Tecra 510cdt memory

Sorry, he is transferred to another category by mistake. I'm new here!

I am interested in buying an upgrade memory 128 MB for my computer Toshiba Tecra 510cdt laptop. The label on the bottom says it is a model 1232 EBYX-ENDI. Serial number: 02715996E. NCP 6026. Manufactured by Toshiba Europe GMBH. F.R. Germany.

Can you suggest where I can buy a compatible module for this machine?
Thank you

Hi Joseph,.

As far as I know that your Tecra is supplied with a module of non-removable 16 MB of RAM and a spare expansion slot in which you can install up to 128 MB expansion RAM. The NW2042U is the correct plug-in for your laptop.
This will give you a total 144 MB RAM.

What RAM module did you remove? You must leave the original 16 MB in place and simply install the new 128 MB module in the expansion slot.

Be sure to take the steps of antistatic neceaasry before handling the RAM module.

Kind regards

I hope someone can help as you want to give to my daughter to use for school work.

    Hi Vince

I assume that you have a problem with BIOS password. Am I wrong?

If yes then you have the problem. It is not easy to remove it yourself. It must be done only by the service partner. Really, I can't imagine they will cost a lot of money. Make a call and ask them. I believe that in 15 minutes, it can be done.

  • Tecra 510CDT - PCMCIA or Cardbus?

Can someone tell me if the Tecra 510CDT (i.e. 32 bit) Cardbus or PCMCIA of own (16-bit) locations? I want to get a USB adapter, but they all said Cardbus / 32-bit only. • Tecra 8100: memory slot problems

    I have a model tecra 8100 not: PT810L 12 c 42.

I had problem with slot B mem, so collapsed to use it. Then I upgraded my RAM and inserted a 128 Mb TOSHIBA THLY6416G1FG-80 RAM PC100-222-620 slot A and used for a month. Then he suddenly went dead one day and did not boot at all.

I took it to the point of service, they found somehow it work by sticking a piece of paper btw Aries and the cover. I used another week with ram cover duck taped it. Same story, then dead in the middle of winXP, switched off and no boot again. It took to the same service point, they tried some other RAM chipsets that it refused to start.

The interesting thing is; When they inserted a faulty RAM in slot A and non-use slot B we get the message "memory incompatible chipset" on the screen. With the RAM mentioned above in the slot B (problem as always) and the A we get nothing, just a blank screen, DVD slot starts green lit, but nothing.

WHAT SHOULD I DO, PLS HELP

What is the RAM causing problems? What must a chipset that is exactly compatible with the model no pls?
Is it the two locations of memory A or B, their change could solve the problem?

This is the machine he itself, must it be thrown away?

    ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

    Hello

I n know where you tried to upgrade the memory but as Lisa suggested this was not a serious technician. I changed and upgraded memory on multiple PCs, and you must use 100% compatible modules! You shouldn't t install the modules with a brute force or use strange things as a communication between the housing and the memory module.
Possible slots are damage due to use this procedure. But I hope you're a lucky man and everything will work correctly.

If you n t know which modules are right and taken in charge so you should contact the service partner authorized Toshiba for the right and the upgrade modules.

    Good luck

  • Tecra 8100 memory module questions

Does anyone know if the ram PC133 144 pin for the Tecra 8200 can be used in the Tecra 8100? I think that the Tecra 8100 usually takes PC100 144 pin but I'm having a hard time getting suppliers to tell me about the PC133 so (probably because it is half the price).

    Hello

The Tecra 8100 uses these memory modules:
    PC100 256 MB (PA3051U-1NME)
    PC100 128 MB (PA3005U)
    PC100 64 MB (PA3004U)

  • Help: TECRA 8000 Memory slot B mailfunction

    Hello
    I have a Tecra 8000 for 5 years.

Now slot memory B seems to be no longer works:
If it is filled, the computer does not start (are turned on, but no activity, even no toshiba logo screen)
If it is empty, the computer starts OK with 128 MB in the slot A

    Issues related to the:
    1. is it possible to repair this and what should I check first?
    2. According to the specification, maximum memory for tecra 8000 is 256 MB. Is it possible to insert all the stack memory of 256 MB in the slot and leave the slot empty B?

    Thank you
    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

In my opinion the slot B is defective. You're right about the capacity of RAM. Maximum memory is 256 MB of RAM. It is tested with 256 MB of RAM but apparent with both parts of memory because I have found no extension of memory 256 MB for Tecra 8000.

It is possible that it works properly, but you must try it on your own risk. To play that's for sure, you need to connect a Toshiba Service partner!

    Good luck

  • Tecra A3 - memory DDR, supports 400 Mhz?

Hi, first, sorry for my English.

My question is about Tecra A3; I want to improve memory, and I want to know if this model is compatible with a 1 GB memory DDR 3200 (400 mhz), because that in the manual indicates that supports up to 1 GB DDR memory, but it doesn't specify the type; and in the laptop memory is 512 MB 2700 (333 mhz).

My idea is to buy two 1 GB DDR memory and if it possible of 400 MHz s. That's what I want to know.

    Thank you!

You are right about maximum RAM. You can improve up to 2 GB. According to specification of Toshiba, you can use 2 x PC2700 1024 MB (PA3313U-2M1G). You can also use the Kingston RAM with KTT3311A part number / 1 G. Two of them are modules of 333 MHz.

Usually when you check page Kingston all compatible Rams are listed, including RAM with higher MHz but for Tecra A3 there are 333 MHz only Rams.

Theoretically 400 MHz should work, but I can't say for sure.
You have two compatible part numbers and maybe you should buy these compatible Rams.
If the motherboard has 333 MHz Front side bus use more fast RAM is useless anyway. Faster RAM must resign and run on the speed of the FSB.

  • Re: upgrade Tecra A6 memory

I have a Tecra A6 with 1 GB memory installed at the factory again. I want to upgrade to the maximum of 4 GB and bought the bars of memory Crucial 2 x 2 GB after executing their scanner to detect the right product.

When I opened the cover of expansion memory I don't see an expansion slot (which is empty). Where is the other?

    Shaun

    Hello

First of all, I must say that you cannot improve it to 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) of RAM.
I took a look in the user manual which you can download from the Toshiba support page and it says that you can use 2 x 1 GB RAM max.

The two slots should be placed at the bottom of the unit.
I m not a Tecra A6 owner but my other laptop contains two slots memory and if a module is placed the other slot is hidden and not visible.
    Then maybe you forgot

  • Tecra A6 - memory remapping with new BIOS?

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the bios on a Tecra A6 to enable the memory remapping so that all 4 GB can be used?

    Shaun

    Hi spmontgomery,

Theoretically the BIOS update is no problem, but you should know this will improve the maximum RAM capacity because it s a limitation of the motherboard and chipset. Updating the BIOS will not help you.

As far as I know, Tecra A6 supports up to 2 GB of RAM and that s the most that you can use.

    Hello

Both modules of memory are similar?
To my knowledge, the unit should similar uses of the modules of memory for optimal performance of work. As far as I know this device was shipped with PC2700 DDR - 333 MHz RAM. Some differences with OS could cause by some memory modules with different properties.

  • Tecra M7 memory upgrade question

Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade the RAM on my Tecra M7, which came with 1 GB and is supposed to get a free site available. Since the system's maximum memory is 4 GB, I guess you can use up to 2GB stick into each slot.

My question is: can I have a 1 + 2 GB configuration (with / 3GB in total) or modules should be combined for better performance (1 + 1 GB) DDR2? I read somewhere something memory dual channel working only with identical memory modules, but I'm not an expert so I don't know?

    Any idea anyone?
    RADO

Of course, you can mix the sizes of memory. It s nothing unusual!
You can use different memory module sizes, but you should be 100% sure that both modules supports the same specifications as DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200)

  • Slot 0 of the Tecra 8200 memory does not work

I installed 2 256 MB (toshiba original) cards, but only is recognized by the bios. When I change the slots (between the 2 cards) the problem is the same. Thus, it seems not to be a defect of memory. What can I do to get the two cards to work (be a motherboard failure or a special setting)?

I have two mothers in Tecra 8200 with the same problem, it is a defect of material on the card. Only thing to do is to change the motherboard (I got last year a new roundabout 75 US$ in internet auktion) or work on with only 256 MB.

  • Tecra A5: Memory upgrade Question

My Tecra A5 has 256 MB installed.
I understand that this can be upgraded to 2 GB. I bought two 512 MB modules, but under the memory cover between it seems to only be space to install a plug-in. Y at - it might be an another available socket to use somewhere. I would appreciate a guide idiots please as looks that I totally wrong the process to upgrade the memory on my laptop.

    Hi David

Second location of memory, that you can find under the keyboard. Keyboard is fixed with two screws and you can find them under the cover of the band. If you want to do it alone, please take it easy because you can damage the sensitive plastic piece.

  • Tecra 720cdt: memory upgrade question

I'm looking for 1 oiece 128 MB of memory (MAX)? for my 720cdt. Can someone help me as to a place that I can get this or does anyone have good used sweater, that they no longer need.
Just tell me what you need.

    Thank you

    Garth

Wow, that's a really an oldie.
To my knowledge it s about 10 years.
What do you what to do on this old notebook?

In any case, I remember that the slot of memory could be at the bottom of the unit.
Am I wrong? In addition, you can use module max memory 128 MB and the memory can be upgraded to 144 MB. Why? Because as far as I know that this unit should have internal 16 MB memory and it cannot be removed.

I searched a bit on the net and found information that this module memory must be compatible:
    PA2046U 128 MB

These modules you should be able to order the Toshiba service partner in your country.
