Tecra M4 SelectBay HDD adaptor SATA?

Hello!

I was wondering: is there a SelectBay HDD SATA for the Tecra M4 adapter? The primary drive is SATA, but is there a way for the disk to reactivate to be SATA? I have the PA1314U-1ETC adapter, but it doesn't help me!

Thanks in advance,
Josh

Hello

I found only this selectable adapter Bay HARD drive: PA3134U-1ETC.
To my knowledge, you can only use this adapter and it supports only the IDE interface.

I want to obtain a secondary hard drive for my Tecra M3. I don't use my optical drive much, so I thought I was doing the Slim SelectBay Hard Drive Adapter (PA3134U-1ETC). My question is this, will work any EIDE 2.5 "internal HD with this?

I thought of doing one of them for example:

    Hello

As much as I know that the slim select bay adapter uses an IDE interface. In this case, you must use compatible hard disks IDE.
But I m not 100% sure of the size of the HARD drive.

    Hi all

I have a tecra S3-PTS30-E, which came from the company, I work for which was no longer necessary.

I replaced the current 40 GB with two different - hdd

    Western Digital 250 GB WD2500BPVT

    Toshiba 120 GB - MK1252GSX

I tried both separately and windows XP pro service pack 3 will not recognize either.

I have downloaded the driver sata toshiba Web site and installed via F6 at startup, windows asks you what driver, windows 2000 or XP, I click on XP and you enter, windows continues until advising so none found HDD

I also tried to download drivers intel after searching other threads, and it does not work through floppy.

I also added the drivers toshiba XP ISO using nlite to create a disk slipstream and while xp is loading the disc, I noticed 'pilot toshiba raid' being installed. Same no result no hard drive found.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    > Tecra S3 - new 250 gb Sata hdd - windows does not recoginse

According to the specifications on this page:

    http://reviews.CNET.com/laptops/Toshiba-Tecra-S3-s411td/1707-3121_7-31556311.html

Your laptop's Ide interface, as far as I know on the old IDE interface there is a limitation of LBA 28 bits, which means that the laptop can only manage hard disks up to 128 GB.

  • HP Pavilion A6500f - product KQ495AA-ABA-BIOHD 3 error-DVD and HDD as SATA 3 & 4

BIOHD 3 error when diags are run.  BIOS sees DVD / HDD SATA 4/3.  DED/HDD plugged in Sata 2/1. Only 4 Sata ports but bios sees Sata 1-6.  If I plug the DVD/HDD in Sata 4/3, then Bios considers Sata 6/5.  Failed to get 1/2 Sata to see all readers.  Replacement battery Cmos and tried clearing Cmos.  No help.  Suspect the original hard drive is good but the new hard disk was even no problem starting.  For the hard drive setup disk does not start on DVD if new hard drive can not be put in place.  Can select HDD or dvd in startup path but still does not start on dvd or hard drive.  Any ideas?

SATA 3/4 are correct.  1/2 SATA are reserved for IDE devices.  A bad DVD player has caused the problem.  He was apparently suspended the bus and prevents the system from the bootable device recognition.  A new DVD SATA enabled to start and so to reload the operating system.

  • Tecra M4: SelectBay DVD discs

    Hello

I wonder if anyone knows if Toshiba plans to bring a better burner SelectBay DVD PA3359E-1DV2 (Slim SelectBay DVD Super Multi Drive).

I would like a DVD burner in my Tecra M4, but this one, the best available seems very less specified by modern office standards. I would have thought that they could, at least, come out with a burner that writes at 4 x speed for all types of DVD disc. In case you're wondering the written PA3359E-1DV2 DVD + RW, DVD - RW and DVD - RAM. DVD - R 4 x and all the rest at 2 x - not very impressive, even if it's a SelectBay module!

The interesting thing about the SelectBay DVD burners is that PA3359E-1DV2 costs less (£160) it is less specified brothers PA3410E-1DV2 and PA3231E-1DV1 (£200 for each). Very confusing! Attention to these model numbers if you go shopping!

    Hello

As you know the Slim SelectBay DVD Super Multi Drive PA3359E-1DV2 is designed only for laptops and you can not compare a desktop readers with a portable PC.
You have to make a compromise.
I burn my DVD with a 2 x speed and for me it s enough.
But if you want to buy a DVD burner, I recommend you to buy an external.

  • Tecra A10 - lost HDD Recovery for Vista

    Hello Toshiba,

I bought a Tecra a month ago. Here are the details:
    Device name: Tecra A10 - 11L
    Unit number: PTSB0E-00C006AR

For some reason I have to downgrade the machine in Windowx XP (using the CD-ROM supplied in the packaging recovery). I do not use Vista.
Now I need to go back to the factory installed Vista Business.
I didn't create a Vista recovery CD before downgrading to XP.

I think I lost recovery disk for Vista.

Then I found the site to order: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/serial.aspx

    1. I'm not sure I'll order the recovery Vista or XP Media?, it shows (price (including VAT): EUR 29.33)
What recovery media that I will get?
    a. VISTA Business recovery
    b. recovery XP Media? (that I have)

2 is there a hidden partition that I can use it to retrieve the vista?

    Can someone help/guide me?

    Sincerely,

    Andrew

You are right. After installing Windows XP edition family the HDD recovery went and it cannot be used to install more factory settings. There is no hidden partition and you can't do anything.
I really don't understand why you ignored Toshiba reminder on creating recovery DVDs.

In any case, I think that you will get Vista 32 Bit SP1 Business (EN) because with this OS is delivered and preinstalled Tecra.

  • How to install XP on Tecra M9 - No HDD

    Hi all

I want to help me solve this problem.
I have a new laptop Toshiba Tecra M9 with Win Vista

I need to install Win Xp on it
When I boot from Xp cd (Xp home) it is stop and show me a witch message means there is no hard drive on this computer

Please: I want to know what a steps to install win Xp on this laptop Toshiba Tecra m9

Thank you very much for the support
    Ahmad chbas

The solution is very simple. And as far as I know he was displayed 1000 times here in the forum
I think that if you want to use the Forum search option, you would find enough threads describing this issues and provide a solution. ;)

Intel Matrix Storage Manager is the key. It s a bunch of Intel that contains the SATA drivers. The point is that your HARD drive is not visible due to a missing SATA driver. ;)

Uppsss I found the solution ;)

In any case seek to Intel Matrix Storage Manager or similar cases here in the forum and you will get more details.

  • Mix SAS HDD with SATA SSD's in RAID

    Hello

On what level is this possible?

Can I mix SATA and SAS disks on the controller RAID (PERC H710), group or virtual disk level? Server PowerEdge R720.

    I want to be is:

    PERC controller:

-2 SAS HDD in RAID 1 connectors (for the operating system)

    -2 SATA SSD's in RAID 1 (logs)

-HARD drive SAS 6 in RAID 10 (to the database)

    Whether in separate RAID groups?

Can I combine SATA and SAS in a RAID group, virtual disk or only on the level of controller?

All my drives won't be visible in Windows, if it is SATA or SAS?

    Thank you!

    Vellemannv,

The configuration of the Perc controller you would be perfect. You can mix SAS and SATA drives on the controller, it can handle both. You have SAS bays and bays this SATA on the same controller. You can NOT have SAS and SATA disks present in the SAME table, however.

The OS will see the different virtual drives as well.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Re: Tecra M9 - 15I - HDD that upgrade?

I think of upgrading my laptop HARD drive. I seek through my options and don't know whether to go for a HARD disk with a rpm of 5400 or 7200. Read information from the manufactureres, a 7200 RPM hard drives are usually better.

But no one knows how this will affect the performance of the laptop? that is the life of the battery will be reduced?

    Hello

In my opinion it according to the application that you are running. If you use Notepad for office and Internet only, HARD 5400 RPM disk should be fast enough. Faster disk HARD s bring only a significant performance difference if you play games where large files must be loaded or you are working with large system files (a lot of s Go).
In addition, faster hard drives produce more heat and reduce the battery life.

Normally, Tecra M9 is designed for business and work. It s not a multimedia artist then I would choose the disk 5400 RPM.

  • Problem external HDD Toshiba SATA HDD inside (take 2)

I plugged all our computers (iMac, old Toshiba laptop, a MacBook) a portable hard side with 2 USB 'heads' we had quite a few years. On this hard drive, we have everything, pictures stored in documents of all computers. I plugged it in (the iMac for example) but in the devices section of the Finder, it does not appear. One of our laptop Windows says there is that a top mistake and nothing can be found. Can you help me understand exactly what is happening, and if I would be able to recover our data?  Please help me. We really want to be able to use it again.  I once tried to get him to an electonics shop and he would cost a fortune for den without knowing if our files can be recovered or not.

Mumbere, I had to choose a category that had nothing to do with my subject. Don't me ashamed for that.

    Hello

Have you tried using the 3rd party to recover your data?

The free version of this program is very good:

    https://www.Piriform.com/Recuva/download

If cela or similar programs don't work no, using data recovery specialists is the other option.

But, as you say, thet are very expensive.

Good luck with the recovery of your data.

    See you soon.

Edit: I know you follow the advice given to start a new Thread, but it was not necessary that your response to it pushed to the top of the list of threads where he would have been noticed by others and support provided here...

Please stay with this thread now and forget the others to avoid confusion.

  • Electricity taken my Tecra M2 is broken

    Hello
Taking my Tecra M2 power has broke and the laptop is unloaded. Is it possible to fix without involving an expensive repairman - given the age is not really a value of 1200 DKK (180 euros).

Otherwise, what external cabinet is suitable for hard drive? I looked and have no idea if it's a SATA or PATA drive?

I agree with the previous user. Using ARP III you do not costly repairs. The laptop will get power to the expansion port placed in the lower corner.
ARP III has PA3314U/E/Z-1PRP part number.

What you mean with external cabinet? If you want to use select bay and the second HDD instead of the DVD player you SelectBay HDD adaptor with PA3134U-1ETC part number.

    Good bye

  • Tecra HDD crash - how to retrieve some important data?

It is a follow-up question to my last question answered successfully.
My Tecra 60 GB HDD has stopped working and I would like to get a few days of emails etc if possible.
The Tecra default Mode options without failure, once launched, returns via a BSOD no matter what the safe mode option is taken.

    I have:
checked in the BIOS - it is considered as here.
run SEATOOLs for Dos and it says that there is a flaw on short and long tests
the HARD drive via a box connected USB to my other PC and finally it say that there is an input/OUTPUT error.
Ran CHKDSK through my CD of XP and after 26%, he says there are one or more unrecoverable errors.

Also, I tried an old HDD that is functioning normally in the Tecra.

    Any help would be appreciated

    > connected via a case and USB HARD drive to my other PC and finally he says that there is input/output of error.

This means that you are not able to get access to the same HARD drive using an external USB enclosure?
It seems that the HARD drive is damaged and in most cases, the data could not be retrieved on the usual way.
Of course, there are various services of data recovery, but they charge between 500 and 1000 to try to save the disaster either logic or mechanical data.

There are also different tools that could be useful as RecoverMyFiles of GetData, Ontrack EasyRecovery DataRecovery or Data Rescue II of Prosoft, but you have to pay for all these professional applications
