  • The LifeCam Cinema settings reset after a reboot of the system

I want to disable the auto focus and auto exposure, but when I turn it off, they turn their backs on the next reboot of the computer. It's a nuisance to turn them off whenever I turn on the computer. You know a way to disable them permanently, or implementing a feature to do this in the next update?

It is another question, perhaps in connection with prior approval. When I use the lifecam cinema with another device, it makes serious glitches on the image of the camera. The seeds of becomes more serious when I put my face on it, but not other objects. I think it's the face detection feature, lifecam cinema, it attempts to use the feature on the camera too. If you think I'm right, how can I turn off auto face detection function? By selecting 'no effect' on the 'Effects' tab is a not to disable :(

  • Windows 7 pro 64. The desktop icons won't stay where I put them. After a reboot, the desktop icons are always rearranged.

I've set up my office while I have the following icons down the left side of the top in the following order: computer, network, System (C), (D) options, reader of DVD (E), trash.

Whenever I restart my computer, the icons are rearranged as: computer, network, trash, reader of DVD (E), options (D), System (C).

I don't want to add all the new icons on the desktop, because I know they won't stay where I put them. When I was using XP it would happen only when I changed resolution but with Win 7, it happens every time that I reboot.

Reorganization of auto desk is off, snap to grid is turned off, sort by has verified. I use two monitors. All the gadgets that I have in my hand right 2ndary monitor are stay in place very well. The icons gives me the problem are on the left side of the left main screen.

I made an image of my hard drive just after the installation of windows 7 and before to install the drivers of manufacturers and updates of windows.

Today, I restored this image, reinstalled the drivers from manufacturers and made the updates of windows. The problem seems to have disappeared now.

I am re-imaging my hard drive after you install the complete driver/updating. I hope I don't need to use it, but I will if I have to. I still don't know what caused it in the first place, but at least now I have an option of fast food if it happens again. I'll recreate the image on the hard drive after all major software install from that time, I have two images. A fundamental right after pilot installations and one after each installation of software.

  • Create a Windows 7 user profile which resets after each reboot.

I want to configure a limited in Windows 7 user profile that performs the following steps after EACH restart or disconnection:

    • Reset the background / theme
    • Reset the desktop icons / shortcuts
    • Network mapped reset drives
    • Reset saved passwords
    • Delete the data stored since the last session
    • Remove newly installed applications / block the installation of the application
    • Reset the print queue to empty - if it was not already
    • Reset the default printer
    • Reset the homepage Internet Explore & settings
    • Reset the screen resolution

The idea is to create a profile for workstations in an office of the admin who works a bit like an internet café. They have a couple of shared workstations, a network printer, and they store the data on a file server and work on a local application server.

The current problem is that they constantly record their passwords, remove network drives and change the General configuration of work stations (by chance), which makes it difficult for other users to work - that they do not recognize the look & feel and now don't know where to do what.

I want to create a 'shared' user profile where they can log on, and everything looks familiar. All settings are saved as defaults and no matter what you do, as soon as you log out or restart, the parameters of return by default.

    I would appreciate help.

    Here are a few options:

    • Windows steady state (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/sharedaccess/default.mspx). The product is supported for Windows XP and Vista, but maybe it works for Windows 7 too. Or maybe there is an equivalent Windows 7 somewhere.

  • Windows running in the backup drive D: after system reboot

I rebooted my system yesterday and discovered that it had been done in the backup drive D which has only 1 g backup space. I can't do another reboot because there is no space in the drive.

My question is: A) how to get the operating system to run on the main C drive

    (B) I'll be able to remove the old operating system to drive D

    Dell XPS 1530

    Vista 32 bit

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

Delete older backups and free up space on the D drive.

To remove old backup files, under the backup of data files, click View backups.

You can then select the backups of files that you want to delete, which will free up disk space. Remove an entry in the list will not affect the other backups. If you think that you don't need one version of your files from a certain backup period, you can delete that backup. We recommend that you always keep the most recent backup.

  • Tablespace TEMP wash after system reboot

I have problem with tablespace TEMP blocked about 12 g. I does not change, no matter what is happening on the system.

I guess the TEMP tablespace is to store temporary data but, even after I database is arrested and put into service these 12 G are still there.

    Any idea?

    Linux x 86

This isn't a bug, but the expected behavior. Segments in temporary tablespaces are not erased, but ready to be crushed by the new temporary data. Only solution is set as temporary tablespace default and create a new temporary tablespace. Later, you can remove the old TEMP.

  • When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?

  • Some ESX4 configurations are lost after the reboot of the system

    Hi people,

I use ESX4 server for months.

Lately, after creating a few Pools of resources (RP) and the addition of virtual machines in the pool, I noticed that after rebooting my system, I lost all the Resource Pools, I created.

This problem of loss of configuration is not only limited to the RPs, I also lost some of the configurations of the network/portgroup after system reboot.

This problem is is produced as well when I entered "Maintenance mode" and then then rebooted the system;  and also when I typed the command "reboot" in the bash shell (I typed 'reboot' command 'sync' several times before typing.)

This problem becomes a kind of annoyance since I have to re-create the lost configuration each time that I reboot.

Is it possible to manually force the ESX4 to save the configuration for that I do not keep losing part of my configurations?

    Could someone please help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Danny

Really glad its sorted for you, as I said, I saw the question before at a customer's site and you will never know that the root is full, except if you look in the service console. It would be good to have this visible through the vi client, but in the meantime it just added monthly controls!

    Thank you

  • After 13 updated both the system rebooted and now as he begins to install XP it autorestarts. It will not recover to the last known good config and delivers a message of corrupted config file.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Frank

You will share exactly what the message of the corrupt config file says?  My crystal ball takes off the second Wednesday of each month.
If your system reboots continuously, the next time the system reboots, start tapping the F8 key until you see the menu Boot Options Advanced XP.  On the Advanced Boot Options menu, select:
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
This will display the error message that you don't see when the system restarts.  This is what Windows is supposed to do when there a failure - it is supposed to automatically restart.  The error you see on the screen has your clues...
If you do not see the menu Options start Advancded or you do not have to turn it off automatic restart on option system in the list of choices, you need to try again until you do.  Start typing the F8 key earlier and more frequently as your system begins to come alive.  If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again.
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)
    ?
Most of the time (in recent memory) when there is a problem after installing Microsoft updates, the problem is because the computer was somehow afflicted before/when updates have been installed and updates simply bring to the surface a problem that was not evident before.
If the last thing people remember is to install the updates from MS, it's am understandable reaction in some way involve updates for updating the post problems when things don't work properly afterwards and especially during the next reboot.
Another reaction is to try to remember all of the updates you have installed and somehow uninstall the updates one of the XP Recovery Console until you find one who is 'responsible '.  Unless you noted all issues of update, it would be more difficult, but not impossible.  It is unlikely that practical or useful advice in most situations, but you can of course try it.
Security updates sometimes holes patch XP and when security holes are patched (and XP is "tighter"), affliction can no longer do what is done, things to happen are no longer allowed to happen as a result of the strengthening of security, the system has now a new problem (especially when it initializes more) , and it seems that install updates broken system while in fact, it's just a coincidence.
Another thing that can happen is that the Microsoft updates will change or update certain critical files on the XP system.  Depending on what your software antivirus or antimalware software is, these programs can interpret the new or updated files to day as being a threat or somehow infected and quarantine (effectively delete) files it thinks are wary.
The next time you restart your system, you'll have some sort of a problem, or you do not start if the files are missing.  Once more, the problem is not with the updates, it's another condition on your system with your antivirus or antimalware programs you beautiful little (they could be aware of what like the new look of Microsoft files).
You may have seen some or heard talk about some of these kinds of people, but not too intellectually stimulating general or scenarios of error after update:
NTLDR is missing or corrupt, ntdetect.com is missing or damaged, ntoskrnl.exe is missing or damaged, hal.dll is missing or corrupt, etc.
These types of errors are usually very easy to fix, but if you don't know what's happening, the temptation is to do a repair installation, or if none of these kinds of things are really necessary, completely reinstall your XP.  I have never done a system restore, a repair install or reinstalled XP in my life to solve any problem (but I did the process for practice).  These things are simply not options with me.
Given that Microsoft sends many updates on the second Tuesday of each month (they call it "Patch Tuesday"), this means that the or to the second Wednesday of each month there is an increase of 'problems' in the field - in particular the types of problems "my computer does not start after you install the updates from Microsoft.  That day is also known as "exploit Wednesday".
You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_Tuesday
It is likely that if you have a problem like this or after the installation of MS updates, someone else has also had the same problem and understood what to do about it.  A problem here, is that no one knows what is your problem.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Folder permissions resets automatically after each reboot

    Hello

I have windows 7 x 64 user. There is a problem with google reader I need different from that of the default permissions for C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp. I changed the permissions in this way: make a right click-> Security-> advanced-> permissions-> change approval-> clicked on include... inherited permissions and replace the child object permissions... Also, the folder option, I changed the hidden folders. However, after each reboot, I see not hidden files (hidden folder option resets to do not show hidden file) and permissions for resetting folder above. What causes reset of the changed properties? I have no optimizer tool except ccleaner. I use mcafee antivirus. I think that mcafee is unlikely to cause this problem.
How can I solve this problem? I tried to make the batch file that runs boot, but I can't use option "inherit permissions". I give you the batch commands:
    ICACLS C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp /setowner directors
    ICACLS "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp" / grant everyone: F
But these commands do not work to change the permissions in the manner described above.
    Help, please. Really need help.
    ICACLS C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp /setowner directors

But these commands do not work to change the permissions in the manner described above.
    Help, please. Really need help.

There was a similar post last week which unfortunately has fizzed out (as do about 95% of all messages...).  Maybe you can gather enough energy not only to track down the source of your problem, but also post an answer here.

The following commands do not work:
    takeown /f "%Temp%" /.
    Cacls "%Temp%" / t/g everyone: F
    (answer Y to the prompt)
And Yes, I know cacls.exe is deprecated. But it still works!
