The State of health critical vCenter 5.5 follow-up

Hello

I have a new alarm 'Critical Health Status Monitoring' and in the description, it says see vCenter Service Health in the request of the Administration, but when I go to the Administration (logged as administrator) there is no section of Health Service of vCenter . I do not see a vCenter Service Health section even being logged in as the admin. root

Found a few suggestions to check services, but they're all on the vcenter server.

Form what I found, seems to be on a compatible web browser and have installed the plugin for integration of customer, although it includes the same way on Google Chrome and IE 11.

I have no way to see what is about this error, any thoughts?

Thank you!

Hello

you have two options to check for this.

1. connect to your vSphere Client and goto vCenter Service status.

2 log in to your vSphere Web Client, open your vCenter and goto followed and Service status

We could see if a Service is not working as it should.

  • Disk HARD/RAID controller not no projection in the State of health

I've recently updated several ESXi 4.x hosts 5.1 and after the upgrade disks and the raid controller are showing is more in the section of the State of health of vSphere. The servers are all Dell PowerEdge 2950 and I even tried to make a fresh full install which did not help either. Here is a screenshot of the State of health of the problematic server. I need to get this resolved so that our monitoring solution can see the status of the disks/table.

Here is a screenshot of an another PowerEdge 2950 still under 4.1 and it shows the disk controller and raid fine.

Anyone seen this before? or have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Greg

For any other person who comes through this, the problem is caused by ESXi 5.x is no longer handling/Bay record of voting in the same way as 4.x and earlier (see screenshots in an original message for comparisons). The only way to get the matrix of discs/fully new election is to have the ESXi host managed by vCenter (standalone no longer works). Hope this helps others as it was a big headache for me for awhile.

To see the State of health of the disks and RAID configurations on a HP host, you must install CIM HP (aka offline Bundle) providers for the specific ESXi version on the host. However, I checked the HP support web site, and there's no CIM providers for the server model you are using.

I have a HP DL380G5 and G7 host running with installed CIM providers and health status occurs when connect directly to vCenter as well as for the host.

Does anyone have examples of scripts that queries an ESXi 4 host for the info on the State of health or the tabs of the condition of the equipment?  I'm looking for something simple (ideally less lines of code) so even if it returns some info about the CPU of the host who would be perfect.

  • The State of health does not detect bad memory

    Hey everybody,

    I'm running 3.5 update 4 on a Dell 2950. The

problem I have is that I get a defective DIMM message on the LED of the

Server, but the parser memory under the health status is green and happy.

Any ideas why this happens? I noticed on all of my boxes of the host

You can not expand the section of memory under State of health; You can

with all other sections. It could be related? Any thoughts?

    Thank you

What is the code?  I had E2110 MBE (Bit error memory) which do not show in the State of health.  In the past, I used OpenManage on the ESX host.  The company I am now is not installed and I don't know if they will allow it or not.  My problem is that my mistakes were in equipment that located on our site of DR unmanned and we did not know the errors until we are to test!

    Kind regards...

  • Critical state of health

Hi I seem to have a critical alert in the State of health under the system.

'S called it assert status 0 for Bios 1 - no accurate ABR.

I am running the same version of esx on other servers with eaxt material and versions of bios without the same error.

    IBM 7979BJG

The only difference with this Setup is that we run windows and suse on the same box guests.

Anyone got clues?  I have found no info research communities or on the web.

    Screenshot attached

I had the same exact error message on an IBM 3650.

It happened after a series of reboots where we change to the fiber backbone. In my opinion, that was irrelevant, however, no other systems have experienced the problem.

Several attempts to fix the bug doesn't have to 'fix', including the BIOS flashing and runs a series of diagnostics. Finally, I stop the server entered in the server room and went to the rear of the machine. Notice how when the servers are "shut down" whole backplane is always lit like a Christmas tree... I disconnected the box, wait 10 seconds and plugged it back in.

Hey presto, problem solved. Of course, the BIOS changed a parameter that showed a recovery of the fault and she needed a NAP to forget.

  • No State of health for the Smart Array P400i controller

    Hello

I installed VMware ESXi 3.5 U3 with HP Management Agents on my HP Proliant DL360 G5 server with a Smart Array P400i controller.

When I look at the State of health of my material in the VMware Infrastructure Client, I can't control my storage controller.

The Smart Array P400i controller is compatible (checked with VMWare HCL) with ESXi 3.5 U3.

So why can I not follow it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kristof

The implementation of ESX ICD (health) does not support HP Smart Array controllers. You can't, so not able to monitor volumes P400i RAID controller to health of ESX.

  • PC Health Monitor - assessment of the State of the battery on the L50T Satellite-

Last week, I bought a brand new L50t-A-145 8.1 Windows running. Beautiful machine and apparently everything works perfectly.

However when activating the PC Health Monitor, he recorded the drums as being in a State of 'fair'... which means that there ' a loss of capacity, but it will meet the needs of most users. For a new machine, it is simply not good enough... I have a P845t that is over a year who never recorded the State of the battery as in anything other than "good" condition.

I did a number of things (which, I hasten to add, I never had to worry about the P845t or also any other Toshiba laptop)... (1) I charged the battery completely and let run for sub 10% at least 6 or 7 times; (2) I uninstalled PC Health Monitor and downloaded the latest version on the Toshiba site and reinstalled (3) I completely reset the computer. All to... nothing is done, the battery status still shows as that 'fair '.

The reason for which I got a number of options, is that it seems to me there is nothing wrong with the battery... it does not seem to take longer than usual to load and I appear to get the proper use of the machine as she throws... my little finger tells me that there is nothing wrong with the battery.

However, in contrast to previous cell phones, this one comes with the sealed battery (one wonders who the nutter who thought about this or has it been done to overcome the concerns of airport security and other?). Therefore, if it turns out that something is wrong with the battery, it would mean the withdrawal of the front rear and associates of concerns. Or is it strange reading symptomatic of another potential problem with the computer?

So I am sending you the machine backwards, but requested, before, if anyone out there can think of something else I can do to check the situation?

Please keep in mind, I'm not particularly bright when it comes to computers, so any advice must be specified for a layman to understand!

    Thank you very much.

    Lindsay

Thanks for the comments. I don't know what went wrong, but the essential is that everything is OK again.

Discount to zero has been the good method to check the hardware and software features.

  • VM with the State "unknown".

After a power failure sudden, we could recover our vcloud Director cell, but all the virtual machines indicate 'unknown' State and all operations are disabled from the GUI. I am able to poweron vms with PowerCLI Start-CIVapp without problem.

    Example of output from Get-CIVM:

    Name State GuestOSFullName CpuCount MemoryGB

    ----                           ------                      ---------------                          -------- --------

    WINVM0 Unknown Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-... 0.000 0

    WINVM1 Unknown Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-... 0.000 0

    WINVM2 Unknown Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-... 0.000 0

I tried refreshing and reconnecting to vcenter vcloud without change.

    Any ideas?

the vm_inv table can essentially be emptied... all the * _INV tables are basically just a get vCenter status... If you retrieved the table, the State may be absent for items in question.

I think that you basically have to truncate all the * tables of _inv, followed by property_map... then reboot vCloud Director services.  This will force a full sweep of the inventory and get the correct/current.

If you want to help by doing this, you can create a support request and the technical team can help.

Yes you can set it up in scheduled windows tasks to execute all X days at X hours.

CAI I have the same via vcenter server program then it will work?

No, the vCenter Server has no option to run Powershell scripts in its scheduled tasks. If your vCenter runs on a windows server, you can of course configure the task in windows Task Scheduler.

    Riadh Gunnal

Guys, I found the solution. At least it works for me. I don't remember the website, but it was half correct, it lacked a single step.

1 stop the vCenter inventory service

    2 - remove all the contents of C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Inventory Service\data

    3 - go to C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Inventory Service\scripts\ and run createDB.bat

    4 - run register.bat with your server name. FQDN Register.bat 443

5 start the vCenter inventory service.

    And that's all!

My environment: VCenter 5 update vCenter 4.1. Same host, same name.

  • All desktop computers in the State of the report '(missing)' View Manager

    Hello world

I'm testing the view 4.6 for internal use and my 3 users today announced that they are unable to connect to their desktop computers.

The State reported for desktop computers in the display manager is "available (missing)."

I noticed that you can still connect with RDP if you point directly to the IP address of the Virtual Desktop, shows like "connected (missing)."

I noticed that it shows not the host or data warehouses where the offices are located, looks like a communication problem with vCenter.

I restarted the vCenter and the server connection view with no result. East view of 4.6 and vCenter 4.1 as guests.

I have attached a screenshot to show you what I mean.

    Any ideas?

Penetrating the VMs a vApp is probably the cause as vApps are not supported with view currently. If all goes well moving their new will solve your problem.

  • How do MANUALLY enter you data into the application of health 10 IOS? There is no symbol and touch edit only gives you the option to delete existing data.

I checked in the application of the health and read the Apple support page. They show the screen for 10 IOS on an iPhone, but their instructions don't work. There is not a Plus symbol to add data manually. It has only an editing tool that you can touch and only allows you to delete data.

    Hi, rmetzker!

To manually enter the data points in the application of health, first go to the display of data on health as shown below.

Then select category to which you want to enter data in (I'll use body measurements for example), then press on what data you enter (measurements > weight). In the upper right corner, it will be a plus + icon for you to manually enter your own data points.
