Tecra A8 - Ctrl Alt Delete doesn't work
Tecra A8 Swedish version, around the age of 18 months. Windows XP SP2 OEM and SUSE 10. Has worked perfectly so far.
When I turn it on, I get to the Windows login screen where I'm supposed to press Ctrl Alt Del to enter the password. Problem is that nothing happens when I try this key combination.
Same thing happens in Mode without failure.
SUSE 10 works very well and all the keys on the keyboard work.
Discs from Toshiba XP want to wipe the entire hard drive. No question!
Any ideas anyone?
It's very strange question. Have you tried to use the CTRL key on the right?
Try to use the external keyboard. OS at startup check that all three keys separately.

I can't fint anything that described this problem in the manual eighter. Sometimes he runs verry slow for a few minutes, but I can't check which takes all the CPU power.
Need help please.Thank you
TrulsHi Alison,.
I guess you are trying to access the Task Manager to see what processes are running. Try right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen system, the task manager must be one of the options in the pop-up window.

CTRL + ALT + DELETE no longer works on my PC
I used to be able to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE when my PC has pick up in a program. Now, when I do I get this: "Manager tasks has been disabled by the administrator." My PC is being used and I don't know anything about a previous administrator. How can I replace this message and return to the use of C + A + D? Or is there another trick to get out the programs that do not meet?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
If your system is at a standstill and you must use the Task Manager to kill a process, it is not normal and your system has a problem that you can solve.
If your task manager has been disabled (unless you have disabled it on purpose), then you certainly have another problem to accompany your first problem.
The usual advice along the lines of "something has been disabled in Group Policy" and that's probably true, but if you are using XP Home, is not Group Policy Editor in XP Home and which is not really you tell where to look in group policy, even if you run the Group Policy Editor. You need to know how to fix it.
Here is a complete solution that works for all versions of XP and requires no hunting around to find where things have been disabled in the Group Policy Editor. If you happened to have documentation for Group Policy registry locations, there is no hunting, but most people don't have documentation.
Unless you have disabled these tools on purpose, chances are good that your system has a malware infection. The malware knows what tools you use to try to find and remove, for the malware disables the things you are more likely to consume and prevents them from running if you can't find it.
All malicious software tools you currently use or have used failed to protect your system.
The malware will be happy you trick into thinking that you need to so something drastic to fix your system - as a facility repair, system restore point or a total reinstallation of XP. This is what it would be like you, but these measures are not necessary.
You must solve the immediate problem of the tools does not, then scan your system for malware when you are finished.
No matter what kind of malware you've used analytical tools, they are unlikely to solve this problem, because they cannot tell if the changes made to your system have been on purpose (you or an administrator who makes them) or some malware changed them, so the analysis tools will let these things alone (it's usually a good thing).
If your task manager is afflicted in this way, there are probably other things that also do not work - like the registry editor, System Restore and the command prompt, so fix them all at once even if you have not discovered they are broken again.
These commands from registry removes the registry entries that are stop opening programs. Although the registry entries do not exist, these commands are safe to run.
Before making any changes to your registry, back up the registry with this free and popular tool:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

enableit.reg
After you save the file, close Notepad.
Locate the file enableit.reg on your desktop and double-click it.
Alternatively, you can right-click on the enableit.reg file, choose open with... and select the registry editor.
Answer in the affirmative to the question... Are you sure you want to add the information in the registry?
You should then see a message that information has been registered in the register.
If the registry editor has also been disabled, you will not be able to run registry changes to fix the rest of the problems, then you must first activate the command registry editor run. Even if the registry editor is not broken, these commands are safe to run.
Click Start, run and enter in the box (copy/paste would be safer) the following text:
Tracking Add HKCU/v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0
Click OK and answer Yes, if you are prompted with a message of crash.
Click Start, run and enter in the box (copy/paste would be safer) the following text:
Tracking Add HKLM/v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0
Click OK and answer Yes, if you are prompted with a message of crash.
Now that the registry editor has been enabled, you can run the enableit.reg file to troubleshoot issues.
Depending on the circumstances, your tools can work right away, but go ahead to avoid the question "did you restart your system?" later, and restart your system at the time of trial to be sure things work again.
Allow the tools in this way only solves the symptom of malware infection, but does not solve the real problem (the system is currently or has been infected by malware) so you're not quite done yet - your system might still be infected.
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems.
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
You can also delete the enableit.reg file when you are finished.
Do, or do not. There is no test.

Tecra M5 Explorer does not display needs materials - ctrl + alt + delete
I bought a Toshiba Tecra M5 some 10 days ago and installed Windows XP, Office 2003... As I remember, early on, I had the following problem (this happens several times a day):
When I want to run a task, for example: clicking on a subdirectory in the Solution Explorer, it does not show its content. After that I do ctrl + alt + delete, it shows the content. Then I just simply close the Task Manager window and continue working. This happens in Internet Explorer and other programs. What is the problem/solution?
Thanks in advance.
Seems to be something wrong with the software installed and the registry keys
This problem appears on the image of preinstalled Toshiba?
If not, then all the 3rd applications that are installed on the laptop have a bad influence on the operating system

Windows Vista boot problems, need to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to work around
original title: VISTA Boot Up problemI have an emachine with Vista for over 2 years with no problems, but recently, when I turn on the PC I get a black screen that says: "Boot From CD-ROM AHCI. NVIDIA Boot Agent 249.0542. Client MAC ADDR: 00 1 D 72 A9 D7 B6 GUIDE FFFFFF... "In order to get past this screen, I press Ctrl-Alt-Del and it will then start VISTA. The last 3 days, the Ctrl-Alt-Delete method failed the first time and I had to repeat up to 3 times. Now I wonder how long the Ctrl-Alt-Del bypass method will last. What can I do to get the pc to boot normally again?
start in safe mode.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete disk error to restart?
My Lenovo Y530 acted weird enough for about a week after it defrag with defraggler. Gel constantly and trolling. I had to shut down by pressing the button several times. Whereas yesterday it crashed and I fixed in safe mode after you run disk checks. Today, after it in hibernation for a night, it now reads «Disk-read error Ctrl + alt + delete to restart» There's nothing else with this message. Start the computer as usual with the sign of lenovo, but after that, it goes to the error. Lenovo, the purchase of the computer also doesn't give me a disk to restore the system, or any disk. The only program that could I suppose is one key recovery. Even then, I hesitate to use it after you have used in the past. He erases my HDD and resets its original configuration. Thanks for the help!
Hi anonymous,
The error message may be due to one of the following reasons.
· You may have a corrupt MBR (master boot record)
· Your hard drive may have a bad sector
· Defective disk
To fix this, we would require the Windows vista installation disc.
I suggest that arrange you for a Windows vista installation disc and try the steps mentioned below.
Method 1
Run the tool on the computer system restart and check if it works.
What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
Method 2
Run the Bootrec.exe tool.
To run this tool, start the Windows RE and run the FixMbr command.

Equium A100-549 - reading disc error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete to restart
Hello
I have a laptop Toshiba Equium a100-549, about 3 years, Windows XP Home Edition.
Everything worked very well so far. When starting my computer, I received the message:A disk read error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete
I don't want to lose my dataPlease please I need some advice what to do
Kind regards
AGM> I don't want to lose my data
Well. Everyone knows that a HARD disk problem can happen and all of a sudden you may lose all the data stored on the HARD drive.
That is why it s always recommended to backup the data on additional HDD, DVD, etc.I'm not sure if this will help but try this:
Try to boot from the disk Win XP (NOT the Toshiba Recovery disk) and press r. means repair and should start the repair console.
The similar DOS window should open and there, you can use a command:
CHKDSK drive/p/rThe chkdsk command checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it.
More details can be found here:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058If that does not help, then you need to reinstall new OS.

No mode of the Tablet CTRL + ALT + DELETE key or Windows security?
I just bought a laptop / Tablet HP TX2-1020US that came with Vista Home Premium. Good so far. I upgraded to OS to Vista Ultimate and my original SBS2008 domain-joined and worked on a large too.
The problem is: when I'm in tablet mode, no button is "Windows Security" referred to in the prompt "press CTRL + ALT + DELETE or Windows security" in the starting System. I end up having to convert portable mode, press CAD and convert again in tablet mode and use the biometric login each time. Same thing to unlock the machine after an invocation of the screensaver, etc..
HP support says they don't support "as sold" configuration, even if I am invited for an upgrade as it sets up for the first time, I am on my own if I do. Not a very "the computer's personal again' approach to customer service... ;-)
I thought I could reassign a touch on the surface of the Tablet--maybe the button "Mediasmart" I wouldn't need otherwise. But the upgrade apparently took a toll on that too since the dialog box control Tablet PC Panel, in the general and the tabs button, I decidedly enigmatic after the upgrade and the tablet button ID is displayed as @BttnCmn.DLL,-2, -9, -7, etc. (for example the change in screen orientation button is @BttnCmn.DLL,-9).
I would appreciate a solution that is running boards - the need to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and brings me directly to where a slip of the finger is a login, or a reallocation of button so I could tap without having to disable-tablet-mode each time.
Thanks in advance,
RichardAnd one possible answer is:
- Administrative Tools | Local security policy
- (Elevation of privilege)
- Local policies | Security options
- Interactive logon to change: don't require CTRL + ALT + DELETE to "Undefined" to "Enabled".
- Close local security policy tool.
CTRL + ALT + DELETE screen is bypassed, and the login screen is used instead (for which the fingerprint reader works fine).
Thank you
