  • iMac G3 Tiger Installation "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

    Hello

I try to install Mac OS X Tiger on my iMac G3 slot loading 400mH. The system is compatible all I checked before installing. I was able to start on the first disc very well. It is installed properly, until he asked for disc 2. When I put in the disc, it turns a little, and then do absolutely nothing. It just sits there even ask for the disc. After having let it run all night, I decided that the only option was to hold the power button. When I turned the machine back on, it gave me the error "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer. He then ejected the disc.

    What are my options?

One thing I forgot to mention, is that I have created these disks under windows with a program called TransMac. It was the first program that I found which could create for Mac bootable discs. The fact that he created the first a perfectly fine leads me to believe that it is not my Windows and Mac computer. I could be completely wrong, and if so what is a better program. I am not of any other Mac other than the G3.

    Thanks in advance!

Historically, the Mac have trouble starting from system disks burned. As you say, the first one worked, so you might be on the right track. Have you tried to make a new second drive from the same program? Maybe there is a media problem or an engraving error.

The other problem could be the source of installation of Tiger. Apple has distributed never freely as each copy that you find on the internet - free or paid - are pirated and may even be compromised. It happened more than you think. There are a lot of reports of people for an OSX version here as an internet download and even pay for it, only to find that it works at all. I've seen downloads Mac OS offered for sale even on sites like eBay (I point out them).

So this begs the following question - where did you Tiger?

If we get that worked, we ned to continue what I have some experiences with Panther and Tiger on the iMac of the same model which can be useful

  • HP Laserjet P1102 by USB "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

My HP Laserjet P1102 used to work properly with OS X10.10. Then he started to say (now I'm on osx 10.11.4) "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer" whenever I have the lit, but the printer still work. What should I do?

I tried with this solution HP Laserjet P1102w by USB "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer ' Ec Capitan osx's option"repair disk permissions ".

I can't say if it will work, and it may even be harmful, possibly to the point of making your mac unbootable, so be careful - all the least have a clone of your system disk. If you start using the internet (Command-Option-R) recovery mode, and if your mac is a model that existed prior to El Capitan, it could be that the disk utility you get in this collection is the old version, including the order of repair permissions.

  • My MacBook Pro shows "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer.

After taking my external hard drive WD 2 TB to my best friend for a few days and connecting via USB to its player Samsung Dvd/multimedia, I now have the message above after plugging back on my MacBook Pro. I tried so many difficulties, I found online, but nothing has worked. I even tried to type the command Terminal fix "diskutil repairDisk/dev/disk" and received the message "error repair card: MediaKit reports the wrong partition or no map found (-5324).

I've seen suggestions of using Disk Warrior, but that seems a little hit and Miss wise success and I can't really afford. This HD were thousands of files on it and was also my Time Machine backup disk. I really want to erase and reformat, but I don't know what else to do! Can anyone help? My MacBook is a model 13 "of 2012 and the HD is a year older. Never had any problem with before this. I realize I should never be plugged on the Samsung device now.

I eventually found a solution myself. In the case where it happens to someone else, use a program like EaseUS evaluation edition to see if your files are still there and CAN be recovered. After much research, it was clear that the question was a mapping problem caused by plugging the hard drive in the unit of Samsung Media and my MacBook could read is no longer. I ended up using Disk Warrior and it was set to 100% less than an hour. No need to format or restore data to another drive.

Lesson learned - if you use it on your Mac, connect on something else!

  • P1102w printer is not "readable by this computer.

    Hello

I used my laserjet P1102w printer with my macbook pro for about two years, using a USB connection.

I've never had real problems with the printer and it was working fine with my macbook last Thursday night. I tried to print something on Sunday night but when I plug the printer by USB my computer flashes just a window that says "the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." He refuses to print all documents and does not appear on the computer at all. I tried to reset all settings for printing on the laptop, but the printer does not always appear. I use Mac OS 10.9.5. I had not brought no changes to software over the weekend I would have thought this would cause.

I am a student and really need my printer working again as soon as possible. Can someone help me with this problem? I can't think what else to do.

    Thank you, Stephen.

    Hi @SJRamsay11,.

I see by your post when you connect the USB cable to the Mac you get the message "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer. I can help you with this.

Something on the Mac is to recognize the printer such as a hard drive. Because the printer has a feature called Smart Install, which installs only the printing automatically on Windows software.

Try unplugging everything, make a full stop down on the printer, restart the Mac, and then connect the USB to a Mac, while the printer is still off, then start the printer.

You have Parallels installed on the Mac?

Temporarily disable Parallels, for the Smart Install is recognized on the Mac.

If you do not have Parallels, then we will need to turn off Smart Install to install the printer on the Mac.

There are two ways that we can disable it.

Print a configuration page. Printing a Configuration Page.
    Select the method two.

If the printer has a IPV4 address or the Direct wireless is under tension and indicating an IP address, you can access: the printer Web server integrated and disable the Smart Install from there.

If you have a valid IP address, type the IP address in the Safari browser to bring up the printer built-in Web server and you can disable the Smart installed on the printer.

If it does not, you will need to disable the Smart Install the printer on a Windows computer.

On the Windows computer, go to start, computer, right click the printer CD
and left click Open in a new window, go to Smart Install utility util/siutility.exe/HP.
printer or PC - printer select / click on disable.

Let me know how make you out.

    Good day!
    Thank you.

  • Could not load the LR 6 on my laptop - I get "update serial number: serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer."  I downloaded, from the Adobe Web site and given the serial number when I bought L

I'll put up a new Macbook Pro the retina, bought this week, and try to install the copy of LR 6 I bought in September 2015.  It is currently loaded on my old Macbook Pro.  I understand that my license allows me to install this on two machines;  This is particularly important now that I move from an old machine to a new one.

I downloaded the complete file of the LR6, but when I try to install, I get "update serial number: serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer."

I gave the serial number under my account on the Adobe website and delivered when I bought LR 6 September 2015.

It is said to "Select a product", but only gives me options of Lightroom 1-5, not 6.  My new LR 6 license is useless just 6 months after purchase?

I opted to buy 6 LR on perpetual license rather than a subscription monthly CC, as my country's currency is devaluing rapidly and I need to be able to afford access.  But now Adobe does not seem to recognize the validity of the copy that I own.  In fact, it is difficult to find a reference to LR 6 on the Adobe web site.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

It shows the message you have purchased an upgrade license, and it asks you to select the older version that you upgraded and provide older version serial number as proof that you are eligible to use the upgrade.

    Hi Carl,

It seems that you have installed Acrobat XI pro as an upgrade and an upgrade you will need a serial number for a product older Acrobat X, etc. 9:

See, error: "this serial number is not for a product calling it" | Adobe Creative Suite

Also, I checked with your Adobe ID on the forums and I can only locate XI of Acrobat pro upgrade recorded, please check if you have registered an earlier version of Acrobat on some another email to get this serial number.

Let us know if that helps.

    Kind regards

  • I get the message "serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer" when I try and install Acrobat Standard XI

I have a PC with windows 7 installed.  Reader Acrobat X and XI of Acrobat Pro trial version will work perfectly.  I bought Acrobat Standard XI, and there is a serial number in my account.  Acrobat Standard XI installs fine, but I get the error message after you put my serial number in, 'serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer

The message indicates that you have purchased a version upgrade of applications and it asks you to identify the previous version of this application you are upgrading, and then provide serial number.

If you had no intention to buy a version upgrade then you will probably cancel that and buy it at the price high.

  • Serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer

I try to install LR6.  I have a valid serial number, but during the install process, I get the following: serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer.

Duh! It's because I'm trying to install it on this computer!  How should I proceed from here?  I have a HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 10.  I LR6 installed on my other computer, which is a desktop HP Pavilion on Windows 7, and now I want to install it on my Lap Top.  Can someone explain what is happening here and how to fix?

you will need serial number of your previous version.  There is no work around.

There may be ways to recover serial number depending on whether lr5 is currently installed on a computer (old) or you bought lr5 where saved from adobe.
