The upgrade of RAM and warranty questions
Hi all
So, I have a dv6-7031tx, which has 4 GB of Ram. Now I want to remove the 4 GB of Ram on my laptop and replace it with 2 sticks of Ram of 4 GB, will be canceled warranty if I do this? The RAM brand im going for is G.Skill, Patriot or Kingston.
Edited: I talked to HP support last week and apprently they recommend not third party as G.Skill RAM, they recommend only Mircon. I know not even how good are the Micron reputation and they are not well known.

You will not void the warranty by installing the memory of any provider.
The only way you will cancel the guarantee is if damage you the memory slot, plastic cover, physically or does not follow the procedures in the service manual to install memory (like removing the battery and the power of a/c before working inside your laptop.
I used the Patriot, G.Skill, Kingston, Crucial, Mushkin in HP laptop computers and desktop PC with a lot of success.
I can also tell you that HP uses no chips Micron exclusively in their PC.
Question... Why do you want to delete a module of memory 4 GB perfect condition except if they put a PC3-1333 chip here and you want to install 2 PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) memory?
Another question? If this is the case, why go to halfway?
I just max the thing out to its capacity of 16 GB and buy 2 x 8 GB PC3-1600 (PC3-12800), memory modules.
The page of the form is incorrect about the maximum of 8 GB.

I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

No, you will not lose the warranty coverage.
AFAIK the upgrade of RAM is also explained in the user manual the RAM memory modules and HARD drive are parties extensible user to change these parts does not affect the warranty -

RAM: 2.00 GB system Type: 32-bit operating system.I thought to increase RAM to improve efficiency, speed of my PC.
Could you please suggest which RAM should go for? I will buy a new RAM or the existing RAM can be improved?

Is there a default value for the color management in PSE10? Beautiful photos from iPhoto, but blur with elements. I need help with this before as I consider that the upgrade to PSE13 and beyond.
Printing which forms an angle seems ok, but one that is horizontally seems faded, incomplete.
I was wondering if I saved a layer somewhere and set it as a default value.
If you group the layers, you will be left with a single layer, thus spreading your concern.
Suggest that you do the following:
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your printers
- Reset the default preferences.
Hold the Alt, Ctrl + Shift keys when you click the icon to open the items. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say Yes.
Items nearby and let regenerate the file.

I own CS 5 Design Premium. Read the FAQ, it seems, I am eligible to proceed to 6 CS but I can't find the upgrade to purchase and download. I can't upgrade to CC because $49 per month, it's too much for me - do not use this product for the job. The offer of $29 seems reasonable but $49 is too much. I don't need most of the programs included in the CC, but subscribing to only three of them will cost much more. Really don't know what to do here :-(

However, it seems that I can't enter the BIOS more.I tried several buttons, but it just won't let me get bios of the laptop more.
Which button to use to access the BIOS?2. I want to upgrade the standard amount of memory from 4 GB to 8 GB.

If there are 2 RAM sticks, remove one RAM Strip and check the speed. You can also try to swap the RAM sticks and check.

Hard drive replacement and warranty question Portege and Tecra models
Good afternoon
I'm hoping for a little clarity if a laptop warranty is invalidated if the hard drive is replaced for another title of model/difference. The company that I work buys models Tecra and Portege for these last years, if we decide to buy more large hard disks and get our IT Department install them will be that gap in the agreement of guarantee with Toshiba?
I talked to Toshiba and they were a little gray in their response. They said that, if you didn't damage the laptop, it should be fine, but if you send it as an unrelated question, with what they can carry out repairs on the laptop if the hard drive does not match the orgional one provided...
Can somone if this is the case? It seems ridiculous that you would not be able to replace the drive even if bought from an official and used dealer in a corporate environment.

As much as I know RAM and HDD upgrade do not negate the warranty. For many models of laptops, you can find instruction how to do this. It is described in the document of the user s manual or you can find short videos on Toshiba documents (knowledge base).
Even on this forum in the USER SELF REPLACEMENT section you will find instructions how to replace the hard drives.
What you can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and check what they say on this subject.
