what can I do then please?

    ozziejoan1

    Nice day.

    First, press Fn + scroll stop to activate NumLock.
    Press in and hold the Alt key while typing the sequence on the M, J, K, L, U, I, O, 7, 8 & 9 4-digit keys (embedded numeric keypad) for the special symbol, you are looking and and release Alt.

    Does that help?

    Kind regards.

    I think you need the Ultrabay slim, 9.5 mm, with SATA interface type. Something like that. You can search for courses more for a better price, but that's essentially what you're looking for.

  • Advanced Docking Station vs T400

    We ordered only 5 Advanced Docking stations for use with our T400s. We were assured that they would work. So they arrive today and imagine my surprise to see that the Ultrabay housing on the side is not compatible with all things ultrabay, we already bought for the T400s.

    An advanced docking station are to the T400 which you know the same connections as the laptop Ultrbay?

    Will be the docks of the art work with the T400, but the Ultrabay Enhanced on the dock slots have old EIDE interface and not the interface Serial ATA of new Txxx, Rxxx, ultrabay Exxx series thin mobile computer, Ultrabay Enhanced and Ultrabay Slim thickness are also different.

    So I guess you forgot to ask also if the docking station advanced is also compatible with the SATA interfaced Ultrabay Slim drive of the T400...

    You will have to wait for the new advanced dock is not yet released as the best to my knowledge.

  • T500 Ultrabay Slim battery

    Hey again everything.

    I wonder if the Ultrabay Slim Battery II housing (which fits in the T61) will enter the new Thinkpad T series. Also, is it useful? How life extra battery I could expect on the standard battery?

    Thank you.

    It will not work. The T61 uses a connector to different optical drive as one of the newest models T400/T500. The T500 uses a SATA connection to the motherboard, which is not the T61/T60. I hope that Lenovo will launch an Ultrabay Battery for the T400/T500 series.

  • The T410s Ultrabay II compatibility

    Hello

    I just received a new T410s and I was wondering if the Ultrabay II I have with a 2nd HDD of my T400 will be compatible? She certainly fits inside the Bay T410s OK and I managed to get to power and become visible to windows once, but I'm f wondering my problem is to do with the seemingly new power on the Ultrabay management (the DVD player has been turned off by default until you press the eject button) or if the Ultrabay II housing is not completely compatible somehow and I'll to have to replace it with a Ultrabay III?

    Kind regards

    Dan.

    UltraBay II is compatible with the T400, but it is not listed as compatible with the ThinkPad later.

  • Adapter Ultrabay - HARD drive does not appear

    I just bought a new adapter for my T400 Thinkpad ultrabay. I put a brand new Toshiba 320 HDD and place in the laptop. The HARD drive is another laptop but is still new, I bought my companion who has installed a newly purchased SSD in his cell.

    in any case, when I placed the ultrabay adapter in the notebook with the new HARD drive, I received a message that Windows 7 was install drivers for the new Toshiba drive, the standard procedure. But I don't see anything in my computer.

    HARD drive appears in Device Manager but not in my computer. See the screenshot.

    I tried to follow these instructions with no luck. I also tried to update the BIOS with no luck.

    The light on the adapter does not-maybe it is somehow off?

    Help, please...

    Too bad. I solved the problem. I used Partition Wizard Home Edition to see the drive and create a new NTFS partition on the HARD drive and a drive letter assigned.

    Thought I'd post the solution here if someone would know a similar problem.

  • R61 HARD Ultrabay drive adapter

    ThinkPad R61 - 8934F9U

    (a) I travel a lot and want to install a 2nd HARD drive in the Ultrabay slot. In my view, that R61 has Ultrabay Enhanced, which is 12.5 mm in height. Should which adapter I buy?

    This will void the warranty?

    Lenovo Web site has 3 Ultrabay adapters listed.

    1.

    ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay fit -40Y8725. 9.7 mm height - listed for ThinkPad R60 and T60, X 60, Z60 Series

    2 adapter ThinkPad HARD drive 2nd for Ultrabay Slim - 41U3148 - no available dimensions, apparently for the old series T40 and R50 series

    3 ranked ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive Bay Adapter II - 43R1980 - 10.5 mm in height - T400/T500, R400/R500 and W500

    umroayyar, welcome to the forum,

    There is no adapter Ultrabay Enhanced drive, you must use the number 2 of the adapters that you linked.

    And, no, he will not fall on your laptop on the side. He will stay in. There will be 3mm of 'fresh air' above him, as intensified Bay is 12, 5mm in height and the adapter slim 9, 5 mm.

  • T400 H maximum

    Hello! I; ve been trying to find and cant seem to find any. I'm running out of disk space... (mostly because I had my first join born of the family recently and photos and videos take up a lot of my data.) It seems that the maximum which will see the laptop is 320 GB. I have that on this basis:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-72189

    However, it says the opposite:

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T400-maximum-hard-drive-size-supported-by-B...

    Can someone confirm it again who's who?

    I ordered just a second Bay HD (P/N 43N3412). It will also be just a max of 320 GB?

    I prefer if possible at least 500 GB or 1 TB. Maybe with a BIOS update?

    Thank you!

    Drive 9.5 mm biggest I know is 750 GB. You can also consider an Ultrabay adapter, which would double your potential capacity.

  • T400 - question sleep

    Dear all,

    We bought 50 new T400 with HSPA embedded, SSD, battery UltraBay... and unfortunately, I detected a problem while waking up from sleep mode.

    OS is WinXP SP3

    PwrMgrDrv = 1.52

    PwrMgr = 1.54

    ActiveProtection = 2.90

    Hotkey = 2.11

    KeyCustomzier = 1.3.53

    AccConn = 5.3

    PresDir = 4.03

    UltraNav = 2.04

    When the lid is closed, the laptop becomes (as it should) in standby mode. After having opened the lid, the laptop is locked (windows) and I can no longer enter name of user and password. Some of the major work (enter, Tab), but others are not, BACKSPACE shows rectangels on entering the user name field. Only solution is to Power button...

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

    I found the problem

    This is not a hardware issue or software issue of products, Lenovo, his company of backup (Setup Protection) where the material "keylogger detection" setting is set to "ban", if I disable this control work... I am waiting for a response from Utimaco...

  • T400 customized with warranty in the USA and Europe

    Hi all!

    In Spain, I'm going to be in the United States for a while and then travelling from Europe to the USA a few months. I would buy a T400 with display LED WXGA +, webcam, ATI 3470 and PCMCIA slot. In Spain he has unique laptop with that spec, those who display have the ATI or pccard housing with the ATI and the PCMCIA slots is not the WXGA + and the camera, and you can not choose any kind of portable custom... However, all the Spanish ones I could find were also guaranteed in the United States.

    So I came with the USA Lenovo's online store, you will choose your laptop as you wish (Finally, right now, they have not the WXGA + LED display with the camera), but looks like they offer only the machine "2764" for the T400, without warranty in Europe. However in the Lenovo UK online store also would change the 2764 WITHOUT WARRANTY IN UK?

    So my questions are:

    1. does anyone know if the 2764 has service warranty in Europe (al least UK) or not?

    2 - If you buy the laptop online in the USA shop, always send you the 2764?

    is 3 - possible to order another type of machine, setting up custom and guaranteed valid in Europe?

    4 - anyone know what LED WXGA + and the camera will be available again (it's in the shop online UK now)?

    Someone suggested that the 2764 is not guaranteed in Europe to avoid buying from Europe, but which has no sense for me because there are other models in the webshop with warranty in Europe (such as the R400).

    Regarding the specifications of systems, I want to buy, in case someone knows if there is a portable "pre-configured" with her (although not appearing only not to the expedition of Tabuk, I already checked) and European security:

    Intel Core 2 Duo processor P9500 (2,53 GHz 1066 MHz 6MBL2) 25W
    14.1 WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT, w / backlight LED and camera
    ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 with 256 MB
    2 GB PC3 - 8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067 MHz SODIMM Memory (1 DIMM)
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with fingerprint reader
    160 GB hard disk drive, 5400 RPM
    Without hard disk Turbo Memory cache
    DVD recordable 8 x Max dual layer, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)
    Express Card Slot & slot for PC card (without memory card reader)
    Integrated Bluetooth PAN
    Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 (AGN) with my WiFi technology
    Integrated AT & T (3G) Mobile Broadband card
    Battery Li - ion 4 cells
