Tecra R940-1EE - dead with lead error 4Eh

Hello.

Last night without any warning my laptop has stopped working. I tried with and without battery, press the button turn off for 20-30 seconds without battery, with battery, without the CC adapter, etc.
The error code I get on power led (flashes orange) is 01001110 - 4Eh.

Is one knows what means this error? I'm sure that this is a power related issue, but I'm not able to find what the error codes.

Thank you

Hello

Autour Googling, I found the info the error codes 4 * h means that there is an error with the S3V out.
There is no code 4Eh 4Eh.

Just follow codes are available:
40 h tension S3V is on 3.47V.
45 h S3Vvoltage is less 3.14V.
46 h blood S3V is under 3.14V or less when the computer starts up.

That's all I found online in various forums.

  • Tecra R940 with Windows 7 SSD boot failure

My company bought laptop computers Tecra R940 and replace the HDD with Kingston SSDNow v + 200 V + 120 GB SSD drives. On a test after installing the SSD device, the laptop was rebuilt with our brand image (Windows 7 x 64) that has successfully completed.

Update post however a number of issues is apparent:

1 occasionally during a restart, the laptop will display and then hang at 'starting windows' screen for the Windows logo animation appear and with the light of the hard drive continuously. After a period of time that a Windows recovery is attempted and, possibly, a reported error:

    Status: 0xc00000e9

This problem will not occur at every startup, but once every 2 or 3.

    2. the following error message is logged in the Windows system log

    Source: ATAPI
    Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1. update the R940 BIOS to the latest available (6.40).
    2. has confirmed that the BIOS SATA Controller is set to AHCI.
    3. not confirmed there are no available SSD drive firmware update.
    4. install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver of Toshiba (11.0.0.1032).
5 tried different SSD. Same errors identified, so not a faulty SSD.
6 tried the SSD in a Toshiba Portege R930. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
7 reinstall the original HARD disk. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
8A confirmed a 2nd unit (with installed SSD) logs the same event ID 11.

My tests left me at a point where I think that there is something bad at the end of R940 with a hardware or software that does not like the SSD.

If someone has solved a similar problem or have thoughts on fixing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Specific installation of corporate images are always full of risks, and quite often, there are different problems. As much as I know in the past Toshiba has created special images of recovery for some companies who ordered a specific number of booklets for employees.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I would like to know if you have tried to install own OS Win7 using the original disk of Microsoft.

I mean that it must be possible to install Win7 clean on the new laptop models. I tested it on my U940 satellite and it works well. I had some trouble with Toshiba specific stuff (tools and utilities), but it was not so important and work with Win7 was possible in any case.

  • Tecra R940 - error upgrading to Win 8 via Toshiba recovery DVD

    Hi all

I just bought this brand new Tecra R940 dealer of Toshiba in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, about three weeks ago.

The machine is with preinstalled and activated Windows 7 Professional. In the area were also two recovery DVD Windows 8 Pro. The seller specifically says that the machine comes with Windows 7 with a "free" update for Windows 8 on two DVDs.

Now, I didn't really set Windows 8 business (I've tried a few times in the past and didn't care much for him - of course), so after that I set up the machine and install all my software and updates, I created a Windows 7 system image and decided to try again to Windows 8.

So, I jumped the first two DVDs in the drive and rebooted. I pressed F12 and tried to boot from the DVD drive and... nothing! I kept getting the error "non system disk or disk error; Press any key to continue. "I tried several times but nothing helped, so I started only in Windows 7.

    What I'm missing here?

    Thanks in advance,
    Shady

    Hello

Before you start do something please create Windows 7 preinstalled using recovery media creator Toshiba recovery media. Later if you want to have Windows 7 once again you can install it using this recovery media only.

Back to your problem. Now if you want to install Windows 8 using sent discs please change the settings of the BIOS first.

  • Tecra R940 - 1 hr: what happens to work out of the box with Linux?

    I'm considering buying a laptop Tecra R940 - 1 hr.
I'm going to use it with linux (ubuntu) system.

What happens to work out of the box?
Should I expect any problems with the display/network/wifi/sound?
What about camera, usb 3.0 and bt?

What is possible to work? Suspend? Function keys? Fingerprint reader? SD reader?

    What's not to work?

I run Ubuntu Studio (12.04) on a Tecra A11-ST3504, and everything works perfectly.

However, your computer probably has the latest UEFI instead of the BIOS, and this causes problems for some with start-up and installation.

If the live system starts and runs, I'd go for it.

I'll put the admins the trouble to make their usual warning: "of course, Linux is not supported by Toshiba."

    Enjoy!

  • Cannot find drivers Tecra R940

    Hi team,

Need help. My Tecra R940 with windows 8 has two things does not:

    Finger scanner printing and webcam.

The finger print scanner I see it needs drivers from Device Manager
BUT the webcam is not there on Device Manager as there is no. To make it worse the toshiba site doesn't have the drivers

    Help!

BUT the webcam is not there on Device Manager as there is no. To make it worse the toshiba site doesn't have the drivers

the unique webcam driver is not available for win 8 / system Win8.1 or win 10 because the device should be recognized automatically by Microsoft OS.

You need to install is the driver for the Toshiba System...

In addition, in most cases, the webcam should be enabled in the BIOS... sometimes its possible that the webcam is disabled in the BIOS and that's why the system cannot recognize the internal webcam

  • Questions of Tecra R940 - keyboard and touchpad

TECRA R940: I had problems with my touch pad and the keyboard of the laptop.

The button disables itself allows erratically (usually when entering) and several keys on the keyboard either does not work or does not work (pushing allows it to key ALT keys T and T cannot be typed and pushing key 5 05 typed results).

The catalyst for these issues seems to be related to the automatic updates of Windows. I noticed these problems started after a Windows Automatic Update 12/19/2014 titled "Critical update".

Now, when I uninstall the updated Microsoft Windows security, keyboard problems are fixed (with the exception of the key, which does not work for some reason any).

However, the touch pad problem remains, so using a wireless mouse is now a must.

Should I uninstall and reinstall a new driver for the keyboard and touch pad?

    Hello

The keyboard driver cannot be updated or installed as it s already part of the Windows System.
But from my point of view of a few you need to test the functionality of the keyboard using the external USB keyboard.

In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem isn't related to the update of the system, but the functioning of the internal keyboard that would require replacement of keyboard.

The touchpad driver should be available on the Toshiba UE driver page. You will find the Alps Electric as well as the driver for the Synaptics touchpad.

  • How do I update the BIOS on the Tecra R940?

Are there instructions for BIOS update for my Tecra R940/Win7Pro/64 bit?
    Thank you
    AB - Oz

On the BIOS Toshiba download page you can download the version of WIN. This means once downloaded BIOS, you must run it under Windows running as all other applications.
By the way: is there a reason to update the BIOS? Have you noticed any problems with your machine?

  • Tecra R940 - 1 H does support external resolution 2560 x 1440

    Hello

    I use a laptop TECRA R940-1HP
I want to buy professional instructor Phillip 272P4QPJKEB/00, with a resolution of 2560 x 1440.
    Please write to me.

My laptop can support such a resolution?

Support of external resolution depends on the graphics card that is built into the laptop.

As I know the Tecra R940-1HP supports the chip Intel HD Graphics 4000.

To my knowledge, this chip Intel HD 4000 supports max resolution of 2560 x 1600/32 bit via Display Port.

I guess more details on Intel's own graphic chip found on the Intel page.

    Welcome them

  • Availability Tecra R940-S9440 for the France

    Hello

I'm trying to find out if the R940 Tecra-S9440 (HD + screen) will be available for the France
I wasn't able to get information from the commercial services of Toshiba in France.
    Who should I contact?

R940 with screen HD + is available on the Toshiba... direct web site but not with a french keyboard.

    Thanks for your help

Tecra R940-S9440 will be offered in the U.S. market only. Similar model will be perhaps offered on the European market. I put t think that someone here can help you with this.

Your question is for the s Toshiba marketing division. I assume that they will make the decision what model will be offered here in Europe.

As you can see same Toshiba commercial services in France cannot help you with this.
I m not 100% sure, but I think the Tecra R940 - 1 4 is available in France, but it has a screen HD and non HD +.
Maybe in a few months Toshiba will offer HD screen + for this model of laptop. Try to talk with dealers the. They sometimes have good information on what's new.

  • Why 'Read a fixed number of samples' help with the error 200279?

    Hello world

It is a question about a tip found in the explanations on the acquisition of data error-200279. This explanation it is said: '... ". reading a fixed number of samples instead of all available samples can fix this... »

AFAIK the DAQ system buffer is a ring buffer, so we can consider having a writing position and a position of reading "in motion" along the ring. While the playback position is the position of writing, everything is brilliant. But if writing catch up reading, samples will be overwritten and therefore-> error-200279.

    So here's my question:

I do not understand why a fixed amount of reading samples would help me with this error. I don't understand why other Councils (increase in the size of the buffer or the frequency of reading) would help me because they reduce the probability of the playback position being outrunned by the position of the writing.

But if I read everything which is available, whenever I read the only way for the buffer fills would be that the time between two readings take more time than necessary fill the entire buffer.

Or in other words to each reading I will read at least as many elements that it has been filled by writing since the last read, so the only way to fill the buffer would fill completely at once since the last reading.

This should be a lot safer than reading a fixed amount, because in this case, I'd get a problem if I read it that fewer items than writing complete at the same time, regardless of the number of items that would be and no matter what the size of the size of the buffer that would be.

    What I understand here?

    Thanks and regards,

    Sebastian

SBach wrote: this VI is a State Machine in queue, the reading part is made in the case of timeout and cases are used as initialization orders, stop and change the outside DAQ hardware.

That I can't tell when these commands will trigger the time between two readings could not be set. If a strictly fixed amount of data could lead to a buffer to fill.

Init command: you certainly don't have a running task.

Stop: You stop the task, then doing here if you get overrun.

Edit tasks: you will probably need to stop the task still before you can edit the task, but let's go back to not caring.

The way I see it, the other commands must stop the task anyway.  If you can leave the timeout do its job and do not do a lot of extra stuff.

    And here are some alternatives:

    1. use a shift register to keep track of how long your wait time should be.  In the case of reading, make the deadline to be whatever it is that you are using.  In all other cases, only the 0 so that a read timeout must be performed immediately (once the queue is empty).

    2. When you do your check to 1.5 times the timeout, if there is too much data, queue a reading at the front of the queue so that playback will happen.  The idea is that you really want to keep the same stack sizes to keep the memory to be allocated.  So just to be read more often.

  • Intermittent visa BFFF0011 with viOpen error

I'm contacting a 2700 Keithey DMM via TCP/IP, and very occasionally, when I call viOpen, it will fail with BFFF0011 error code. Everyone knows that before and if so, what was the cause? I checked the patch ethernet lead and in any case (I think) it happened on another instrument on the system.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might try?

    Thank you

Thanks for the suggestion. I think it would work. My only concern with the maintenance of the open instrument is that if he loses power - I seem to remember that it causes the calling thread to hang, but maybe it's a more manageable problem!

I'll have to give it a go.

    Thanks again for the suggestion.

If the unit loses power VISA (modern versions of NI-VISA) calls will return with an error TMO (device found but not to recognize the session descriptor) or 1 (device not present, "always off") error simple mistakes to manage reconfiguring the device in the first case or incentive at the technology to see why the aircraft fell in offline mode in the second case.

    Original title: installation problem windows

I recently had to reinstall windows for my pc that my HARD drive is dead and when I try to activate it with my old key that I got it comes up with an error message saying its an upgrade key and will not work. Ive phone microsoft and they say, I have to buy a basic disk and then upgrade with the disk that has always worked for me? any suggestions?

License upgrade and the key that's exactly right, used to upgrade a previous version (Vista, XP) for the version shown on the license (7).

In order to use this key, you need to pre-install your o/s original eligible before moving to 7.

Computer memory virtual is increased from 6 to 8 GB and now vm fails to power on with the error massage not enough resources to meet the HA failover, attached screenshot

The message is usually due to the Admission HA and reservations control configuration memory set on one or more virtual machines. With the default configuration HA calculates the sizes of slot based on the memory and CPU. Any reserve on a virtual machine could increase the size of the slot and lead to fewer available seats. What you can do is either to reduce (or eliminate) reservations about the VM (s) or set admission control to a percentage rather than the host failures tolerated.
