T440s with EM7345

I have a T440s running windows 7 with a module mobile 4g of em7345 installed, installing drivers correctly and it recongnises the SIM, but is unable to find the network (on troubleshooting, windows connection suggests that there is no signal, but my phone uses the network even though I know this isn't the case).

So far, my best guess is that it is either something to do with the apn settings (I am based in the United Kingdom and use the mobile network giffgaff don't require apn settings to define) or there is a problem with the antena. No connection appears in the interface user of VAN. Anyone with any ideas on how I could go on the test either of these things?

  • A way to send and receive the SMS messages on ThinkPad T440 with Sierra EM7345

I have a T440 with Sierra LTE. It works fine to connect to mobile networks.

But here in New Zealand, one of our suppliers also provides free wifi hotspots to customers on certain plans. To use this property, I have to enter a password which is sent to me by SMS.

Is it possible that I can display SMS messages sent to the SIM card inside my laptop?

Now, I need to remove the SIM card from my ThinkPad (with all the hassles that implies), paste it into my phone, get the password, then transfer the SIM card in my ThinkPad (and often do not, it is y no food taken located nearby, so I can't restart because I had to disable the internal battery during the installation/uninstallation of the SIM card).

So, if someone can point to a way I can just see these SMS messages on my ThinkPad, I'm grateful enernally.

  • Brand new T440s with BIOS password

    Hello

    I have a big problem.

I bought online a new T440s I opened the box for the first time myself. When I go into the BIOS it asks for password and I just hit enter without entering a password. I can get into BIOS but I can't change any settings.

What can I do? A brand new thinkpad can come with a BIOS password on the box?

I get conflicting information regarding the type of password. First image said his power over who can be removed but bios says his supervisor.

In fact, it can happen. Sometimes large customers require laptops preconfigured which may include customized supervisor passwords. Of course, you should have not received one of these units. Ask the seller for a replacement unit, there is no easy way to remove an unknown supervisor password without replacing the motherboard for the laptop.

  • Dead pixel on T440s with HD + IPS display

    Hello Lenovo Community

Recently, I got my first computer laptop lenovo, the T440s. The overall quality of the casting is excellent and the performance is optimal. However, I realized that there is a dead on the screen pixel. I'm stilI in twenty-one-day return limit. wonder if I'm able to do an exchange for one without defect and not subject to a restocking fee?

    Thank you

    Laughing out loud

LCD screens are not considered CRUs (CRUS by) and can only be exchanged by a technician or service center on site if your computer has a warranty on the spot.

FWIW, I sent hundreds of ThinkPads to the filing of these past ten years and have never had a single one damaged.

    YMMV.

    Good luck.

  • Do not charge the external battery ThinkPad T440

    Hello community,

I use a T440 with WIN8.1 machine pro, but for some reason any external battery stopped charging. This laptop is only 3 months old Lenove send me a brand new, but the result was the same, the charging symbol appears on my screen when restarting the machine and shrotly after completely stops. Now, I had my internal battery pack has changed and once again, no improvement. If any of you had a similar experience and can suggest a remedy?

just had an IBM engineer on the site and that they have was change the motherboard of the laptop. Frankly, nobody seems to know how or why the machine won't start. Since the new motherboard was installed everything seems to be in order and work very well.

  • T440s: Cannot set disk password in Bios

I got a new T440s with a 256 gb SSD by Samsung. I would like to put a HDD password in the bios. But the menu item "Password hard drive x" does not appear on the page of the security-> password bios. All the other 'Material-password manager' menu items for "Power On Password" will appear.

Does anyone have the same problem? Is there another way to set the hard drive password?

  • Replacement keyboard T440s

I am trying to replace the American keyboard of my T440s with a French keyboard.

I followed the instructions in the manual (t440s_hmm_en_sp40a25360_03.pdf).

However, I can't completely remove the keyboard.

I am stuck at step 8 (top of page 72).

The drawing suggests to remove a small piece of white.

But I was not able to do. It does not move when I try to push it using the tool or a small screwdriver.

I don't want to break anything, so I'm asking here.

What is your advice to go forward in the final stages (8, 9, 10, 11) of removal?

    Thanks in advance,

  • ThinkPad T440s plus Nvidia is no connection?

    Hello

Finally, I see T440s with discrete graphics, but why no connection?

    http://shop.Lenovo.com/se/SV/laptops/ThinkPad/t-series/t440s/

"Traditional docks are not available for T440s w/Nvidia graphics - but there are alternatives to host USB."

they route the additional heatpipe for discrete GPU through the area to the dock connector, and it's just easier to remove for dock connector to redraw the new discreet network of pipes, radiator for the T440s with GPU.

The discrete GPU on the T440s is not very powerful, and given the new Intel GPU integrated can support 3 LCD simultaneously.

  • T440s and X 1 carbon poster

I have heard some criticism of the T440s and X 1 touch screens of carbon having the door 'effect on the screen." What does that mean? They talk about the extra protective cover that goes over the main screen? People are not happy with this style, or most of the people don't really like one way or another? Why Lenovo chose this design? There are advantages and disadvantages to it?

gateway to the screen, it's like watching something through a mosquito net. The spacing between the elements of color are mainly visible to the naked eye.

The T440s with screen LCD FHD don't seem to have this problem. While the X 1 touch screen of carbon is not that bad when you color calibrate. However, the angle of poor vision of the X 1 carbon screen is not something that I really like.

There is also a new ThinkPad X 1 replacement carbon coming out soon, which will have the option of screen QHD +. Maybe you should have a wait and see which option is available.

  • T440s cannot boot from SSD m2?

Hello guys, I have configured my t440s with a 1 t HARD drive.

I just installed the 128g m2 SSD and intend to install the system on the SSD and use storage HARD drive.

However, I've hit trouble during the installation of the system.

I did a restore system USB and booted from that drive. There is no way to select which drive to install. So I called Lenovo. Technical support, said that the recovery image will automatically install on the main 2.5 inch HDD.

Fine, I disconnected the HARD drive and hoping the recovery USB will be smart enough to install the system on my SSD m2.
It worked, sort of. When I reboot the system of my main 2.5 inches 1 to HDD, I can see that the installation is complete. Program Files... BLABLABLA all of them are in the SSD m2.

However, the laptop can NOT boot from SSD. I can see the ssd in the startup list, but it does not start.

I put the boot to legacy mode.
    I did something wrong?
    Thank you guys!

This will work, but not from the recovery. You need to install a Linux distribution and do a clean install of Win7/8. If you opt for a clean installation, do not forget everything first to download the drivers for network (ethernet/wlan/wwan) from the lenovo website.

    alfreddot12

NB: I have a T440p with a m2-128 GB-mydigitalssd as the boot device, and the SSD installed sata factory as the storage data. The SSD of m2 is recognized as the second disc. In this respect. There a big difference between the T440s and the T440p in this regard.

  • Is this acceptable?

    imgur.com/a/3cx66

The photos in this album shows slight oozing on my new Lenovo who sent in lieu of another device with a screen like this and a faulty trackpad.

What do you think? Is this ok?

It is a t440s with slab IPS FHD. This is an improvement on the last screen, but that's not much say.

If it were mine, I would consider the defective screen

  • Problem with a keyboard key of T440 after the upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello world

I have a Brazilian keyboard layout (ABNT2) on my T440 and I am facing a problem after the upgrade to Windows 10. The new version of Windows recognizes this key:

As long as the "CTRL on the right" (commom on other layouts).

Everyone was faced with a similar problem or have any clues as to what might solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Felipe

    Solved.

Do more research, I fount out is an old bug with Lenovo's Thinkpad laptops with this Brazilian keyboard.

If you are facing the same problem, use this registry tweak and the problem is solved:

    http://ZTop.com.br/WP-content/uploads/2009/11/thinkpad_abnt_win7.zip

(the file name indicates "win7" but it also works for Windows 10)

  • T440s shipping with windows 8.1 yet?

Just said my T440s ordered in November is available... they're still going with Windows 8.0 or Lenovo has caught up?

    Thank you

    Hi Mike,.

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Your system should probably be arriving with Windows 8 only. But the upgrade to 8.1 Windows is fairly easy. Check out the link below to understand how to perform an update.

Only the newer models such as ThinkPad Yoga is shipped with Windows 8.1.

    I hope this helps!
