  Clearly if your printer is having hardware problems, you should consider a repair shop or buy a new one.  Sometimes, if you clean the paper path, paper jams can be relieved, but with most of small printers, they are not gererally not repairable.

• 5520 all in the transport of a printer jam

  I unplugged, turned off moved round-trip transportation, and again, it will not be printed. Before it stopped working it's some unpleasant noise like a machine gun. I guess that is not a good thing? Please help or is this another throw away?

  I saw your post on your Photosmart 5520 is more printing and already make loud noises. There could be some paper stuck in the printer itself. I would say by following the guide below. Make sure that pay you special attention to cleaning the rollers as well. Sometimes a good cleaning can solve the problem!

  I ran a sheet of labels into the printer, part of the top of the sheet of labels is stuck inside the printer.  I ca not see the piece to remove it. I cleaned the rollers and it still jams.  How can I remove the piece of stickypaper? Or what I need to take the printer to get it fixed?

  I had a similar problem when someone brought me a printer with a label stuck on the inside.  I was able to get out the remains with the tweezers, a flashlight and a lot of patience...  With the Officejet 8600, I suggest to unplug the printer, removing the duplexer back and open the cartridge access door.  Do not tip the printer, if you did a lot of printing, there may be excess ink in the service area.

  Wow!  I found the video on how to find a paper jam!    It was a step that was not included on the instructions of the machines, i.e. check behind the print cartridge and the whereabouts of my paper jam!   When everything has failed, read the instructions, eh?

  The printer is not in the list, but the reset is the same as the first group of printer listed in the table.

  It is a hardware problem, not a Windows problem. You should contact HP for assistance.  This may mean that the engine or the running gear is toast. They should be able to tell you which components to check.

  • What is the brand and model of the printer?
  • Do you have the manual of the printer with you?

  The following factors can cause paper jams:

  1. paper loaded properly in the paper tray.

  2 rolls of paper damaged or dirty.

  3. torn, crumpled or wet paper loaded in the paper tray.

  4. the access door back or double-sided (duplexer) printing accessory cannot be closed or is not locked in place.

  5 paper was added to a stack already in the status bar.
  The status bar contained more than one type of paper.

  6. torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.

  7. the status bar is too full.

  8. If printing on an envelope, the envelope edges are bent.

  When you said that the printer is 'Off Line', do you mean that the printer does not connect to the computer or that the printer feeds NOT on at all?

  Whatever it is, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general.   I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500 Prime Minister who until a few days ago, worked like a charm. I noticed two bac 1 and 2 paper jams. I took a dive inside through the openings in the paper tray and noticed that he was missing a tab which redirects the paper to the top. Without it the book just wants to go all right and jams. Now the big printer bit is no more. Anyone know if this repairable? Your help is appreciated.

  I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. If this if broken part inside the printer, it will NOT be replaced.

  You can contact the Support of HP (1800-474-6836). Do you speak the duplexer at the back of the printer, or something inside?
