Table of contents in Microsoft Help file missing expand buttons

First of all happy new year to all

I'm having a problem with a microsoft generated help file that causes the buttons develop on the TOC to disappear.  The help file works as expected outside this irritation.  Here is a screenshot of the doubtful TOC:

This is controlled by an option in your single source available properties. Click Change next to the field "Advanced settings". From there, click the TOC Styles tab and select the option "Plus/Minus square. If this is not available, select the option "root lines.

    1. Create a Table of contents listing all sheets in a file?
    2. Have these hyperlink worksheet titles to the sheets themselves?

    I build what will eventually be a fairly large file (read: 75 + leaves). Rather than scrolling all the leaves one by one by one manually to locate the correct table, it would be useful to have a table of contents or an Index that lists the in order... Ideally, allowing the connection of hypertext link to the leaves they reference. (I swear that this was part of a way-back-when number...)

    Instead, is it possible to auto-trier worksheets in alphabetical order? He would not give me the project view as a table of contents or an Index of 35,000 feet, but at least it would be a little easier to find what it takes.

    The numbers 2 (' 09) and 3 support not the hyperlinks to locations within the current document. Both take in charge of hyperlinks that open a Web page in your default browser or which will open and send a new e-mail message.

    Command-F can be your friend here.

    Place an array of single cell on each sheet (or use a cell on the existing table). Enter a short text string that identifies the table or sheet. Each string must be unique in the document.

    To access the card containing one of the following strings:

    Press Control + F to open the Find dialog.

    Enough chain to identify the worksheet type.

    Number will draw this roadmap forward as soon as it can determine which table contains the cell containing this string.

    Tested with four sheets containing:

    able, baker, charlie and delta

    With this limit together (and any other tables in the document - quite an artificial situation!), type c or d was enough to bring me to sheet 3 or 4, sheets 1 and 2 required two letters (ab or ba) to identify the good sheet and bring it forward.

    With a document containing several tables (and more leaves), create (and remembering) a separate channel for each becomes more complicated.

    You can place a second copy of each in a table of Index or table of contents on a separate sheet. From the index table,

    Copy the entry for the table/worksheet you want to go.

    Open the dialog to find (command-V)

    Paste the entry in the search box. (What it will find and highlight the entry that you have copied to the index table)

    Click on the > button on the dialog to find the occurrence FOLLOWING this string (on your target table.

  • Impossible to uninstall after help file missing error.

    I tried to uninstall the program after an error that the help file is missing, so I could reinstall.  It will not uninstall and I can't re-install using the original CD.

    I got it fixed finally making your manual uninstall.  Had to remove several components in the registry before it would finally be reinstall.  Thanks for getting back to me.

  • OfficeJet 6500 Solution center will not install/help files missing

    Hey community:

    Have tried several times to install Officejet 6500 with the solutioncenter does not.  When I click on the icon to get an error message that the solution center was not installing correctly.  I saw a flash quick a message about the flash player, but on uninstall / installs later may not get the same message.

    All proposals/solutions.  Am disappointed right now with the Hp Printer.  Online tech solution was to place shortcuts to scan ap and says the printer works perfectly like her without the Center as well as the fax, but cannot fax from word doc.

    In addition, I don't have the help files to set up the printer.  Any help on that would be great.

    There could be two questions

    1. your computer does not have a more recent version. Please download and install. Now reinstall the hp software

    2. if above does not work. disable the firewall (including the windows firewall) and check the solution Center.

  • Table of contents of the opening using a custom button

    Can I have my custom button, (i.e. made using png bitmaps in photoshop) be open the table of contents.

    I had OCD but I want it to be opened by my button rather than the default value provided by captivate.

  • Added a link to an external file in the table of contents

    I would like to be able to have a link in the table of contents in an external file (such as a pdf or doc Excel file) that can reside on the same server as the online help project, without having to add the external file to the project in a baggage file. Basically, I put in the address of the file, just as you would for a URL, but RoboHelp does not allow me to do. I can add a link of this type on a topic page, but I don't see how to do this in the table of contents. The idea is that this file could be maintained outside the project to online help, and the online help will always be a link to the most recent version (without having to update anything in the online help). Someone at - it ideas?

    Nevermind, I figured it. I just need to add the following at the beginning of the URL address...

    file://

    I also need to remember that there may be no space anywhere in the folder names and file name when the link in the table of contents.

  • See the table of contents in context sensitive help

    The application of Iam working on a a context sensitive webhelp. When I click on the button of the page in the context help appears that has a hyperlink to 'Show' at the top of the help page. When I click on 'Show' table of contents help is displayed. Is there a method by which I can the toic for help as well as the table of contents page?

    You must select the autosyn option in the wizard. I thought that was covered in the article, but see excerpt 1 otherwise.

  • How can I customize the Table of contents develop (> >) button?

    I have a client who wants to change the color of the table of contents, expand (> >) button which is a light gray by default. I tried to change all the options in the editor of skin under the Table of contents, playback control and borders, and nothing worked. Am I missing something obvious, or is there no way to customize this button?

    You will not be able to change the color of the expand button, but you can add your own custom images.

    (1) launch the Adobe Captivate 5.5 project

    2) click on the project-> Table of contents

    3) click on the set button

    (4) under TOC settings, you have the icon sections expand and collapse icon

    5) click on 'file' button and find your photo

    I have word documents (.) RTF) who has OCD (with the help of field codes).
    I want to implemented in Documaker after importation in the FAP.

    12.0 release notes claims "* now when you import RTF, DOC or DOCX to Word files, the Studio converts everything."
    * level of orders in these files in bookmarks of Studio. You can then use these *.
    "* bookmarks to create a table of contents for the FAP file."

    While the V12 is the table of contents, it imports it as text, which is not what I want.

    Table of contents feature has existed for some time and works very well for dyanamic documents. Mark you each article/FAP with a table of contents object, mark the level, and then create an object Table of contents or Index at the beginning or at the end of the form if necessary. The update of the system will be autimatically page numbers running, depending on what is included (each section/FAP). If you do not need the dynamic assembly, then you can simply import the RTF/DOC/DCOX as is.

    What a day for having a panic... hope there are a few other fine individuals out there work and looking for a way to earn their Badge to act good Christmas...

    OK, so I think it's really simple. I am currently a table of contents for a customer who wants only parts of the information contained in our webhelp, but I'd like any first of the generic TOC. I was stupid (very, very possible) or is there no easy way to make a table of contents based on one that already exists? I can drag and drop the files in project in the project manager, but they are not organised brilliantly and it would take much more time to make sure they were all in the right place...

    Does anyone know a quick fix to this?

    If you use RoboHelp HTML 7 or 8, you can easily copy a table of contents in the table of contents Editor.

    First, open the pod of table of contents Editor. Then click on the button create a table of contents in the toolbar of the OCD pod.

    From there, click on new and place a check mark in the check box to copy the Table of contents by existing.

    Type a name for the new table of contents and choose the table of contents to copy and you should be good to go.

  • Signs plus/minus added to records in the table of contents

    I succumbed to learn how to add the signs plus/minus next to folders in the table of contents to open the files. Does anyone know how to do this? Can it be done?

    I recently inherited a help file. Our COMPUTER service complete updates of the application and generates content for the help file, I include in the file, generate the JAR file and transfer to programmers to integrate into the final product.

    I have OCD instructions to 'Automatic Creation' whenever I finish my updates. It all works well, except that the client has the hope that the table of contents will be in a specific order. The routine of automatic creation of guard placing books and pages in alphabetical order. I have to use them whenever I generate.

    Does anyone know how to force the books and pages in one order other than alphabetical?

    I appreciate your help! This task is a bit tedious.

    I'm not used to InDesign and someone gave me a document that I'm supposed to update.

    However, I have a slight problem with a table of contents which is not really a table of contents (or maybe I'm missing something).

    On each page, it does that:InDesign.jpg

    And the changes of points according to the I'm on the page (for example, if I'm in the 'contacts' page, the red dot will be 'contacts')

    This table changes (sometimes, I don't really know why) so he is connected to something inside the document.

    My problem is: How can I change? Because if I go to the "layout-> Table of contents" the only thing I can do is create a new.

    Master pages have content that is repeated on several pages of the document. Open the Pages panel (window > Pages...) and you will see that it is divided by a horizontal line. Master pages are at the top, the pages of a document in the background.

    Hi Michael,

    When you combine files into a single PDF, every file that you include will be a bookmark in the Bookmarks panel in Acrobat/Reader. So, I guess you could treat it as a Table of contents. (It is not, however, create a table of contents separate and add it to the file.) The bookmark names will reflect the name of each file you file handset.

  • How can I alt tag button table of contents that appears at the top of the menu?

    Running the latest version of the Cp7 on a windows machine 7.

    A 508 hang up once more: the customer insists on an active table of contents for the project file. We have activated the TOC and it works fine, but there is a collapsible TOC secondary button located at the top of the slide here:

    Although I can change the icon for the TOC expand/collapse in the setting of the table of contents menu:

    I can't put a the button alt tag, which means that JAWS and other screen just readers it reads as a button without a name - which would be 'bad' If you try to pass a test of 508 compliance - who I am. I know that alt tags do not travel with the image file, and I can't find any way to access the file in Captivate to give him a name of accessibility. Someone at - it a solution?

    You can replace the current picture with one of your choice.  But even if you replace just one pixel GIF, I think that it will always record somewhere in the screen as a button reader.

    However, to be fair to Captivate, you can use the table of contents button on the playback bar to activate the table of contents if need be, or you can configure the buttons on the screen to do so.

    Personally, I wouldn't be way to recovery TOC at all.  I would try for a table of contents separate so that it did not have all the time.

    However, I had read somewhere on this forum (a year or two back) about someone of another conclusion that the links in the table of contents itself were not fully 508 compliant.  Then perhaps you're just chasing your tail here if you try to achieve perfect 508 compliance.
