The Inspiron 620 Spec issues

Had some questions about my Inspiron 620.

Brand and model of the Mobo?

Level watt PUS?

Can I replace the motherboard with a 3rd party, in the same turn?

Recommendations to replace the power supply, RAM, processor and video?

I have the 2320 i5, 8 GB of Ram and AMD 6450.

Brand and model of the Mobo?

Inspiron 620 owner Dell Board.

Level watt PUS?

300W

Can I replace the motherboard with a 3rd party, in the same turn?

The Council is a standard size but the front panel wiring is owner.  You will need to do a bit on the rewiring of fly or to replace the case.  Also note that stock heatsink from Dell that it does not fit in a spare parts advice - you will need a new if you change the jury.

Another advantage: If you are replacing the card, you have more a Dell system, which means not activate Windows.   Budget for a copy in the Windows retail if you change the motherboard - you effectively build a new system.  Microsoft won't activate copies of Windows OEM on the boards of spare parts.

Recommendations to replace the power supply, RAM, processor and video?

I have the 2320 i5, 8 GB of Ram and AMD 6450.

Essentially, you can build a whole new system - if you take this route, reuse, keyboard, mouse, monitor and drives – everything (case, power supply, heater, fans and everything you want to update - is replaced).

  • Questions about upgrading the video card in the Inspiron 620

Hey guys... I want to add a discrete graphics card to my new Dell Inspiron 620.  My power supply is rated at 300w.  Are there maps decent graphics that I could use that would be compatible with the 300w PSU?  Also, if I upgrade my diet as well, which could result in the cancellation of the guarantee I have on my new Dell?  Thanks in advance!

Much here on the forums have used the HD 5670 on their units of 300 watt with no problems.

By the table below, you can see that the HD 5670 is only set to 190 watts in charge for the entire system.   I think that the video card will do only about 50-60 watts in game situations and where the only game not only around 20 watts.

  • Removal of the hard drive on Inspiron 620?

I must be really slow because I saw someone else asked this question, but how do I remove hard disks of the computer?  The online manual shows the years 620, which has a different configuration. This manual presents a tab on the cage of the hard disk that you push and then lift.  My 620 has no tab.  I pushed and pulled this thing in all directions without success.  I have removed the screws on the rails, but can not remove the individual unit either.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Inspiron 620, bad sound quality

I have a desktop Dell Inspiron 620 under Windows 7 Home Premium.  I have Logitech LS21 speakers (S-00040) (L, R, and subwoofer). Until last week, the sound quality was very good.  Now, I'm getting poor quality, a little scrambled his no matter what I play: Pandora, CNN, music websites.  I swapped the speakers.  I've fiddled with settings of control panel of configuration/sounds.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the sound cards. I've updated the sound card drivers, I plugged the speakers in the front and the audio jack.  All to nothing does not.  I probably have a hardware problem? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

  • Inspiron 620 Hard Drive stuck in the cage

I am upgrading an Inspiron 620-10 Windows.  I choose to do the upgrade on a new hard drive to preserve the original as a backup hard drive.  When I tried to remove the hard drive from its Assembly following the instructions (remove two screws and pull) I couldn't get out of the cage.  Something seems firmly hold the hard drive cage.  I removed the two screws to mount the material on the hard disk without success.  Currently I plan to install the new hard drive in the Tower, leaving the old unpowered hard drive but I would remove it to place it in an external USB enclosure.

Any ideas as to what could be lock the hard drive in the case would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Its a super good nest.  What you do is get a pair of pliers and squeeze the ears of the inside of the rails and it will slide out as if nothing was ever wrong. (I'm assuming that you have removed the TWO screws before attempting to bend the ears) Using two hands and standing on the case and pulling the habit out.  I considered breaking the reader with a sled, but decided against it.

  • Position of the jumpers pin on a MB from MIH61R Dell (Inspiron 620)

    Hello and help!

I bought my wife a new Dell Inspiron 620. I was dusting from the inside and come off a jumper connector. It's a PIN of five (5) labeled PWRSW1 on the outside edge towards the end of the DIMM. The MB is a MIH61R. Can someone tell me the proper position for the rider on PWRSW1?

    Let's save a nano-second...

Need to ask if you are sure the rider was actually this 5 header pin motherboard? Could he have come off some other header?

  • Cloning the hard drive on desktop PC Inspiron 620

New Member, first post here, great resource.

I work a friend with his desktop computer Dell Inspiron 620; 3.5 years.  The hard drive begins to run out, but computer still works fine right now.

I ordered a recovery and support on the way via Dell out of warranty support in case the disc falls in catastrophic failure before we get to this.  But rather than use this recovery media, reload the operating system, drivers, all applications, customization, etc.  I'm thinking of 'cloning' of the current hard drive while the original hard drive is still operational.

I have never cloned a drive before, but I understand that this would be the procedure. I buy a new identical replacement hard drive (found a 3.5 Sata 1 TB size) and also buy an external USB enclosure for the new disc, connect the new drive via a USB cable, start the cloning software, and then install the disc cloned when cloning is done in the computer?

No disadvantage of 'cloning' vs reload the operating system?  Any recommendations of any free cloning software, I consider using?   Cloning especially appealed to me because it is a highly customized small business computer.  Get this computer to its current state the long way is certainly feasible, but I want to do the simplest possible.

Thanks in advance for help people...

There is no need to buy an external enclosure, just install the drive to be cloned as secondary, all you need is a SATA data cable, there is a spare SATA power connector already within the chassis, for an additional HD.

The simplest method I prefer is to clone the existing hard drive to the new, that will also transfer all applications and programs.

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2016.

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage

Acronis resize partitions transferred to match the size of the new hard drive.

I also found the free version of AOMEI of Backupper to be excellent and have used it with great success with Windows 8.1 and 10

    http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html

Hard drive manufacturers, also have their own free cloning software available, but it can be used only with their hard drives.

First, install the new drive as the secondary and the image of the main hard drive in it.

Immediately after the cloning, shut down the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that the existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

As we already mentioned, it will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

  • Inspiron 620 MT switch drives me crazy (hitting and lack of response)

My desktop computer Inspiron 620 is a few weeks... From the moment where I started using it I noticed the button walk / stop reacted very badly... After playing with him (pushing several times), it should feed into the system... so, I informed the Dell... they sent their technician with a new front end and a switch... After mounting the new components... same thing... It would be only power system after a few thrusts communication... He was perplexed and went far to say that he would inform Dell. So I'm stuck with the problem... Funny, is that the problem is worse when I try feeding the system first thing in the morning or after a long period of time... once I managed to power the system, the rest of the day I do not seem to have the same problem... I wonder... If the problem has nothing to do with the Power button but another component... Am I the only person experiancing this issue? Any ideas what I send the pc to Dell?

    Hi guys,.

    I have the solution!

I extended my warranty for two years at a price of £70.00

I went to Dell Support cat.

Following the advice of the technician, I updated the driver from the system board and then updated the system Bios.

Restarted the PC and everything is now PERFECT.

Launches its first press of the power button EVERY TIME.

You might be able to do it without the help of a technician of Dell.

    Good luck

Hope you all get this fix.

    Kind regards

    Paul

  • Inspiron 620 SSD upgrade is no longer support AHCI with Windows 10

    Hi all

I had installed a Crucial SSD of CT256MX100 when you use Windows 7 without properly checking the parameters of AHCI and TRIM. This seemed to be working very well and providing very high throughput, however, upgrade to Windows 10 (from one day to the next... :/) there was a significant slowdown (20 second power to 4 minutes). After having looked around for a way to remedy this, I was unable to find the option AHCI in the BIOS for my Inspiron 620. It says in the manual of the system it is an option, an idea on how to activate it? Reinstall the OS?

To all those who can offer constructive help, thanks in advance!

I think you'll find these (which were the first latitude to support SATA) used a SATA to PATA Bridge chip - the controller is actually PATA, using a bridge to the SATA drive.  There is therefore, no AHCI option on them.

The Dx30 models were the first with native SATA (and AHCI) support.

  • ESXi underperformance of the r.620 vs R610

    All,

I currently run a server R610 (X 5550 procs) and a unit r.620 newly acquired (e5-2650) unit in a vSphere cluster 5. ESXi running the latest version and the latest patches. Dell servers up-to-date with respect to the firmware of all components. The unit uses internal 15 k SAS R610 leads to host the ESXi hypervisor, while the r.620 uses 2 GB SD cards in mirror for the ESXi hypervisor.

When I migrated some workloads on the new cluster member (r.620), I've seen some of our process execution times increase dramatically. The process performed on a MS SQL 2008 r2 server. When I migrated the VM on the initial cluster member (r610), execution time is back to the normal time.

I went then to face a series of landmarks a test virtual machine that has been migrated back and forth between each Member of the cluster and seen repeatable results that showed that the r.620 was SLOWER than the R610 in terms of CPU and memory benchmarks (using Passmark v7.0). Cluster using the EVC Nahalem mode. I have also conducted tests by removing the VCA mode and was able to get similar results with the R610 being the fastest performer.

I checked all the cores and hyperthreading is enabled. A glance at the guide of best practices for ESXi 5.0 gave anything different in my setup...

Has anyone seen or heard talk about these issues with the r.620 unit, or E5-2650 processors?

    Thank you

    Elvis

We had the same problem with our new r.620 (2650v2-E5). The performance was well below our old R710 (X 5550).

We could solve the problems of performance and to maintain a good ratio of energy saving dig by adjusting the profile' system settings ' in the BIOS:

  • (Redirected) The Dell's Active pen is compatible with the Inspiron 7352?

Is the active pen Dell Dell manufacturer: 750-compatible with the Inspiron 7352 AAMI?

The description States it is compatible with "select" portable 2 L1, but does not bother to list books. How hard is it to compatible hardware list? You have to jump through hoops to find out what works and what does not. This is ridiculous from a customer service perspective.

I took a * and ordered the feather, the buttons work to make appear the Onenote application, but I cannot write on my screen with it. I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong or if it's just is not compatible. There is no decent online manual.

Mixed with all wireless issues I've had with my Inspiron 7352 makes me regret try Dell. I wish I would have never ordered or sent during the return period. At this point, I'm willing to sell this computer for all that I get for it, count the money I lost as a lesson learned and never again buy another Dell.

  • Inspiron 620-7750 Radeon with 450W power supply installed does not start

    Hello!

I have looked EVERYWHERE online and on the forum and have seen several posts on this topic and still not found a solution that works.  I have a Dell Inspiron 620

    • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Edition operating mode

    • Graphics technology ProcesseurIntel HD Graphics 2000 dynamic video memory 5.0
    • Integrated graphics controller

Recently, I buy a Powercolor Radeon 7750 graphics card I have installed the drivers, uninstalled the current Intel Graphics driver from Device Manager and then install the new card.  I of course unplugged the PSU got rid of and left in power has failed to myself and plugged into the PCI-E.  After I tired to turn on but it does not start.  Fans begin to turn, including on the graphics card, but nothing comes up on the monitor and it won't start.  When I unplugged the 7750 card it starts very well?

At first I thought that it was not powered ridiculously horrible 300w PSU they put so that I have upgraded to an a 450w.  Everything works with the new power supply installed without the card, but as soon as I plug the new map, he continues to not start as before installing the card.  I have searched and tried things for 2 days now and CAN NOT find a solution.  I know that the 620 does not access the menu of the BIOS under settings in advance who does not help (don't know why Dell would never think it was a good idea!) so I can't change anything in there.

Please, any help would be fantastic!

    Thanks in advance!

The card is a bad card.  There should be ZERO problems with the supply of the stock 305 w and a 7750.
