The upgrade to Windows 7 will not solve a problem starting?

original title: Vista to 7

About a year ago, vista has become corrupted and I can't even log on my laptop. I am out of warranty and I was wondering if the purchase Windows 7 might just do the trick?

A complete reinstallation of Vista may also do the trick. Back to factory fresh State (after copying out of the files that you can't afford to lose) by using the restore factory option provided by the manufacturer of the computer.  An upgrade to any version of Windows 7 might just put the questions along with the upgrade.

I'm sure that the last entry in the log has something to do with my problem.

RESOLVED: "gamename has stopped working", games for Windows Live problem *.

    OK, finally solved.

I uninstalled what is called "Windows Live ID Sign - in Assistant", as well as the usual games of .NET, MS for Windows - LIVE and games for Windows Marketplace Client, then ran a registry cleaner (I used CCleaner, which is free) and restarted.
I then reinstalled GWL from MS. site

  • the upgrade to windows 7 will eliminate current problems

My wife's cell phone is currently running Vista. One day the phone let out this blood, and that the said laptop curdeling scream has been infected. I contacted IYOGY, and apparently the laptop had several viruses. They cleaned remotely and installed their anti virus, THE SHIELD. He has never been the same. It takes like 15 minutes or more to start, and that it runs slower than you can imagine. I thought maybe I could upgrade to windows 7. Who would solve the problem?

In place upgrade likely would do nothing to solve your problem.  If your system is still host malware, that may very well be the source of your problems, the upgrade would not wipe out unless you do a clean install.  Your best option is to either a destructive restore to reinstall Vista on the recovery partition (if your computer has a restore partition - check your owner's manual) or by using the installation diskettes that may have come with your system and opting to allow the reader to be wiped.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

I suggest you put the computer to boot and check which program non-microsoft is the origin of the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • One last question... The upgrade of Windows 7 will be a step forward or backward?

An upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium really ultimately will make a very positive difference & great overall performance and use daily versus continuing to run Vista Home Premium on HP's newer models equipped with AMD Turion or Athlon processors such as the laptop DV2000 or m8200n Office?

Personally, I like Windows 7 to Windows Vista, based on performance. The systems I use with Windows 7 to work faster now compared to performance with Vista.

He could not make a huge difference or big, but you will feel a positive difference.

  • New upgrade of Windows 7 will not get updated

I've just updated for Win 7 SP1 home edition Premium on DVD. This is a new installation of XP. The automatic update feature is pasted on updates. I can download manually, but the automatic update feature does not work. I also tried to update IE8 on IE11. I can manually download the package, but to demand that fails when it tries to download the updates. I also tried IE9 with the same results. I even tried the free update to win 10.  It downloads fine, but fails to demand, when it searches for updates. All the other features of the Win 7 upgrade work very well.

I searched and read this forum posts about it. I tried many suggested fixit downloads, and a few other KB downloaded manually updates without success. Still, it does not solve the problem. It just keeps searching for updates forever. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I assume that you have followed the instructions I already gave you exactly I realized...

Let it run so that it provides updates.  This can take hours.

I do this all the time and rarely ran into difficulties you describe.  Tips on installing a little both are just stupid.  Let just the thing take what time it is necessary to run it.

    Another thing can help:

Go directly to the Microsoft Download web site and get KB3102810, install it.  Which can sometimes speed up the process of WU.
