Tecra T9100 lock.

I have a T9100 which freezes as soon as he started in Windows. I reformatted the hard drive, but it still freezes. It will freeze about 5 seconds after my office has charged.

I learned that my CMOS battery has gone and needs to be replaced?

A defective battery of the CMOS would cause the laptop to freeze in Windows?

Hello

It is unlikely that your CMOS battery has anything to do with your gel for laptop. The CMOS battery used to maintain the BIOS settings in the CMOS chip when the laptop is turned off. It maintains also the date and time system this is why it is sometimes referred to as the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery.

If your laptop still crashes at the same point, just after that your office is responsible, then I would suspect something in the menu START (or in the start section of your registry database) that is causing the problem. I would say thast, you can start your laptop in safe mode and then check your system logs to see if you can see what to indicate what is happening when the system froze. I also recommend running some programs of spyware (AdAware or Spybot) to check all that may have infected your laptop.

  • Poor performance on Tecra T9100

Hi my Tecra t9100 runs very slow even if theres no activity, Windows Task Manager watching > taskmgr.exe process is active and takes the largest part of the treatment. Performance > historical usage CPU running at about 95 to 100% which gives very little idle system.

    can someone help please...

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say why the performance is so bad. I have a unit in my office with 512 MB of RAM and it works well. I sometimes use it for graphic editing, and there is no problem at all.

Each unit's individual configured and preinstalled. I recommend you to check all running processes. I noticed that many antivir tools are responsible for slow laptop performance. Disable all unnecessary processes and on this way, the CPU will be more power for other applications.

By the way: how much RAM is there?

  • Tecra T9100: To do wireless with WPA

    Hello
I would like to take part in our wireless LAN. But it is necessary to have the WPA or WPA2. You have information, where can I find a driver for my laptop Tecra T9100 wlan?

    Hello

Unfortunately, the new WLan driver will not solve your problem.
The cipher mode is dependent on hardware (card) and not the software (driver)
In this case if you want to connect the unit to the WLan with WPA encryption, you must use a new wireless network or WLan USB stick map

  • Tecra T9100, XP, Stand By does not work

I have a Tecra 9100 with XP pro.
When I click "Turn off computer", I get a pop-up with 3 buttons: Stand By, shut down, restart
The "Stand By" button is gray (disabled)
    So far:
I checked the Control Panel, Power Options
I updated the BIOS from 1.3 to 1.6
According to a post in this forum:
"Try to reinstall the Toshiba Power saver.
I'm not sure if it will help, but this software from Toshiba is responsible for hibernation mode and standby to 100%. »

Then, I installed the 'save energy', but had to first install the "common module.
    Still no result

    Hint please?

    Hi Raymond

The Toshiba power saver is responsible for the standby and hibernation mode.
But if you have installed this software properly, then you must use the FN + F3 key combination to go to stand-by mode. The hibernation mode will be with FN + F4.
I put t know if you installed your OS manually or with the recovery CD, but after installation with the recovery CD Toshiba all options should work correctly.

  • Do need me an adapter for the new HDD in Tecra T9100?

I try to install a new hard drive (Toshiba 456 X3I89209S S/N this.) A, 40 GB). Need me an adapter or a framework for that?
The HARD drive has no adapter, just the usual PATA pins.

Your new HARD drive is a 2.5 or 3.5?
Only 2.5 hard drives will fit in a laptop.

However, you need a HARD drive connector to use the HARD drive in the laptop.
But if you remove the old HDD there is already such a connector. Remove this connector and put it to the new.
That s all and then you can use it.

  • Tecra 9100 will not read burn them

    Hello.

I have a Tecra T9100 and CARPET * DVDROM has now won ' t * burned to CD playback.
He has no problem reading manufacturing CD / DVD.

I noticed this after upgrading the BIOS by version 1.6.

Is there anything else I need to do / configure / install?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maybe you need to check the different CDs from different manufacturers and should change the slower burning at that speed.

If this will not help then a CD/DVD drive problem could be the reason why don't not all disks are readable.

  • Tecra 9000: SD card reader does not work with XP

I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.

I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.

Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?

    David

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hi David

Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.

What you say, it is simply NOT true.

The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!

Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.

I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.

As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.

    Good day

  • Question about drivers for Tecra 9100

My Tecra T9100 do not work with LAN more after the installation of a new HD (old one crashed) and where some Toshiba files on the old HD that I don't know. (Bought the laptop 2. a few years ago by hand) and I lost the CD that belongs to her, and there is no drivers on this site for this 5 year old machine. Maybe a little strange because it's a P4.

In the list of hardware (control panel/system /) there is no problem with the network card. But at the top of the list, there is a yellow "?" for the UNIT of BASIC SYSTEM and there is the missing drivers.

It's very confusing to me because I've never heard of these drivers and I don't know which device is the following. There is also a yellow "?" for PCI modem (but I didn't need) so I guess this unit of base system has to do with the PCI-bus and perhaps also affects the LAN card?

But shouldn't? the drivers will be in the BIOS?
    Can someone help me?

    Hello

You should take a good look here:

    http://209.167.114.38/support/download/ln_byModel.asp

because here, you will find all the drivers for your computer. The Canadian site has almost all of the drivers for older machines, and you should really check out.
I think that "basic unit of system" could be something with ACPI or similar. But lets wait until after you have installed all THE drivers and then give feedback short.
And no, the drivers are generally not in the bios because the bios is just to boot but it s OS independent.

    Greetings

  • Tecra 9100 - unable to connect to the WLan access point

    Hello

I have a Tecra T9100 with miniPCI WLan. I reinstalled XP Pro and all the drivers (downloaded from the Toshiba site) and I've always had a problem with Wifi:

I can see all access point (in the windows control panel), but when I click on connect, I received a message that the access point is no more...
He didn't ask me for the security settings?

    does anyone have an idea?

    Much thanks

    Leclere

    Hello

To my knowledge the Tecra 9100 was equipped with the wireless LAN standard: 802. 11B mini card PCI ORiNOCO.

You need to check if the WiFi signal is strong enough for a transmission correctly
I think that the signal of WLan access points is not strong enough because of the distance.

  • Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c: without capital letters when shift caps lock is enabled

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c with 3.70 BIOS...

I noticed a strange problem with my laptop. Occasionally, when the CAPS LOCK is turned on, I can not write in capital letters when it is off, I can write in capital letters. I couldn't find the thing to replicate.

Is there someone with a similar problem?
    What could be the problem?

    Thank you.

The keyboard should work as follows:

SHIFT CAPS LOCK is enabled-> uppercase
SHIFT CAPS LOCK is on and down SHIFT-> small initial letters
    SHIFT key-> uppercase

If this isn't the case, test the external USB keyboard.
The use of the external USB keyboard can be useful to find out if the internal keyboard is malfunctioning.
