the printer not print!

The printer takes two pieces of paper at a time, and then it says "Paper jam". All of the paper out of the back of the printer. It is a HP Officejet J4500.

You can try to clean the rollers. This document contains the instructions: more than one page once fed through the printer.

  • Epson printer driver does not appear in the printer & Scanner window

I downloaded the latest driver for my Epson Artisan 50 printer OS 10.11.5. I ran the installer, and it seems that the installation was successful. But when I am preferences system-> printers and Scanners and click the + to add the new printer, it does not appear in the list 'Add '. How ca I add the driver to my preferences printers and Scanners?

You do not add a printer driver for printers and Scanners.  You add the printer itself.

The Epson Artisan 50 is not a printer capable of AirPrint, as shown here:

    On AirPrint - Apple Support

(I have an Epson taking is an AirPrint printer, and it works very well with OS X 10.11.5.)

The Artisan 50 printer seems (but not scanner) software in the Apple driver:

I need to adjust printing to 65%, then select a setting on the printer of non-standard. When I select PRINT, the preferences box is presented to the user, but the changes are ignored. Hi Peter, is the problem with a PDF document? Financial sites generally use a PDF research reports and statements which need to have a very controlled format. Usually, you can tell that it is a PDF file, because the document will have a toolbar customized with its own print icon. I think that in this case, dialog layout Page of Firefox is not used because the document is already pre-formatted. But I do not know why the preferences would not work in this case.

  • What impression Firefox does not open the print dialog window

When printing to our office, we often print on several printers, not just the default printer. When you print in Firefox, however, printing is automatically sent to the default printer and I do not get a print dialog window. I reset the options Firefox of the printer, change the file prefs.js and started Firefox in safe mode to check if an add-on affect printing - all about nothing done. When I print from Chrome, or (shudder) Internet Explorer, I get a dialog box send me options of the printer. Your help and your responses will be appreciated.

There is a hidden preference to work around the dialog box, but it is certainly not defined by default. To check that:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste print and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If you find a preference named print.always_print_silent there is your trouble.

Next question would be, where it comes from? A few possibilities:

    (A) a user.js file that overrides prefs.js at startup. See: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    (B) a file lock in the program folder. See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

Simply select a different printer and when you print from this printer, Firefox uses this 'default' printer until you select and use another printer in Firefox.

  • How can I configure the printer preferences and not just margins, etc.

The default setting for my printer is A5 (8.5X5.5' and every time when you print a page (document) of Firefox, I have to set the printer to letter-size preferences and which tray to print.) Is there a way for me have Firefox do for me?

    Thanks, uncle Dewey

    From topic: config

It's preference that tells Firefox saves the last modification of the settings.

Print save_print_settings = True - (by default): save the print settings after each print job

This setting has to be changed in about:config if you would want to switch it to False.

    And as jscher2000 said.

    Print.printer_name.print_paper_height

    Print.printer_name.print_paper_width

-the values are stored as measures either inch or metric or not according to U.S. paper sizes (letter, legal, custom, etc.) or 'A' type of paper sizes.

These two settings are saved in the selection of paper made in the dialogue window of the printer properties for the printer that can be opened from the Properties button in the "native print dialog" window of Firefox which is what you see when you start printing in Firefox via {Ctrl + P} or one of the menu items print.

These two settings are automatically set or changed with each print job which is sent to the printer. There is no way to set a permanent default paper size, the default is the last used paper sizes.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, Firefox does not honor the system-wide default paper or printer settings you make for the printer in your operating system. In Firefox the "last used" is the "default".
  • On the website of the Wall Street Journal, I am not able to print to the print format. Never had a problem before with this.

I click on the print icon in an article in the Wall Street Journal. A new window opens with the article in print. When I print, I get blank pages paginated, matching the length of the article. Corner of the page is displayed on the top left the title of the article; angle will appear on the top right, the web address of the article; on the lower left corner will appear the pagination; and on the lower right corner will be the date and time of printing. It's just how any article would print; the only difference is that I do not get the content of the printed article.
It started only a couple of days. I don't have this problem with other publications, but this problem does not exist with other browsers.

In case you have changed the default Page Setup scaled, make sure that shrink Print CheckBox is enabled before running the printable page.

  • I was wondering if I'm looking for something which exists not-firefox can automatically close the "Print preview" window after printing?

I use the addon in my firefox toolbar to print an excerpt from the data of the Web site and then add it to a pdf file. Sometimes I'm distracted, then do not remember if I went through the process and print/added the page in the file. It would be useful if there was a way that the print preview window closes after printing which confirms that the process is complete. Thanks in advance.

You're right: print preview remains open until the licensee. As a person who is regularly using the ESC key to dismiss dialog boxes, I had not really noticed an extra step.

After a little research, it triggered a few times over the years (at least 2 identified bugs) but one was rejected immediately and the other has not attracted a serious debate since it was filed in 2006. I think that there are no secret switch in the software to do this.

  • Only on Facebook and Firefox, the left/right margin are defined in 6 inches, is not the print size that is correct, I want to know how to extend this back full page?

This only happens on Facebook while I'm in Firefox, think of a word document where I put the margin by about six inches on each side. The print shows only on about half the page Central. It has nothing to do with the size of the text, it will appear as usual, just more lines to say the same thing. If that sounds confusing, it's OK, because it's confusing to me, questions let me know.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: Try to install the full software concludes printer, but the IP address is the address of the router, not the printer

I tried several times to remove printer, uninstall the drivers, reboot, reset the printer to the factory, etc. without success.  I even went into the registry and deleted the printer reference as much as I could.

Please note I know how to connect the wireless printer and did successfully to the router with IP 192.168.1.108.   The problem is that the installer will search for a printer on the network and detects the 8610, but it appears with the IP address 192.168.1.1, which, of course, fails to install correctly.

How can I get the dialog box to see the printer with the CORRECT IP ADDRESS?

Well, I gave up trying to connect wireless and connected the printer with an ethernet cable.    Re-installed software that went much smoother, but still showed printer with IP router when you try to add it.   I chose "other devices" and is manually entered IP ethernet.

    Everything works now, including scanning.

I think that the new router (for satellite internet) blocking a port that is required to complete the driver installation.   I had to add a switch to have an additional ethernet port to connect the printer.

It was NOT a good experience.   I had a lot of practice of deleting, downloading, installation, configuration of the HP printer again and again well, therefore perhaps not all a lost cause.

I am trying to print to a Zebra GK420d printer and firefox don't remember my paper size once a label is printed. Ideas on how to force a format of paper and do remember?

I'm on windows 7 and have changed the size of my printer paper, preference and properties of the printer and it will print successfully in Notepad.

    Hi jpoeffel,

Have you looked at the article Knowledge Base, solve the printing problems in Firefox? There is some good information in there troubleshooting. I suggest that you try to reset the print settings.

  • C410: C410 the bed not scanning/printing

    Hi all

I have a new C410 market with HP Easy Scan installed.

I am NOT able to print - or scan - bed. All works well with the document Feeder and the Document

Contactor, feeder, powered by small suspension arm, detects the paper loaded correctly and I used this function.

I want to be able to print or scan using the bed. as well as the document feeder.

It's prompting me to feed the Document Feeder & I want to go 'old school' from time to time.

There are some default setting that controls this? My search did not produce results.

    Thanks for the help.

    David

    Hi David,

HP Easy Scan settings refer only to the analysis, which means that only for sources of inputs to scan an original and not to any related print job.

For scanning you can use glass flat or Automtic document feeder.

Select ADF allways employeront high page document feeder, invites you for a mistake when there is no page loaded.

Choose the glass flat allways use the scanner glass, without worrying if a page has been loaded in the ADF top or not.

By selecting Auto scan only the ADF will be once the original has been charged to the feeder albums (of which ten displays a prompt 'Original charge' on the printer screen), or will use glass once there are no documents loaded in the feeder at the top of the page.

I thought that IF the CSA was not activated by the CSA "detection switch" then the scanner would default to the dumpster analysis function. It seems that my "thinking" in this respect was not accurate - Yes?

The information above is correct, once the Source is set as automatic, for any other Source selection that does not apply the sensor.

It does not refer to any paper or tray when printing, those are parameters to make a print dialog box.

Hope I was clear with your intention, if not please let me know.

  • The printer receives do not all data. It is caused by the MAC address filtering.

How can I solve this problem.

The printer attempted to join the network but does not receive any data.  This may be caused by the MAC address filtering. If MAC address filtering is enabled and you want to keep enabled, add the MAC address of your printer in the list of devices allowed for your wireless access point or router before continuing.

    HP Officejet 4500 - G510n wireless all-in-one printer

Not at all use MAC filtering.  Make sure it is off in your router.

  • Hall 13: HP pavilion laptop does not connect to the printer HP envy range 7640

My laptop does not connect to my HP envy printer. It keeps saying the driver is not available or is it ready, but does not connect. I know the printer is working because I can print from my phone. Anyone know the driver I need to download or what to do?

    Ruizgeraldine

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the problems with your Envy 7640 in Win10 printer and wanted to help.

The problem is that by default HP print drivers installed by the upgrade of Win10 often do not work.  I have two HP printers and neither one worked after the Win10 upgrade.  We also receive a lot of messages of other people with the same problems.

I linked the page drivers and software for the Win10 drivers for your printer: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-7640-e-all-in-one-printer-series/6617267/model/6617268#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930C7

You must download and install the full feature software and drivers for the printer.

Then unplug the printer and install the software.

Do reconnect the printer until the installation program invited to do so.

Once the installation is complete, restart.

You should then be able to use your printer in Win10.

    Good luck
