Tecra S1 and Windows XP SP2

Who can shine a professional light on my problem

Recovery dvd installed xp on a fresh hard drive.

then looked to install normal programs, nothing complicated, connected to a network with an IP fixed and checked e-mail and internet communication.

So, I'm a very happy user who can work and do what I have to do.

To the message of windos xp sp1 support will be stopped 10/10/2006 you want to upgrade to SP2? Klick here "-message blew my chance!"

I started the SP2 update in line, waited for about 24 hours! nothing happens?

I ordered the OFFICIAL microsoft SP2 upgrade cd, he arrived (jib!) and I was happy as a boy... .i started the update of this official cd.

I waited 48 hours! (just to be safe) and nothing happened, I discovered that everything is going wrong when the update checks the current configuration.

WHAT should I do to get this working?

Please, because I downloaded the files suggested all of toshiba, installed them all, but... .he still does NOT work.

It must be possible, I think I missed it somewere (I'm human, you know)...

nitro2

Hi Nitro2,

Have you updated to Windows for your portable computer from the Microsoft web site? I would suggest thast, the best way to get your system upgraded to SP2 would be to re - set install from the recovery CD, and then run the Windows Update process (once you have set up your connection anti-virus and internet of course). This should ensure that your prior approval of updates required for the SP2 package.

Kind regards

    Hello

I have a Tecra P11 (PTSE3A-00T00K) which has been loaded with Windows XP, but sold with Windows 7. I have recently reinstalled Windows 7, but could not get WiFi to work. I had downloaded the Intel Wireless LAN driver, but the program doesn't seem to recognize WiFi. The network tab is not present in Device Manager, and network controller is in other devices, but with a lock icon.

  • satellite A50 and windows XP SP2

    Hello

I have a question, recently I improve my windows XP Home Edition (Dutch) to SP2. After that everything works perfectly except on something important. TOSHIBA Power Saver. I have installed all updates to recommend internet page. If I switch between the different profiles (FN + F2). I get a blue screen and the prompt to reboot the PC. I can't read what it says.
The other point is that even if I do not change, the laptop works at full power all time.

is this what can I do with this problem?

    Kind regards

    Hello

Hmm... This is strange. I will try to uninstall the Powermanager, and then reinstall it again. Any improvement? If not, right-click right workstation, click on properties (last line), click Advanced, click the settings button in the boot sector and recovery.
Uncheck the box saying "Automatically restart" and then click on OK until your back in the real world.
Next time, you get a blue screen, it will not restart but rather stop with the error message. If she tells you what to know (maybe) be difficult to say and then take it down and post it here (forget memoryadresses and segments, pointers and all that.

  • Tecra A7 and Windows 7 driver (Ati x1600m)

I was wondering if anyone knows the progress with Windows 7 for the Ati x1600m drivers.
I think that this VGA chip is used in many laptops Toshiba, but Windows 7 doesn't have native drivers for it or exists on the Toshiba site.

Unfortunately, your Tecra is not supported for Win7 and Toshiba offers no Win7 drivers for your laptop model.
I tried to find out if the same graphics card is available in some other notebook models and I can tell you that the same ATI card is available on some models of Satellite/Satellite Pro A100.
Unfortunately these models do not rest too.

Boyfriend sorry but I really don't know what to do.

  • Re: Tecra A9 and Windows 7 - error print digital 0xe7210005

    Hello

I installed Windows 7 on my laptop Tecra A9 on a partition with a dual boot (Win XP, Win 7).

Fingerprinting works fine on Windows XP and not under windows 7. I uninstalled the driver of fingerprints and re-installed but nothing changes. The Protector Suite Software (version 5.8.0.4024) return of UPEK a mistake (0xe7210005) said that he found no fingerprints on this computer.

    Someone has an idea?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

    Kind regards

    Alain

Until you have installed the fingerprint software you have installed all drivers as driver chipset, Manager of storage, trusted platform module-module and so on?

  • Tecra M5 and Windows Vista?

We will be able to run windows vista on new Tecra M5?

    Hello

Firstly, Windows vista is not official on the market, and the Toshiba doesn't support any beta version.
In this case you can try to install your beta version, but there is no drivers for this operating system at this time. I read that Microsoft plans to release the Vista operating system in 2007.
Well, you can try to install, but you will get all the drivers.
I will also try to install a Beta version on another laptop, but he needs about 8 GB of HARD drive.

Thus, it comes with W_Vista. Can I just update it W_7 or not? Do I need a driver or something to do the update?

    Very appreciated for any response.

When you receive your laptop, as a first step please installation of recovery discs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
With other words: start preinstalled Vista and DO NOT install Win7 version clean or something because you lose the ability to create recovery discs. These discs you can use in the future if you want to have once again the factory settings.

    Back to your question:
Tecra R10 is fully supported for Win7 and you have two options. You can do Win7 upgrade using the Toshiba upgrade kit, or you can install install Win7 clean and clean using the facilities of Microsoft disc. If you take decision clean OS install all drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com for assistance

To be honest I prefer the new installation of the OS.

  • WebHelp and Windows XP SP2

    Ladies and gentlemen,

Today my desktop support tech told me that it will install Windows XP on my PC next week because the company has so decreed for everyone.

After maybe a year of courses, "Tsk, tsk," read on XP problems in the forum, now I'm rounding up all of the documentation I can find - not to stop XP, because it is futile, but that this system forced thwart me and my readers to WebHelp.

Here's an overview of what I collected sites and messages from members of the forum. If I forgot something, please respond here.

    Thank you.

The Internet Explorer in XP SP2 information bar

A technical note from Miscrosoft, he suggests ways to eliminate some of the problems in these areas:

    Hello hicham

Where is stored your WebHelp? How your users can access?

My reason for asking is because often, the FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) is totally unfounded. XP introduced all these stuff? Sure! But that ONLY happens IF your users each have their personal copy of WebHelp, installed on their PC and are accessed in this way. I'm guessing that this is rarely the case. WebHelp, by its very nature is best served (pun completely intended) to a server. This is normally the way users view. When your users view WebHelp in this way, they should not never met this pesky yellow information bar.

So those are my comments... Rick

I tried the driver provided in the link above (also the uninstall after the driver installation program) useless.

    Hello Joe

In my opinion, you should try to install it. In this case, you need to install all the drivers and Toshiba designed tool later. On this path, it is not easy to say what write you about, but maybe a little tip can help you.

On the Toshiba site, there is link to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=TIC2 knowledge base. Please go there and under Searchtext use the unknown word. Perhaps the first document can help you. He asks how to identify an unknown device in Device Manager?

    Good luck!

  • The starting of Tecra M4 from an original CD of Windows XP SP2...

I have a Windows XP SP2 full product original CD I want to use to reinstall my Tecra M4. When I boot with the CD it displays the original message "Setup inspects the configuration of your" then the screen becomes black and does nothing else. instead of the standard blue screen with the loading of drivers.

Has anyone seen this problem? Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

PS: The CD is fine. I tried in another laptop from another provider and it starts and installs ok.

    Hello Nonak

I've never seen this kind of question, but I heard that standard SP2 cannot be installed on the tablet-PC because of some special characteristics. I'm sure that the installation process may not recognize the tablet pc screen.

In my opinion, you should use recovery DVD for installation of the laptop. It is in fact the professional version of Windows XP Home edition and all utility and specific tools will be installed correctly.

  • Satellite P20 - formatting drive HARD and the installation of Windows XP Sp2

    Hello world

Beforehand, I want to thank you for taking the time to help me with my questions.

Due to system problems I'm trying to re - install Windows XP SP2.

Based on the installation process, I have two questions:

    1. when I start the PC, the operating system Windows XP installation CD in the CD drive, I am unable to run it directly. Instead the old operating system (which I want to remove) starts. Is there a specific key in the Toshiba P20 notebook that runs the CD automatically? I understand that when the Windows XP installation CD to run it gives me the option to format the HARD drive.

    2. If I want to format the HARD disk directly, what is the best way to do this?

Once again, thank you very much for the help

    Best regards

    Q.

    Hello

I assume that you have the original CD of Microsoft Windows XP.
To install a new OS, you must start on this CD.

Insert the CD and after laptop starting immediately press the F12 key.
This will enable the Startup menu, and then you may choose the CD/DVD drive as the boot source.

    As to question 2;
During the installation of XP Setup will ask you the HARD drive formatting. Simply to choose this option and the HARD drive will be formatted.

    Good bye
