  • Tecra M5 - Toshiba Power Saver did not do his job properly

    Hello

After looking for a tool to silence my Tecra M5 awhile, I found an apparently nice application called Toshiba Power Saver. Unfortunately this tool doesn't seem to work properly. I played with the [slider cooling method | http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8008/powersaver.jpg] (click to see a picture) and here's how it works.

The cooling method can be set to one of four options: battery optimized Performance, maximum Performance and cooling optimized, where one is supposed to be the quietest, and those of other more noisy.

Assume that the cpu fan spins at high speed at the start and I do not have anything on my laptop. I move the cursor to the battery optimized setting, click on apply and the fan (instantly) slows down (yay!). Then I need to do something about hunger for a while and finally the fan turns up the noisy power level. I then doing nothing of the brand-new, but the fan is like that * ever *. The processor is as cold as ice, the air is blown could freeze the fingers, but the fan spins like crazy to wake up my neighbours on the road.

I'm really sure that the cpu is cool? Yes. Why?
Because when I move the slider for Performance affecting now and click on apply the fan slows down (right) and remains like that until I start working on something new. Then I stop doing what I was doing and the continuous spinning fan * ever * once again.

So I change the method of cooling for battery optimized setting back again once, click on apply and the fan slows down... and so on and so forth, stuck in a vicious circle.

The key to success here is keep pressing the button apply, which the Power Saver application should do from time to time and not me and not forgetting what it is here for.

What is the problem with this app? Is there a fix available (or alternative)?
The version I have is 7.11 and runs on XP Pro SP3.

    Hello

    What about your ad here?

TOSHIBA Power saver is tool Toshiba use for years and it is preinstalled on 98% of all models of Toshiba laptops. So, in my opinion, this tool is certainly one of the best and most effective tool designed by Toshiba.

Over the last 10 years, I have worked with many Toshiba laptops and I used this tool on each laptop to optimize my work. Mix between the good performance of the processor and method of cooling level offers enough power for each working day and with a low level in the method of cooling laptop runs pretty quiet.

Maybe stupid sounds now, but I have noticed that the Portege notebooks are, perhaps, more sensitive and using tool electric saver you cannot have the same effect as on certain portable Satellite and Tecra.

I do not think that this tool doesn't work properly on your Portege but Portege laptops have a specific design and material may reach a higher temperature faster than on the other laptop models.
Portege laptops have excellent and powerful material packed in a box of small notebook.
Sometimes laptop runs quiet and if you just connect the USB mouse the cooling fan starts to run strong enough. A small business can speed up physical activity and if temperature sensors have noticed a higher temperature for a degree C only, the fan control mechanism get information starts to cool the fan turns.

It is really not easy to tell if there is something wrong or right. My personal opinion is that everything is OK. You can try to talk with the service of Toshiba. Call them and ask for explanations. They should have enough experience with this stuff.

    In any case, good luck!

  • Qosmio G20, Toshiba Power saver error

When I turn the Qosmio G20, I have a message "Toshiba Power Saver, fatal error has occurred, this program will end. Code 0 x 2»
I click on the 'ok' button and can use the computer, but after using for a while (about 1 hour for example), it becomes very slow. I check the Task Manager and find that "ccSvcHst.exe" takes up 99-100% of CPU usage. I have to turn power off, then again to use another 1 or 2 hours before slowing down again.
    Help, please.

Have you tried to delete Toshiba saving energy of the system and see if the laptop will slow down again?

Have you tried to reinstall Toshiba power saver?

  • Satellite C660 & Win XP Toshiba Power saver error 0x2

    Hello
    Ive just install xp
Once completed the installation of GST, GST gives me this error
    and will not work

any help will be so appreciated

Can you please post model mobile exact? I just want to check if your laptop is fully supported for Windows XP Home edition.
In any case, before starting to install any specific tool of Toshiba or utility, you must install the common modules first.

    Please test.

According to my experience, it is not easy to fix now, so it is also possible that you have to reinstall Windows XP Home edition and install all the drivers, tools and utilities in the correct installation order.

  • Printing error after loading the new cartridge

After loading a new cartridge (genuine) 338, everything I print has the top of the first line is missing. I rebooted the old cartridge and it prints the line correctly (even slightly). I tried to reload a new, but it still does not print correctly. The alignment test after loading was very good. Can anyone help me to solve the problem or is it just a faulty cartridge?

Rich thanks for your help and for taking the time to answer my question. I'm sorry that I was not to give complete information about the printer, as this has been my first post - I'll do better next time. The issue has resolved itself today! After several attempts to print and reload the cartridge, I dropped, but unexpectedly, the printer has pulled up and began to do a second test of its own alignment, and that solved the problem.

  • Satellite A100 - message: Toshiba Power Saver already started

When I turn on with power supply connected, I get a false error message that says 'Toshiba Power Saver already begun'.
How can I get rid of this message permanently?

    Hello

I guess that the Toshiba power saver trying to load twice.
    Akuma s suggestion should work.
Once the energy saver has been uninstalled, all entries that control energy saver should be removed too.
After this, reinstall the new energy saver

The alternative might be disables a power saver in msconfig.
To ensure that the access the msconfig (in RUN type msconfig) and remove the mark of an energy intake that you might find in the Startup tab.
Then restart the laptop and check if it worked

  • Toshiba power saver disappeared completely

    Hello

My "Toshiba power saver" disappeared - there is still an icon in the 'systensteuerung' but when I try to open it nothing happens. But still when I go to open the windows of Windows XP "energy management" tells me to use the "Toshiba power saver.
This appeared after I used the "steganos security suite" to clean my system. First I did not notice the change because only a few icons in the taskbar where gone. The program must have deleted something. Does anyone know how to restore the "Toshiba power saver?
I hope that there is another way to reinstall the "Toshiba power saver" instead of reinstalling the entire system...

.. masse be nice if someone could help me.

    Ciao, Christoph

    Hi Christoph,

You don't say what model of laptop you have, but you should be abl; e to load the Toshiba Power utility tools and Utilities CD that came with your laptop.

If you do not have this CD, then you should be able to download the utility from the download section of the Web from Toshiba site specific to your model of laptop.

  • Portege S100: How to restore the system TOSHIBA Power Saver setting

When I had to test my battery and created a new setting of power on my laptop, I accidentally deleted the default schema TOSHIBA Power Saver of my those listed on my utility on Control Panel Power Options.

I tried to restore the Toshiba utility, by recreating a power scheme called "TOSHIBA Power Saver" - but Power Options says that there is already a framework plan of the same name.

When I start the laptop, I get an error message saying that the TOSHIBA Power Saver utility has experienced a fatal problem and he has completed the program.

Can anyone advise me on what I do:

-restore default TOSHIBA Power Saver setting.
    -stop the runtime error occur
-put things the way they were back.

    Thank you very much

    Seems so ;(
I would recommend the recovery CD because the whole procedure takes about 10 minutes only.

But don't forget to save your data if it's important.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M on Windows 7, Toshiba Power Saver does not work

    I have a Satellite A660 - 11M and I'm working on Windows 7 Ultimate

The problem is that I download all drivers and updates but the toshiba power saver does not its installed without error and TPSLaunch (green icon) does not open when I click on it and no icon, I found in the control panel for the afterIi program do not install the package any added value!

Under Win7, it works a little different. TOSHIBA Power saver is part of the advanced settings ower.
Enter the power management you are using and click on advanced power options. There you should find Toshiba energy savings.

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver software is turn off the optical disc drive, and I'm unable to re - turn on the power.

    Original title:

    Aloha!

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio x 775-3dv78 running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
Similar to another old post here, I have an intermittent problem where the Toshiba Power Saver software is off the ODD (a Matshita UJ240EF - BD - RE) and I am unable to turn on the power.  To put the ODD back on, it's a matter of restarting (sometimes several times) until the STRANGE somehow turns on.
Sometimes, when I do a hot or cold boot, a window opens asking me if I want Toshiba Power Saving technology to turn ON the ODD.
I click 'Yes', but the drive remains switched off.
I also try to use function - same key controls... The STRANGE remains turned off.
    Here are the "best":
As described in the former post office, inside the Windows power settings, there is a slot layout titled "TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings v8.9.9.64".
In this context, normally there is ONLY a framework for 'cooling method.  BUT only when the ODD is disabled, a second parameter appears to "Optical Drive Power".
Change that on ONE for battery and plugged in fact NONE no difference... The STRANGE remains OFF!
Toshiba support is of no help.  Their answer to this problem is to run a 'Mr Fixit' which I discovered just unrecognized devices and then removes the upper and lower filters for the reader.  This "difficulty" might work from time to time... when it does, the ODD is somehow transformed into a 'removable' instead of one device ATA device.
But then in a few days, the STRANGE turns off again.
Something different maybe notable, I found after that I continued services and the related process, programs is that the version number on the Toshiba modules show "8.9.6" - not the "8.9.9.64" in the window Power Options.
And before you ask (LOL!) what's happening on a soft reinstallation of the operating system by the media of recovery Toshiba with all Windows 7 updates applied.
While I'm waiting for a possible response, I'll do the following:
Uninstall and reinstall all THE software Toshiba provided duty with the STRANGE (energy saving, combustion, players, etc.)
I will also shoot material part and make sure that the STRANGE is well inserted in the connector (IDE?) and that the connector is firmly attached to the motherboard.
IF who does things, I'll update this message and inform you all.
Otherwise, any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Mahalo!

    Hello

Satellite L300 - 17L belongs to the PSLBCE series.
I chose this model number and found exactly the same energy saving that you tried to install.
So I guess that you have chosen the right Power Saver utility for this model of laptop.

But did you also install the common Module?
This software must be installed first before installing other tools.
Update you the Win XP for the State?

    Check it!

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall the Toshiba power saver utility?
    Please do it!

I had a similar problem of Eve on my laptop satellite.
I finally solved this problem by reinstalling the energy saving and the utility of Modules common Toshiba.
The common modules are required to run other programs from Toshiba as for example energy saving.

Just another clue; especially this program error appears because of a corrupted registry.
You can use the freeware like CCleaner to clean the registry entries.

    Best regards

  • Re: Toshiba Power Saver fatal error. Code 0 x 0

    Hi all

I recently received this new notebook Tecra M10 (model PTMB0A - 00M 001) replace my laptop to existing business. It came loaded with Windows XP and built by the standard portable computer generation.

It works fine except that at startup I get the error message "a fatal error has occurred. The program will end. "Code: 0x0.

I did some research and I think that the original version may have been compromised, because there aren't has no files in the directory C:\Program Toshiba Saver except for a TPSTrace.log that has this message inside: "a fatal error has occurred. The program will end. "Code: 0x0 rental: TPwrSave.cpp (140). The Power Saver software claims to be v7.11.00.

I downloaded the latest version 7.11.10 (for XP) and when you try to install, the software asks you if it can uninstall the existing version and as it tries, the fatal error code: 0 x 0 occurs which always uninstall, and I suppose that reinstall it. It seems a pity to restore from CD lose all data and other software that is very good because of this software pooey to save energy. Given the original installation was probably standard, there is no guarantee that even if I do a system restore on CD the same problem not re - manifests.

Is there a way I can do XP think software is deleted (it seems to be absent physically, but XP think it is present) by forcing an uninstall. I can then try to reinstall it to see if I can do better than what it was when it was delivered to me. Otherwise, I'd be more than happy to just work without it, for the trouble it causes.

    Thanks in advance.

    Raymond

You must delete it from the registry.

Try CCleaner first, it may be able to remove the bad registry for you keys. (google for "CCleaner")

Otherwise, run Regedit, and then search for "to sleep". Make sure that you delete, in order to ensure the results refer to Toshiba Power Saver.

PS. back up the registry first. You can do this by creating a Restore Point in Windows. (Panel of-> system)

  • Problem with Toshiba Power Saver Tecra S1

    Hello

I have problem with Toshiba Power Saver (GST).
I installed SP2 on my WinXP Pro, and after this operation, all works well. After a few days GST on icon disappear from the task bar. When I open the Console from Toshiba, then GST I can see only incomlete standard dialog box. There is no configuration icons, but initially were, and I set all the settings. Now, there are 4 black boxes (2 small as a small icon) and 2 large as icon bigest at the bottom and a large black on the right.
I try to reinstal GST, but it had no effect.

    Can someone help me

    Alex

    Hello Alex

I have never seen anything like it. There is obviously some problems that doesn t allow the graphic illustration of the ATP. The first step is always reinstalling the software. I don't know what you need to do exactly. In my opinion, you should try to remove the GST and SP2. Install SP2 again and after this GST.

If there is not the worst success solutions are preinstall the device using the recovery CD.

  • Fatal error of TOSHIBA Power Saver 0x51A on Satellite M115-S3094

    Hello

By the subject, that's the problem. Unfortunately, my computer which is Toshiba M115-S3094 has just recently a fatal error with the Toshiba Power Saver program like 3 days ago. The Toshiba Power Saver not only does not want to work, but it is even more present in the taskbar. First, I went to the properties to be able to restore the program, but nothing helped.

Then I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the program, and he always gave me the same problem with the error: the program ends. Error fatal 0x51A. Right now, my laptop does not on the mode of power supply Toshiba but on common Windows system, such as the presentation or the laptop.

So I need help to restore the Toshiba Power Saver. I run Toshiba M115-S3094 with Windows Media Center Edition.

    Hello

Satellite M115 seems to be a Toshiba laptop because of the 5 at the end of the number.
In this case, you must use the Toshiba on the Toshiba site energy saving us. Did you?

Maybe you used the right utility electricity saver, so possibly that some registry or system files keys are damage in this case install the new OS for the Toshiba Recovery CD would be desirable.
