  • Computer froze during the upgrade/installation of windows xp

I have windows xp home edition on a Dell desktop computer. I had problems with the computer freezing and then lost the connection to the internet 3 days ago. So I decided to reinstall windows xp from cd. However, I have chosen upgrade, rather than new install (because it was the suggested method). Now my computer will not complete the upgrade but is frozen during the installation. It remains to 32 minutes until the end. I can't seem to start, can't control/alt/delete or whatever it is. If I unplug my computer and launch it then again once, it resumes where it left off. How can I break out of this loop and start over with a fresh install? Thank you.

OK, it would have been better to have all the information on this machine in one place. I guess your question in the other post you made about activation is for the same computer? If this is correct, then the information I gave you in your previous post is not applicable.

With Dell computers, using Dell reinstallation media, you don't need to enter a product key during installation and the operating system is already activated.

If you use a different XP installation disc that was not provided by Dell, this is why you are experiencing activation problems. If you do not have a Dell brand installation CD, you will need to use a manufacturer OEM generic system disk and use the product key on the label of CA certificate on your computer. If you use a copy of XP retail, you would use the product key on the CD to copy the retail case. In the case of the generic OEM drive, it must be the same version of XP that came with your computer (Home/Pro/MCE).

All that being said, your sound of questions as a material. Did you leave all devices attached during the repair facility? If so, this can also cause the problem. Unplug everything except (obviously) your mouse and your keyboard when doing an operating system install. You should ensure that the material is solid before attempting to install again.

Understand that all your data will be lost. If you save before, try to start with Linux Livecd such as Knoppix and copy the files to an external hard drive. Then download a utility from drive to drive mftr site. or use a third-party (Acronis Disk Director, Knoppix gparted) start Disk Manager to delete partitions on your hard drive and format the drive.

Now, do a clean install of Windows, preferably using a Dell XP installation CD. Install Dell drivers for all your hardware when you're done, restore data from backups. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • What are the upgrade offers to Windows 8 if I bought Windows 7 last year?

    Hello

I have a windows7 home premium pc, and I came to know that you have some high-gradation offers to do so in windows 8, but on the site it is said that it will offer to those who bought a pc after June 12. Unfortunately I bought last year. is there high-gradation offers I can enjoy...

    Thank you.

The only upgrade offers available for PCs purchased before June 2, 2012 is the upgrade $ 39.99 for Windows 8 Pro, which is still significantly cheap compared to the full price to upgrade.

  • The upgrade to vsphere 4 essentials for vsphere 4.1 essentials more with 2 servers?

I currently have a Dell 2950 III with processors x 5460 double hearts running vsphere 4 essentials and I am looking at upgrading on two servers with vsphere 4 essentials more with vmotion. How do I know if I can continue to use my existing 2950 and add a Dell R610 with two hexagonal x 5680 core processors? I want to be able to run most of my guests on the new R610 but power move them back to the 2950 (which could be changed during the upgrade) and if necessary R610.

    Thank you.

The only concern, you'll need to know is the processors for R710, R610, and PE 2950. You must ensure that enhanced Vmotion is supported for these inorder to three servers for vmotion (live migration) seamlessly.

I know R610 and R710 works, but I'm not sure what that generate a PE2950 you are referring. You can see the matrix here. http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalID=1003212 an another prereq is that all of these VMs must be in the shared storage and the shared storage is presented to all these 3 hosts.

  • Hard to find the upgrade to Adobe Flash player for Vista 64-bit

I got my PC for a little over 2 years now and I would like to watch videos and movies on my pc via internet.  When I try to view a video or a movie, a bar appears at the top of the window tells me to download the correct version of adobe flash, but it never works.  I tried to access the adobes site to find an upgrade, but they show no one is yet available for 64-bit Vista.

My husband bought a new PC last Christmas and has the 64-bit vista, but he can watch videos and movies online.  Did I miss something on Adobes site?

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You're not missing something on the Adobe Web site. Flash is only available in 32-bit version. You can use Internet Explorer 32-bit (in your Programs Menu) or install Firefox . Then, install the 32-bit Flash Player and your husband will be happy. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

If I were you (and my computer) I would opt for 64 bit for several reasons.  No doubt, it's a pain, but not a recurring.

Yes the parameters is a simple gesture.  Since firefox is 32-bit, it will work either.

    Dependent on 32-bit level

Earn 8 a Metro and regulaer of the office.  You can easily switch using the key of the 'victory '.

You can pin, have lists of shortcuts and virtually everything that you now on win 7.

Don't get me wrong, it's different and you will love it or hate it.

Good luck.  (BTW I used it as my only OS since February)
