tektonix oscilloscope in MAX

yesterday, I got a 2024b operating under labview tektornix oscilloscope.

Yet, today I can not get the oscilloscope to appear in MAX or labview.

I can see the oscilloscope as a usb device in the windows Device Manager

Yet, it is not a usb device to visa.

Ive tried, rebooting the computer, restarting the oscilloscope and change the usb ports on the computer.

Ive tried to reinstall what I did yesterday with no luck.

Include the downlaods

drivers

and also the edition of tetronix signalexpress.

I can plug the noculars on another computer and it works with the generic tektronix software.

What happens here?

any hits on what to try next?

I'm trying to reinstall tekvisa

I get part way through and its application

' replace the visa national instruments with tekvisa?

It's has to be, I have to restart to discover...

I am trying to make measurements of waveform of an oscilloscope Tektronix 1052 B using LabVIEW. My program is intended to be run for hours at a time, and it works perfectly as expected for the first few hours. However, I noticed that after a few hours, there are apparently random of chances that a VISA to read or write the block function will produce the error - 1073807339. After that happens once, all read or write functions also produce this same error for a while. This happens even using subVIs new driver provided by OR (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=047216EC20B66FABE0440003BA7CCD... Meanwhile if I stop the program, I can still bring up the oscilloscope in MAX and read and write commands him. The error seems to occur within a VI. I already read this page here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/874B379E24C0A0D686256FCF007A6EA0?OpenDocument, but none of the solutions helped. I know that this is not a matter of actual timeout because I tried increasing the timeout of 30 seconds, but the error always occurs immediately as soon as the function of reading or writing block is called.

I would like to know why this is happening and what can be done to remedy this. The Subvi in question is provided. This VI is called at various points in the program do acquire a waveform. The inititialize and narrow subVIs are called outside the Subvi.

  • LeCroy 6050A and PXEe 8108 RT

    Hello

I have a LeCroy Waverunner 6050 A oscilloscope and I want to use it as a data acquisition equipment.

I want to use an SMU-8108 with a RT operating system to access the LeCroy oscilloscope with VISAS through a local network.

I can see the oscilloscope in MAX [3] and I can communicate using resources of e/s: 'VICP::169.254.103.3' in '169.254.103.1' work stations, but not the controller OR-PXIe8108 "169.254.103.2". [1]

The works of vi [2] simple when it is running on the workstation, but not OR-PXIe8108.

    It returns the error:

1073807343 error occurred while opening VISA in LeCroy_hello.vi

    Possible reasons:

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system.

I checked that the LeCroy can ping my computer and PXIe8108.

In MAX, I can add the oscilloscope under "My System" and "NO-PXIe8108".

    The PXIe8108 use it:

System operating OR Real - Time PharLap 13.1

    Firmware revision: 13.1

The LeCroy is configured to use the TCIP (ACIP) for remote connections

and its firmware version is 6.5.0.5.

Do I need to install some software (such as the Teledyne LeCroy ACIP Passpor) on the PXIe8108 and if so how?

    Thank you and Bravo,

    John.

    Hi John,.

I have not worked with RT stuff in a while, so I don't know how to install it.  Do not port of $$ ACIP Pa well.  The alternative is to use the LXI(VXI-11) interface on the scope type.

With this interface, you can use a right TCPIP VISA resource.  i.e. TCPIP0::169.254.103.3::inst0:INSTR

This interface is slower than the ACIP interface during the transfer of large data sets.

We'll find the ACIP Pa$ $port is just a dll (two DLLs on my 64 bit OS, but the 64-bit version is 64-bit LabVIEW) who is on the PC at: C:\VXIPnp\WinNT\bin

    See you soon,.

  • MAX does not allow me to rename the tektronix oscilloscope

Hi, I'm trying to set up my TDS 2014 C Tektronix oscilloscope, but I have a few questions:

    (1) I can't rename the Max machine (I have installed TekVisa).  Here is what I get (see the file attached jpg).  So, what happens here?

    (2) my scope is connected via USB and MAX sees, but all examples are for serial communication and I see no VI to the USB, but when you download the instrument driver, it said USB-compatible.  What should I do to get the examples running for USB?

    Thanks in advance...

First of all, there is no reason Tek-visa application must be installed. You just need to NI-VISA, especially if you plan on using LabVIEW, secondly, how weak is slow? Seconds, minutes? What command do you send to MAX? Third, your scope is a USBTMC device and is listed as such. There is no specific to USB example since one is not necessary. The same code works for the GPIB, series, or USB. Ignore you the control of parameters series.

  • Complete equipment of simulation using LabView, Multisim, and MAX (easy answer accepted!)

    Hello, all!

Sorry, I'm new, but I checked around for a definitive answer on this, but I'm not 100% sure.  I learn LabView for a physics of upper-division course.  We use hardware (DAQ - MX) and a mixture of laboratory equipment - mainly stuff such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and test setup with simple components.  I also work with NIM instrumentation, but that's secondary to my needs here.  So, when I'm away from the school, is it possible to make a complete simulation of my classroom work using LabView, Multisim (for my model) and the measurement and Automation Explorer (for the acquisition of data-MX)?  I know I can create a circuit and drop it in Labview, but I'm not sure on the acquisition of data.  I hope for what is a "seamless" reconstruction of what I do in class.  I can't take a simple 'yes' or ""; as long as I know it's possible, I can find the solution.

    Thanks for the help!

I wrote 'sim' screws in many situations where I need to work away from the hardware store.  I think that MAX has a few features, but you may be limited in the types of signals, you can simulate.

For my sim screw, I make a copy of the original VI with ".sim" added file name.  I also change the icon in a characteristic way to identify the version of the sim card on the BD. In this way the two VI have the same connector pane and are interchangeable on the BD structure. disable the diagram can be your friend here. Inside of the VI of sim, I generate the signal in any form I want.  You can also add additional if necessary controls.

  • oscilloscope to Agilent 3000 series - no communication

    Hello!

Recently, we bought an Agilent MSOX - 3014 (2000-3000 series) A oscilloscope.

PROBLEM: Does not WORK with LabVIEW.

DESCRIPTION: The scope has been connected via USB to a PC computer and has been successfully detected by the system and LabVIEW and installed in the system. OR MAX says that the device is connected and working properly but it doesn't.
After you run a sample VI (acquire waveform) comes with plug-ins (project style) driver, the scope is set back to the factory setting and after a while, the connection is cut and there is no effect (no waveform on the screen). After this very simple procedure, the scope is not responsible for the material side (no response to buttons, etc.). The complete communication history was captured with NI IO-TRACE and I attach the saved file.

    Tested system configurations

(tested on two different computers with the same result)

    LabVIEW 2010 32-bit
    LabVIEW 2011 32 and 64 bit

    VISA - most recent

I'm looking forward for your help

  • Lost the remote TCP/IP connection through NOR-MAX

"" Hi, I try remotely LeCroy WaveRunner 104Xi oscilloscope through "resources VISA TCP/IP" option in Control Panel OR MAX, but the VISA session is lost (0xBFFF00A6) right after I viWrite the '* IDN?" order several times.

    Here's my full configuration process:
    1. install the Passport VISA LeCroyVICPPassportInstaller_1.0.8.exe , LeCroy oscilloscope

    2. setting of the session to follow the instructions (as per joint, LAB_WM827.pdf)

[by the way, I'm not able to configure the session as "VCIP:'type', I only be able to configure the session asTCPIP0:: 1861:OCKET" ""]

        TCP/IP resources VISA-> Create TCP/IP new resource...-> Raw Socket

Set the IP address: 137.57.96.8 (this IP address is successful to be ping by PC and this address is of course belong to the 104Xi WaveRunner oscilloscope)
    Set the port number: 1861

    3. then, there will be a new resource under "resources VISA TCP/IP". Select this option and 'VISA Open Session'. A dialog box will be retractable to the communication of the instrument.

    4. go to the tab "viSetAttribute", the value VI_ATTR_TCP_KEEPALIVE to VI_TRUE, VI_ATTR_TMO_VALUE the value of 15000.

    * NOR-MAX Version: 3.1.1.3004
    * Connection: The ethernet cable is used through the server (No 1 to 1 connection) of the company,

"After all this, I send '* IDN? \n"(dans l'onglet viWrite ), it returns the value 0 (which means no error occur) and return 6 counts. " So I try to read a buffer (in the viRead tab), but it send me error timeout (VI_ERROR_TMO). After that, I erase the buffer in viClear. Then, I repeat same steps, this time he (viRead) return me connection lost error (VI_ERROR_CONN_LOST).

This situation is repeated every time that I reopen it new session. In the meantime, I also doubt that the viWrite did send the command to the oscilloscope or not. The oscilloscope was no response after that I have send "ASET" (WaveRunner 104Xi order for autosetup oscilloscope) through the viWrite tab.

I am out of ideas now.

What's my configuration OR-MAX problem? or hardware problem? or a server problem?

    Please advice... need help badly.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi wcsoh,

    Alan and LeCroy Support here...

Use the type of connection (LXI).  The problem is that when you use the connection TCP/IP (ACIP) type, you cannot configure the WaveRunner 104MXi as a resource of VISA's TCP/IP in MAX.   Note that MAX is not 'hip' to recognize any instrument type TCPIP, including extended via ACIP LeCroy.  To use LXI, go to utilities > utility configuration... and then to the 'Remote' tab, where you will find the button on the left side of the screen of config to use 'LXI '.  If you don't see this button, you will probably need to update your firmware.

With the type of connection (LXI), you can automatically find the scope through MAX, enter this amount as a VISA TCP/IP resource and configure an alias as well...  You can also point your web browser to the IP address of the bezel, and you will see a status page with information, including the name VISA always useful resource to use when you configure the scope in MAX.  (Note, however, there is no need to use MAX at all when the connections of VISA to LeCroy oscillloscopes!)

Here is a link to an application note written by me which deals with the LXI interface, including information about the configuration of MAX to show scope: http://www.lecroy.com/tm/library/AppNotes/LXI/LXI_Interfacing_AppNote.pdf

Do not hesitate to contact me for any question!

  • Neither myDAQ oscilloscope bandwitdth

Hi guys I m plans buy the nor myDAQ, but I have a few questions on the function i´m oscilloscope control specifications, but I anithing find can´t on its bandwitdth, thank you

Yes I m new to this forum

    Hi Rivera25081:

I think that what you need is the MyDAQ sampling frequency in order to know if you can measure the 3 MHz sine wave. The Oscilloscope max sampling rate is 200 kHz that means by the Nyquist theorem you can detect the frequency of a sine wave of 100 kHz. If you want a more accurate representation of a sine wave signal should be approximately 10 kHz. The signal you want to measure has a hi frequency (Radio frequency), it is necessary a faster and more robust equipment to measure this type of signals.

  • Acquiring signals Oscilloscope Agilent 54642D AND settings

    Hello

I would like to use LabVIEW to capture the signals already displayed on the screen of my Agilent Oscilloscope (model 54642D). With this waveform, I would get the current settings of the oscilloscope channel as well (volts/div, time/div, probe attention., delay, offset, sliders with freq/period, etc.). In other words, I acquire a signal with the scope (not), adjust the parameters of scope for my taste on the front panel of the oscilloscope, and then I would like to capture the exact waveform displayed on the scope WITH the oscilloscope settings.

I have been using the project-style driver, found here: http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=724

It works to control the settings of the oscilloscope and acquire a waveform, but this isn't what I want. I just want to LabVIEW to capture the current state of the oscilloscope screen and the parameters used.

    Thank you very much

    Brad

Nothing will be mentioned in a textbook on LabVIEW or VISA. What is mentioned is orders SCPI to send to the device for a parameter. You have linked to the operating manual. There is probably a separate programming manual. This is the one you need. Most would be to use a VISA entry to send the request (IE CHAN1:COUP? for mating) and then a VISA read to get the value. You should always write first the instrument in order to tell what data it should return. There is a function to initialize the driver you have. Look at the block diagram, and you will see an entry VISA with a * IDN? written order and a VISA Read then returns the identification. You will make the same basic with commands written procedure.

In MAX, you have an option of VISA interactive command where you can make a request, a reading or writing. A query combines a writing and reading. This is what you will do if you can do all your tests in MAX. When you have the correct query command, you can copy it in LabVIEW.

  • MAX how to acquire data only on hardware triggers?

    Hey,.

I need to use the card pci-6224 daq material being triggered. Here's what I did: -.

    (1) I put these settings in the configuration affecting changed my acquisition mode 1 sample (timed HW) and set the rate at KHz

    (2) the digital edge trigger type, my pfi pin and the whole edge to edge down

and here is what it does Max awaits the first impulse before data acquisition and after the first impulse, he always keeps the information even in the absence of triggers. I used an oscilloscope to see if I was generating pulses in my pfi of entry but there is no generated impulses.

So I was wondering if someone could tell me a few reasons as to why MAX keeps getting data after the initial outbreak?

    Thank you

    MUGA,

To make an acquisition redeclenchables, we need to set a property that we do not have access to directly to MAX (redeclenchables true parameter). However, based on what you have explained, it's pretty simple applications you meet. The best way to proceed is to simply use your trigger as an external sample clock signal. Using this trigger as the sample clock signal, you will take only sampling points on the edges of this signal trigger regardless of the trigger parameters.  So, I simply specify this signal as your external sample clock and go from there.

  • How can I configure the GPIB Tektronix tds2024 he is detected by MAX

I try to connect the Oscilloscope Tektronix of TDS2024 to use in LabView. I use the GPIB port. I have to do something with the TDS2024? Or it should automatically detect it. I tried 2 different cables and are detected by the LabView "Measure & Automation Explorer" when connected.

    Hello

All you have to do is plug your instrument, MAX throw if you have not already done so and scan for instruments.

You should see the instrument listed under the GPIB device.

  • frequency max USB-6251

I use a box NI USB-6251 and frequency max I can carry out to an0 an1 is 8 kHz using the following parameters. Is there a way to reach a frequency higher on the analog output ports?

    Config:

    Capture of the oscilloscope:

I've reconfigured the config to try and hit 10 kHz and captured the following response.

    config:

Oscilloscope Capture: (before port analog flat doubled)

The signal is emitted for 7ms then faints.

Any ideas how to set up the analog interface for a sine wave of 100 kHz to the stable address? I could only create a stable 8 kHz wave.

To use higher frequencies, you'll need to use LabVIEW or custom code. I used the example of "ContGen - IntClk.c" located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI - DAQ\Examples\DAQmx C\Analog Out\Generate Voltage\Cont Gen Volt Wfm - Int Clk ANSI" and changed the two lines of code to achieve higher frequencies.

    2 changed lines:

My Mac is essentially useless because kernel_task is eating all my CPU and to prevent another asks to enter the CPU.

I have since audited equipment - everything was fine, reset the NVRAM and I tried to erase IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext .plist files but I couldn't on my Mac (trying to follow this guide, started in Safe Mode and everything then went to try and find the file and my Mac just does not have it). When my external screen is plugged if I'm doing anything CPU intensive (videophone, opening of Chrome, etc.) then my kernel_task gets mad again, and the only way to move is to unplug my screen. • Time series: finding max and min for each month

Hello world. I'm working on a datasheet that has collected the data points for all day for the past 15 years.

A column stores the date and column B contains a numeric value.

I want to do the following:

Create a new table (call it table #2) that:

    (1) is now a time series on a monthly basis (column A contains "year month"). This is why the table contains a header and 15 * 12 = 60 rows of data

    (2) B Col contains the Max value of this month.

    (3) C Col contains the value this month min

Table #2 should be calculated automatically because I need to find these values for several series. Any ideas?

Here is a way that I came up with

In the table above, your original data is in columns B and C.

    I've added three additional columns (A, D and E):

    D2 = Year (B2) & NUMTOBASE (MONTH (B2), 10, 2)

It's shorthand dethrone select D2, and type (or copy and paste it here) the formula:

    = Year (B2) & NUMTOBASE (MONTH (B2), 10, 2)

    E2 = IF (D1≠D2, 0, E1 + 1).

Select copy of D2 to E2,

Select cells D2 at the end of column E, block

    A2 = D2 & NUMTOBASE (E2, 10, 2)

    Select A2, copy

Select A2 at the end of the A2 column, paste

now create a second table summary as shown:

    For 'Summary Table 2016:

the first four lines are the lines of header

    There are 35 total lines

Enter the year in cell B1

    A5 = −4 LINE)

    B5 = SIERREUR (VLOOKUP ($B$ 1 & NUMTOBASE(B$4,10,2) & NUMTOBASE($A5,10,2), data: $A:$ C, 3, 0), "")

    Select cell B5, copy

Select cells B5 at the end of row 5, dough

    Select A5 thru M5, copy

Select cell A5 at the end of the M column, paste

    B2 = MIN (B)

    B3 = MAX (B)

Select the cells B2 to B2, copy

Select the cells B2 through M3, dough

now duplicate the table and change the year to 2015 for the next year.

You can duplicate this table as necessary to summarize a year

  • power max

    Hello

No one knows what is the max power by:

    1. a core of mac pro 8 (early 2008) when working at full capacity? That is to say all 4 disks + gf 8000 gt graphics card

    2. Ditto for iMac 21.5 inch clocked at 1.6 Ghz dual core i5, intel graphics hd 6000

3 and 2.8 Ghz quad core intel i5, iris intel graphics pro 6200

I need to buy a UPS and need to have this info. Surprisingly enough support tech didn't have this info.

    Thank you

A standard from the factory Mac Pro (or other model) would have a use power max figure that could be given, but as soon as the user make a change for example, adding a hard drive additional or larger, this figure will change.

It doesn't help much, but here's the official specs for your model of Mac Pro

    Electrical and environmental requirements

    • ENERGY STAR configurations suffisantes6
    • Voltage: 100-120 v AC or 200-240 VAC (input voltage range)
    • Frequency: 50 Hz to 60 Hz single-phase
    • Current: Maximum of 12A (range low voltage) or 6a (range high voltage)

For what its worth that classic Mac Pro models have a 980 watt power meaning that is the absolute maximum, he can deliver if fully loaded.

If you want specific numbers depending on your configuration and use then the best option is to get a socket which allows to measure actual usage. Some examples of such devices.
