The installation of the manufacturer DVD read error: "insert a disc.

Running Vista Business SP2 on an Athlon 3700 + I can't open a couple with my internal drive DDL Memorex 16 x DVD of installation of the manufacturer. I can read/burn discs, I burned and play movies. I tried to uninstall the driver and the removal of the upper and lower classes in the registry. I have attached an old DVD external firewire Sony and it will read the discs and the autorun on their part very well. I also ran a virus with Avast check last night. I have Roxio Creator 2010 and WinDVD 2010 installed but I don't think they are the problem other that change the AutoPlay on movies of Cineplayer.  I spent several hours on this and am puzzled. Someone has an idea it might be?

Oh yes, I also ran Microsoft auto repair program and when he got to the point where you select the disks to run additional tests he selects the drive "D:" problem Then he spits the disc by the manufacturer and says "insert a disc.

The drive laser is defective with the specific media type.

Either buy a new or replacement under warranty request if it is in warranty period.

  • CAN RECOVERY OPERATION, YOU HELP ME? Have a reader of CD/DVD read error problem

    Hello

My computer is a HP Media Center PC m7377a
    SYSTEM No. EP019AA #ABG
OS Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

Can anyone suggest what I should do now?

Seem to be stuck in recovery mode. Cannot use the hard disk partition? Cannot use my recovery disk in the disk drive?

I had my computer about 4 years from new. For all the last 2 + years my CD/DVD drive did not work, reading or writing. It will read the strange music cd sometimes? Its really almost never used. I tried update and the restoration of pilot operations in the past, but it didn't work. Not knowing what it takes I managed without the drive.

In any case with the PC is a bit slower now I thought that I follow the instructions and do a restore full and hopefully get my DVD usable return. As it do not write I could not save another method used with her, and she can't read I thought I can't use recovery discs.

After reading about the recovery of hard drive partition, this is the way I went. When I started the recovery process, I had left the disk 1 in the drive by accident. I don't know if this would affect what I chose to do hard drive recovery.

He began the recovery and at some point, I got a CD/DVD read error msg!, press a key to continue. What I did.

Therefore, I was round and round in circles. Here's what another msg of receipt:

    No system disk or

    Disk i/o error

    Press any key to restart

Restart, and then select the appropriate boot device

or insert the media in the selected boot device, press any key

    Another msg was:

    NTLDR is missing

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart

I can get to the HP Invent screen several times, tried all sorts of roads so he can continue the recovery from the hard disk and the disk

I did a post of a member (c0rnel) on NTLDR missing msg. Struck me most, erased the hard drive? thought that it was sorted, but still ended with a CD/DVD read error! Msg.

I got the dvd spin sometimes when load, and jarring, as his tent to do something? I was in the screen of HP recovery after pressing F10, on-screen where to transfer files between folders and says load disc 1. But when you load it in, you can hear it try? But nothings happening.

I don't think that theres a problem with the discs. Because the CD/DVD drive acted like this for a long time with the bar more each disc a little.

I have no idea why it never went through the recovery of the hard drive, I selected. Unless it is no good either.

    Questions

1 / what can I do with my player so he can read the recovery disc to reload the o/s?

2 / which component inside actually reads the signal from the reader, what is more likely to be at fault? Does need something

    replacement?

3 / If the real DVD drive is not defective, reloading of the o/s would bring the reader to functioning again.

Or like I asked to question 2, there is another component that reads the signals in the drive, which will always be what

    replacement?

Any Information or advice on how I can best proceed from here, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    Andrew

The only thing outside the laser in the DVD player, which controls the DVD player is the motherboard. Start with a cd or a dvd is totally independent of the hard drive. Evidence which is Live CD, which contains an operating system and can run an operating system such as Linux together without a hard drive is still present...

Is not yet 100% confirmation that your drive is bad because I've seen other Media Center Edition to the owners recovery discs awhile very difficult (and sometimes never work). The fact that you mention she had problems reading of CD, even the music indicates it is defective.

Most stores do have a return policy, so check it before you buy it.

  • the usb disk read error

I have problems reading from usb drive I use following

    path = "file:///E:/ChoferesRecreo";

You can only read SD card or a card internal inside the device, or simulated in the Simulator.

To run the SD card simulated in a directory on your PC, use the menu to "Simulate" (part of Windows Menu, no menu BB) on your Simulator.  Note that previous simulators were not able to use directories, according to me, which came with simulators for 4.6 and above.

  • I have a Matshita DVD/CD UJ890JS. I need to know how to activate the readability of the disc and the ability to read and format new discs.

I uninstalled the device and reinstalled it which didn't work. Even downloaded the drivers and software do not help. I have too much important data on my computer to make a full recovery, is not an option.

    Help!

Maybe the disc is worn out?  You can buy a replacement for it for $20, and you can buy an external DVD/CD burner for as little as $30.  Those external plug into a USB port.

Once you have your system back as you I invite you to buy an external hard drive and a good 3rd party backup program. You can configure it to automatically do everything in time and frequency of your choice. 1.5 TB external hard drives is about $90 these days and a very good FREE backup program is the Easeus todo backup free that you can download from
http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Who can make you save a lot of time and frustration, the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later, it happens to all computers for one reason or another.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite L30-101 - DVD read error CD player

My carpet * a DVD UJ-850 s recognize that occasionally an audio CD - I get a prompt "Insert the disk in the drive" as if there is nothing there. When downloading iTunes CD music, reader recognizes best 1 on 3 CD.

If I remove the CD and clean it sometimes recognize the drive when I reinsert, but not always and it frequently does not recognize new disks. Player does not seem to have a problem reading DVD and burn a disc if I can get it to recognize the blank CD.

Is it a question of laser? My drivers are up to date and Device Manager claims the player works correctly. It should be re-install the drivers?

    I'm running on Windows Vista.

    Hello

It is not easy to say why this happens especially if the issue occurs sometimes.
Always is it that ODD (optical disc drive) laser has a different position for DVDs and CDs so perhaps is there a problem with the calibration of the laser.

  • Unable to add data to the Virgin DVD + RW double layer after having ejected backup problem.

Did a backup using DVD + R double layer, and after having ejected the last media due to clerical error, I can no longer continue the backup due to the error: insert a disc - it seems that my hardware is no longer detect dual layer blank media. Works great on regular blank media 4.7 GB.

    Hi sal69,

This problem is caused by physical limitations in DL (Double Layer) media. These limitations prevent any real use multisession. When the media is ejected, the disc session may be closed for DVD-ROM compatibility. On these discs, DVD-ROM compatibility is achieved only when the disc is complete. When the disc is finished, it is closed forever. The physical characteristics of the media require two layers will be burned so that the disc can be played in a DVD player. The two layers can be burned only by closing the disc. As soon as the disc is closed, no additional data can be added to him.

You can follow the steps mentioned in the link below

    Hello!

Well, to me it sounds like it's the Linux boot disk isn't working properly if you can start the Toshiba Recovery disk successfully.
Have you tested the same disk of Linux to another computer or laptop?

In your case, I would try to burn the Linux disk again and use high quality as Verbatim DVD - R or TDK media.
Never had any problems with the two manufacturers.

  • Tecra M4 - DVD player does not recognize discs in Vista

    Hello

After the installation of Vista my dvd player does not recognize discs!
No update XP! It was a clean install of Vista.

I found several links on the upper filter and lower registry entries this entry does not exist in my registry under the CDROM class.

I tried the XP disk it works fine and recognizes all.
Drivers are installed correctly no problem in Device Manager is invited.

So I have no idea how to run it, seems to be a Vista problem

Could someone help me? I am really frustrated to this topic

    Thanks for your help

    Maybe this helps:

-Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD.
-Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    -Reboot the laptop

But what happens exactly? Which disks are not recognized?

  • How can I get specific information on my DVD reader/burner? I would get the name of the manufacturer and model number, for example.

I just bought '100 DVD + R16X for professional' discs to Taiyo Yuden to use for the archiving of the files on my computer.  There is a notice that came with the discs saying they are nine 1 x-16 x speed DVD + R (Compatible high-speed drive), and should I make sure my Player DVD is in line with the new 1 x-16 x recording standard.

I would like to know how can I determine if my drive is in line.  The information I could get, is that the drive is a device of "ATAPI DVD W DH16w1P ATA."

Maybe if I can learn more about the manufacturer and the model I can find if the drive conforms to the standard.

    I'd appreciate any help!

    Hello tjjfitz,

Great choice in the media from Taiyo Yuden which is one of my favorites (Japan, Singapore, Taiwan) for their dyes they use! Regardless of speed, use the slowest speed to burn your backups, they will last longer and are less likely to contain errors. I burn my backups at 4 x which, Yes is slow, but the quality of combustion is what matters when you want to get more long shelf life of your discs. I also recommend Virbatum (Japan, Singapore, Taiwan) too! Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

    Hi the prey,

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

You should check the settings of the computer BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) to boot from the CD/DVD. Check the manual or the support of the computer Web site for the same.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if your computer is compatible to install Windows 7.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
