The VCP exam requirements

Hello

I would like to take the VCP exam, but I did not take any course by Vmware, I have in my company 4 VMware servers and virtual Center.

If I can take the exam without attending the course of VMware?

Thank you

I believe you can pass the test, but you will not be recognized as a PCV until all the prereqrisites have been met.

  • I wish to take the VCP exam

    Hello

Sorry this is not the most technical issues.

I'm looking to take the VCP exam and as an extra boost of confidence, I will buy additional learning materials.

Can you please let me know if the current VCP exam is the VCP - 310?

    Best regards, Gareth

Oh, I forgot to say, I personally wouldn't buy additional books. One of my blog posts was on practice tests, I would say that it applies also to the VCP books:

  • With regard to the VCP Exam

    Hello team,

I completed my training vSpere 5 and would like to secure Channel review. Can someone please provide details below.

How many questions will be there to review?

    Is there a negative brand?

How long we have to review secure Channel?

Please take a look at http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&ui=www_cert

You will find answers to your questions (in the FAQ) and for example the review plan that lists the topics under review.

Can you please provide where we can download the correct discharge of VCP exam...

Landfills, essentially using the trunk and may not be discussed in instances of VMware. If you took the course and prepare all the documents indicated in the management plan and installation - most important - a small lab, you should be able to prepare for the exam.

  • Invitation to the beta exam VCP5-DT

    Hi guys

Recently, I finished doing my cert VCP5 and was super happy to receive an email saying I was invited to the VCP5-DT Invitation to the beta examination to VMware. I always wondered how people getting these guest, now, I know. My question to the forum is:

-Format of the examination is more than 3 hours and 225 issues

I didn't know it would be all the exam questions and not the usual 80 or more. Does anyone know the pass mark?

Are more generous VMware by the way these people who take the beta version review

-I did no preparation to the poster and the review time is on December 20

It is always interesting to try to give the review in so little time, since I have the opportunity. As the review is half price, they told me

-If I pass this will count as a real exam cert even if it is a beta version review or will I have to redo the real exam?

I am in 2 minds to go all court for review, but 20 is too early and as most reviews of VMware, you have to really know your suff you can not just luck

Others thoughts and opinions would be very appreciated of the form.

    Thank you very much

    Concerning

-Format of the examination is more than 3 hours and 225 issues

ALL of the questions. Fundamentally, VMware test the first set of questions on the beta tester.

-Anyone know the pass mark? Are more generous VMware by the way these people who take the beta version review

Is still 300, but this does not mean that this beta exam is simpler.

You have to study hard to pass.

-I did no preparation to the poster and the review time is on December 20

This could be a problem. The VCP - DT require a good knowledge of the view...

-If I pass this will count as a real exam cert even if it is a beta version review or will I have to redo the real exam?

If you pass you get certification

  • Details of the review of the VCP

    Hi all

I have a question in the review of the secure Channel.

I have to be an experienced of the VCP. I need to attend the class and the VCP Exam.

Is it possible to take the test before attending the class. If possible means how long we take to complete the class (Min 2 or 3 months).

    Thank you best regards $,.

    knani V.

    Welcome to the community,

If possible means how long we take to complete the class (Min 2 or 3 months).

You can take the class as long as it is offered by VMware, so take your time.

Only VMware View training gives you the right to take the VCP exam?

has anyone seen an official statement reg VMware this?

No it's not. Only courses specific vSphere qualify for VCP4 certification:

  • Exam question-value of the point and unanswered questions about the VCP4 exam?

    Hello

I have a few questions about the scoring to secure Channel 4 review system:

    1. All the questions on the exam are weighted the same?

    2. Is there a penalty for unanswered questions?  In other words, is it better to not answer a question, if you are sure that you do not know the answer, or take a guess if it comes down to it?

    Thank you very much

    Bryan

Not responding not to an element, it is the same thing that answer wrongly as far as scoring is concerned, so it makes sense to guess rather than leave the question unanswered.

With respect to the weighting, all elements have the same weight in the VCP exam, but some items do not count against the overall score.  These "dosed" items continually change and are chosen at random.  We insert elements assayed to determine the validity of the element until it became a party has received from the real exam.  If however, you want to treat each item with an equal amount of importance.

    Hope this helps,

  • Just passed the VCP-310... Then to the top of VCP4

    Hello

I just passed the VCP-310 exam... Yippee...

Can someone give me some advice on VCP4? I'm looking to take this exam in the next 3 weeks. I hear you get two shots at it for the price of one! Is this true? Not that I intend it fails on the 1st attempt, but it's a nice safety net

Bravo on the VCP3. There is a free re - take for VCP4 until the end of 2009, and also as a VCP3, you can get your VCP4 by submitting to the examination (no training required) until the end of 2009.

My blog and the web site contains all the VCP4 info that I have on...

    Scott.

  • Passed the VCP-310 today: Challenging to say the least review

It took me about three months before feeling ready to book an exam with Pearson VIEW. I've never touched a VI3 product before but felt I couldn't miss this certification for my career.

The VCP - 310 exam is certainly more difficult that we tell CompTIA or Microsoft

One of the exhibition was not related to the subject of question (done on purpose!) It wasn't a matter of submission that I managed to reproduce the drawing of the part of the question with the stylus provided and wrapped in plastic of paper (the question was linked with the settings of firewall ports and the piece was bound to a schema pie of Resource Pool and actions).

I was stunned by some of the questions, I even though I spend time first review.

Review the answers in the end helped me to regain confidence, however.

The end result is a score of 93%.

Not only a practical knowledge of the underlying COMPUTER technology is required (Windows, Unix / Linux, Ethernet, TCP/IP, iSCSI SAN, FC, NFS, x 86 server hardware, troubleshooting, database connectivity, backup, high availability, disaster, continuity, permissions / roles...)

But a basic knowledge of other VMWare products are also required (server, workstation, player, Fusion, ACE, configuration of VMS and gOS...)

Hands on with the installation and set up Labs definitely helped me to build my confidence.

My advice is to start studying the tutorials install and configure VMware, and from there find information more specific related to VMware released a PDF file.

    All the best,

    Hi all

This is the first I heard talk about this issue, thank you for bringing it to our attention.  We will examine and address this deficiency.

    Kind regards

  • Ianyone of other ridiculous notice how the questions are about the certification exams?

I just took and failed the test of 11g upgrade.  I tried to upgrade my certification from 10g to 11g.  I did not test certification since 2005 so maybe I'm a bit out of touch, but a lot of questions they were absurd.  I studied for about two or three months for this test, which is a test upgrade, always had to cover a very wide range of knowledge.  Now, I understand that they do not want to make it easy on us, but some questions were right out of left field.  There are maybe 10 or 15 questions that were up as "If you have this parameter is set to true, then, what is the advantage?  I can manage completely questions like that and that's what I studied for, but when they ask questions where you need not only to know all the parameters and then also what that all total possible outcomes could be and then they ask you those more obscure, he just drives me crazy.  It also seemed that some answers were incorrect on a few. I know I'm ventilation here because I didn't, and I'm going to hit the books again and it resume (another $245, Ouch!), but be warned, if you have not taken a test in a certain time, you can not only take more time to study, but also to study what the results might be.  I had already purchased the study books, but I also buy the oracle practice test.  The press review of oracle that I bought had some practical issues on a cd, but they were not the same as what was in the actual trial.  Now I have to wait 14 days before I can take it again.  Well, back to the study.

    John:

It has no State specifically, but based on his post, guess (with all the dangers it) it's a 10 g OCP.  If so, the topics on 1Z0 - 034 are much broader than those that will encounter it on 1Z0 - 050.  This review would require the OP basically start over on his preparatory review process and to focus on a broader set of information. In many ways - this isn't a bad thing from the point of view of becoming a more experienced DBA.  However, after failing an examination, I wouldn't feel comfortable not him pointing to a second review which would have the same gross effect than the first, but who is bigger, longer and probably more difficult to pass.  He doesn't also know its results until sometime in March at best.

Questions give - they are the only aspect of the series that I cannot agree with enthusiasm. Certainly, the questions and the answers may not be identical to what is real, but similar review is not prohibited. The Q & A in each book certification give I used don't have anything like the "feel" even for them than those of the real exam.  That's what reviews STS/transcend do much better.  Their questions and their responses are formatted looks a lot like the real thing and have a similar difficulty level.  You said before (I think on OraFAQ) that you write the questions on automatic test for your books.  I suspect that the person who does never took Oracle exams.

  • including a 5 th or 4th generation with 16 GB laptop is ideal for the practice of the VCP at home.

    Dear all,

a 5th or 4th generation 16 GB laptop is the best for the practice of the VCP at home? 5th generation require more budget compared to the 4th generation.

the 4th or 5th generation what? Most recent means usually faster, but how much so depends on what material you are referring.

You should ideally 32 GB of RAM to run vSphere Virtual Lab 6.

  • Confusement of VCP cert requirement

    Hey all,.

My apologies for my first post being a little panic confuzzled.

In fact, I sat the VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [4.0] courses in January 2010

Tomorrow I do a What's New (version 5.0) two days on upward

and with my copy of the Official Guide to the VCP 5 Cerrtification wants to pass VCP 5 exam at the end of February.

However, one of my friends said that I can't become a VCP 5 that the course I did in 2010 was not the 4.1 one?

However, the Blue Print says that even if I didn't review for v4 too long I did an internship of 4, I can still do the whats new, review of the v5 v5 and so pick up a cert v5.

    http://communities.VMware.com/docs/doc-16726

Is this correct? Or I need to do more training and spend more ££ s£?

    Kind regards

    Nathaniel

Certifications are specific to the main version, so your combination of training will qualify you for VCP5-DV.

ICM on 4.0 or 4.1 is eligible for the DV VCP4

ICM 5.0 or 5.1 qualifies for the DV-VCP5

ICM on 4.0 or 4.1 and 5.0 or 5.1 WN qualifies for the DV-VCP5
