The bosses like ORA - looking in the SQL log files

Version: 11.2.0.3

In our database of Prod, I do about 15 SQL files provided by the team of apps.

After the implementation, the apps team asked if I had errors. Because I had no time to browse each log file, I just did a grep for the model
 ORA-
in the execution log files.

$ grep ORA- *.log
<nothing returned> , which means no ORA- errors).
Later, it was discovered that several triggers are in INVALID state and errors of compilation during execution of the script. She got the rebound. When I checked the logs carefully, I could see errors like below in the log file
SQL > CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER CLS_NTFY_APT_TRG
  2  AFTER INSERT ON CLS_NTFY
  3  FOR EACH ROW
  4  DECLARE message VARCHAR2(100);
  5  BEGIN
  6    IF (:new.jstat=1) THEN
  7        message:='JOB '||:new.mcode||'/'||:new.ajbnr||'/'||:new.jobnr||' inserted';
  8        DBMS_ALERT.SIGNAL('FORKMAN',message);
  9       END IF;
 10  END;
 11  /

Warning: Trigger created with compilation errors.
The apps team is annoyed with me because they raise another CR to get these compiled triggers.

Question1.
What are the patterns of errors usually you grep after running SQL files? Today, I learned that I should be looking for the ' alert' string in the log files. So, I added the following diagrams to grep in the future.
ORA-
Warning
If you guys are looking for any other patters error, let me know.

Question2.
No idea why I don't have an ORA-error for the above Trigger compilation error?

Kavanagh wrote:

Because it is the way in which SQL * more reports that an error has occurred... This isn't a real message of the database itself. If you need to see the error you need to do:

SHO ERR

thereafter to show the error actually happened.

  • bottleneck during the passage of the redo log files.

    Hi all

    I'm using Oracle 11.2.0.3.

    The enforcement team has indicated that they are facing slow at some point.

    I followed the database and I found that at some passage of redo log files (not always), I am facing a slow at the application level.

    I have 2 son since my database is CARS, each thread has 3 groups of multiplexed redo logs the FIU, with size of 300 MB each.

    Is it possible to optimize the switch of the redo log files? knowing that my database is running in ARCHIVELOG mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    Yes, Oracle recommends 1 validation by 30 calls from users or less. Of course, every database is different, so this rule cannot be taken too literally, but in your case, this rule seems to apply. In any case State, 900 undertakes seconds it looks like a very large number and the need for a high number of transactions should be questioned. You should talk to your analysts/application management/enterprise architect if warranted - that is to say if the application does in fact almost 2 000 business transactions per second.

    What about DB CPU: here is a link to a blog that I wrote on this subject, it should help to better understand this number:

    http://Savvinov.com/2012/04/06/AWR-reports-interpreting-CPU-usage/

    But briefly: DB processor isn't a real event, it is simply an indication that the sessions are on CPU (or waiting for CPU) rather than wait on i/o requests or events in the database. It is not necessarily a bad thing, because the database must perform tasks and he cannot do without loading the CPU. It may indicate a problem in two cases: when the CPU usage is close to the limit of the host (OS stats section indicates that you are very far from there) or when the CPU is a % of DB time - in the latter case, this could mean that you are making too many logical reads due to inefficient plans or analysis too. In any case, this does not apply to you, because 20 percent is not very high a number.

    Other items in the list of the top 5 deserve attention, too - gc buffer busy acquire, gc current block busy, enq: TX - line lock conflict.

    To summarize, your database under a lot of stress - whether it is the legitimate workload, and if this is the case, you may need to upgrade your hardware later. There is chance that it isn't - for example a high number of runs may indicate that rather than to bulk operations database code using PL/SQL loops, which is a big performance killer. Check "Top SQL by executions" about whether or not this is the case.

    Good luck!

    Best regards

    You are basically correct.  GuestCPUID represents the bits of functionality exposed to the virtual machine.  In addition to your mask, there are masks applied depending on the features supported by the virtual hardware.

    UserCPUID, this is what will be visible to code ringtone-3 comments running in native mode if you use the binary translation.  With binary translation, usually only ring-0 code (or IOPL-3) is subject to the binary translation.  Most ring-3 of the code is running in native mode (in the mode that we call "direct execution.")  Before the introduction of CPUID failing, it was impossible to intercept comments the CPUID instruction execution when the guest was performed in direct execution.  Some processors support a limited ability to derogate some CPUID leaves (on a basis of registry by registry) even without intercept the CPUID instruction.  Therefore, userCPUID is based on hostCPUID, but records that can be replaced have values of guestCPUID.

    These fields are rewritten in every market, so there is little interest to change them manually.

  • The clause in the database log file duplicate

    I tried to duplicate a database (Oracle RAC 10 g ASM 2 node Windows 2003 Server R2) and in the document of the oracle, it went something like:

    DUPLICATE the TARGET DATABASE to dupdb
    PFILE = /dup/oracle/dbs/initDUPDB.ora
    LOGFILE
    ' / dup/oracle/oradata/trgt/redo01.log' SIZE 200 K,.
    ' / dup/oracle/oradata/trgt/redo02.log' SIZE 200 K,.
    ' / dup/oracle/oradata/trgt/redo03.log' SIZE 200 K;

    I thought as the source database RMAN backup already contained the definitions of redo log. Are only these redo log files used for the process during replication of the database? Is the logfile clause is required to use the command DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE?

    Thank you much in advance.

    LOG file can be used to specify where the newspapers of recovery for the duplicate database should be placed. This clause is not mandatory and it is really necessary only if you intend to rename the redo log files. If you don't need/want to rename the files, you can use the NOFILENAMECHECK option.

  • I have can´t of the cbs.log file

    Hello world

    It seems that never ends, now it s the file cbs.log that says access denied.

    OK, after you have installed successfully (and finally) sp1 of vista, I ran once more the chkdsk and sfc/verifyonly to verify if everything was ok, as if it was before I ve installed sp1, which was: no no violation of the integrity of the errors found, files damaged, everything seemed just fine for me, but now After installing sp1, the sfc/verifyonly said that Windows found violations of integrity resources Protection and the details are in the cbs.log file, which I was able to access so far, but now, when I try to open it, it says "access denied" - what happened between that made the system go like that and can it be resolved?

    Anyway, desperate, I tried a sfc/scanow in the hope that it would solve this problem, this 'thing', well actually he pointed out that the Protection of Windows resources found and managed to repair damaged files and details could be found at c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log, but as I said before when I try to open this file it says access denied.

    So I rebooted my pc and hope that everything would be ok, given that the sfc/scannow said that the files when repaired, so I thought. Unfortunately, that s not the way it is, after the reboot, I ran sfc/verifyonly, just to confirm that everything was actually ok, well it still signals once Windows Resource Protection found violations of integrity and the details can be found in the cbs.log file.

    Right now my computer seems to work very well, besides that of course, the problem is I m feling completely lost here with this 'thing', it just doesn't feel good and probably it's just me, maybe I m too picky about this stuff, everything must be running ok so I can be at rest with myself, please can someone help me with this , can someone explain me what is happenning, so I can understand it?

    I think that worst of all, at least for me, is not to know what is happening, it s as I have, I would even say obcessive, need to understand not only the solution but most of all the cause of it, the mechanism of it s, I need to understand the process, don't´t you all?

    Pleeaase helps.

    Well be Pedro Borba

    Pedro Borba,
    You must copy the CBS and paste it on your desktop or Documents folder.  Then, open the copied version of the file.  Here is an article which also gives instructions on reading and research the CBS log file.

  • Location of the FRReportSRV.log file?

    Hello

    We are eager to see a newspaper when our users run reports.  This journal should have the time, report and username.  I heard that the FRReportSRV.log file would be very useful, but I can't seem to find it.  As far as I know, there is no BI or BIplus folder anywhere on our servers.  We have only the Financial Reporting and other BI applications.  This could be a problem of version?  We are version 11.1.2.2.300.  We had this in our old environment file, 11.1.1, but I can't seem to find in our new environment.  Is there a different newspaper, that I should be looking?  Really any help on this would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Jeff C.

    Hi Jeff,

    Yes, there is change in the directory structure in 11.1.2.x.  You should find EN newspapers under user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\FinancialReporting0\logs.

    FRLogging.log is the journal name, you should seek instead of FRReportSRV.log.

    Here are the details on EMP 11.1.2.2 newspapers: Installation and Configuration Guide Release 11.1.2.2 Troubleshooting

    In addition, you can activate "Follow user" the workspace to track the activities of FR.

    Dear users of the Forum:

    Please, I need to know where log file sites.log. I know that this file is located in the folder logs. But I don't know which is the full path. I work with a server that contains a heart plattform.

    Thanks in advance and sorry for my English (this language is not my native language).

    Basically, the path is selectable at the time of installation.  The parent folder you are looking for is the "home of Sites folder.

    The sites.log file is located in the /logs folder.  The folder is the folder corresponding to the "inipath" context parameter in the web.xml file.  It is usually located in the home folder of the user running your instance of Sites.

    You can delete these files without any problems. Just make sure you stop the services of the application first, remove files, then start the application services.

  • Open the Script logs files checking

    I used OpenScript Siebel Accelerator - load test module.
    Originally, when I record, the Siebel login page must be entered (before work)

    However, sometimes when I click on save, the IE prompt but the Siebel login page cannot be loaded (blank page)

    Can I know how can I find the relevant log files to trace it?

    Thank you!

    I've already faced such a question in before IE, I mean even outside its OpenScript use.
    Sometimes it's like I can't click on any favorite link. Does not even enter the url in the address bar.
    When I can, I just use FF. Of course, in your case, not at all, because it is Siebel, but maybe you could just try to use FF (at least for the logon page) to check my asumption.
