Thin client HP T610: use of RAMdisk

Hello

I played w / the size of the Ramdisk to see if help w / the speed of the TC @ opening and start-up, and it does not change the amount appearing on the system page for the 'installed memory (RAM),"which on of our w/4 GB RAM usable GB 2.49 watch T610. (I know that a 32 bit OS cannot access all 4 GB of RAM installed).

I put it to 16 MB and 512 MB and neither makes a difference in usable quantity listed.

So, if we max the RAM disk it can see what sort of RAM access OUTSIDE the operating system or the # usable does not reflect the actual quantity used by the operating system and the RAM disk?

FWIW, our T610 have the Apacer 16 GB MLC SATA Module, running Win7 built-in standard, 32-bit, you use an image from HP 16GB.

Thank you

TD

My understanding is that the RAM can be used by the operating system includes both the RAM drive.  In other words, increase or decrease the size of the RAM disk will not change the number of RAM can be used.   For Windows, the RAM used for the RAM disk is usable, it is only used as a RAM disk.  Things that affect the RAM can be used on Windows include factors such as the RAM used for UMA graphics card and the limits of the OS, as you said.

  • T610: thin client, multi-imaging platform

    Hi all

IV ' e hoping to put this in the right place and someone can help or point me in the right direction.

I'm looking for information on Thin Clients and Device Manager (HPDM), specifically on best practices on building and image capture, cross-platform and imaging would be advantageous.

I am currently using HPDM Imaging for my thin clients t5470 and t5470e, t610, t620.

I'm looking for a few docuemntation on recommended Configuration of HP for Imaging. is it to make a "gold" image or it can be pre-determined by HPDM like Microsofts SCCM or WDT?

It would be fantastic if I could get it down to a single Image of WES7 for most of my Thin Clients if possible.

    Thanks in advance.
    J

HPDM provides no functionality of creating an image, tt just do capture and deploy.

The factory image include all drivers are built by HP R & D WES, there should be no one who can help you, but as far as I know there is no document to save the steps in detail. I suggest that you raise a ticket to impact to HP for help.

MDT can not be used to deploy the image provided by HP. When building the image, no matter it is an original image or Thinupdate captured image, HP has done little customization in/after imaging process. I don't think that MDT can identify and carry out even these customizations.

  • Thin client based on Linux T610

    Bulletin Board Hello!

Just a few questions here I can't find via Google, manual and read other messages of the forum...

We are trying to use a t610 with the Linux-based operating system and are facing obstacles, a little...

I saw on the thin clients based on "Windows", after making a change to something, you have to 'Commit' changes...

Is it possible to do it on a Linux machine? It seems that the operating system partition is read-only?

Also, is it possible to navigate through the files and folders of this type of thin client?

I see the terminal in "Administrator" mode and I can't type-nav files and folders through the text editor, but I am a semi-perte to do things this way...

I know it of maybe a stupid question, but is there a way to recreate the image on this thin client to an OS based on "Windows"?

The main problem I encounter is an add-on/extension in firefox is not 'stick' in my firefox browser...

I installed the extension again and after I restart the browser, he is gone and my settings are back to "original"...

I take a guess here, but I guess whenever this customer "reboots" the start of an image?

One last question, is there of the "manuals" for those customers based on Linux?

I see most or all aid seems to aim at Windows and would like to just a reference...

    Thanks for reading!

If you're talking about the HP ThinPro OS-

Before you can make changes to the file system, you must run this command from the terminal - "fsunlock". When you are finished, 'fslock' locks the system files again. There isn't another tool file explore included I know in ThinPro. Command line and the Notepad tool are the only real ways to navigate through the file system. If you need help with something, don't forget, it's basically a lighter version of Ubuntu, with a few extra utilities and GUI provided by HP. The nuts and bolts are identical to a version of Ubuntu, so I took a bit of insight of Ubuntu forums online for the problems I've had.

Regarding your problem of browser extensions, depending on how you do this, you can configure connections to allow them to configure their own settings, or use HP ThinPro settings. If you've not allowed Firefox to create and use its own settings in the file system, nothing don't you change inside the browser will stick. I have not tried to install a browser extension, but I'm sure that this is your problem.

  • Opening of shutoff on Thin Client T610

    Greetings,

I was expecting to use a thin client T610 as a display remotely to a legacy system, but met a wall.  Every time that the application tries to send a display for the customer, the display does not open and the system hangs.

I reproduced the problem in my terminal window:

    > export DISPLAY = {IP_ADDRESS_HERE]: 0}

    > nedit

This translates the message: "Cannot Open Display".

I am able to SSH since the T610 to my server and if I send the display X (ssh - X), I have no problem, so I think currently it's a port blocked on the thin client. That being said, I can't find any way to unblock the port (6000?) or find an option that allows the customer to accept remote X applications.

Here is the information on my T610:

    OS level: T6X43202

    BIOS: K30 V 01.06

Does anyone have a suggestion on what could block the display? I have been through the T610 documentation and have not yet find resolution.

    Thank you.

Solved the problem. HP initscripts for the X server was by invoking the '-nolisten tcp' flag.  The flag and the restart of the thin client resolved the problem.

I thought that it was doable, but comment on...

    Anyway thanks in advance!

    Hi Padua,

I just threw a glance to discover compatibility matrix. A priori the couple discovers 5.x and Sun Ray 3i is well supportati ( http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=vdm and you're looking for Oracle as the partner name).

Then, you can find some info in the docs of Oracle (see Chapter 19):

  • Wyse Z90QQ7P thin client keep restarting

Customer light Wyse Z90QQ7P shows "short-term memory available" error message and to restart.

It retains this making each a few minutes after the restart.

I tried to use USB to recreate the image, but after press P initially upwards. She did not see the USB boot option

There are several reasons why you get out of memory error. The title of the error bar memory will tell you the culprit. If you run mΘmoire FBWF, you can take a look at all the programs installed. If you run RAMDisk memory, you can increase the RAMDisk. If you are short of memory system, you may need to add RAM to the thin client.

  • HPDM: HPDM can't see any of my thin clients

A few months ago, I set up a server HPDM on Win 2012r2 and light HP 12, mainly mt245 clients. I could see all the thin clients with HPDM, I even used it for the Image of each of them.

Yesterday, I went to add a new abd mt245 the image. All TCs went from HPDM and it does not find it again. I tried to walk to the beach. I tried to manually add as well as at the foot of the range of the exact IP that the TC has to say things. I ping the TC from the server and vice versa.

The Windows Firewall is turned off completely.

    Any thoughts?

  • Thin client HP t520: thin client HP t520 occultation

Recently, we purchased a few t520 Thin Clients and cannot be shadown using 4.6 SP4 HPDM.  We shadown t510, 5730 and 5740 devices regularly.  With devices t520, the task starts, send, process, and ends, but never opens the shadow session.

Good news - I got it working.

Devices t520 necessary an update of the Agent.  Once the Agent has been updated, and VNC enabled - I could also shadown.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Shado task does not connect to the Thin Client

Trying to hide a T520 on HPDM 4.6SP4 thin client, when I run the task of shadow, I retrieve a VNC connection on the server HPDM and not the thin client. T520 thin clients are ThinPro 5. This happens on the T510 Smart thin clients zero Core as well. I'm guessing there's a conf file that may have a value defined by mistake, but didn't find it.

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query on the Forum from the HP Support

Looks like you are facing difficulties regarding the task of the shadow copy in the HP Device Manager

1 shadow task uses the built in VNC server for the HP Device Manager software

    2. If you have installed a separate VNC software on the server of HPDM, there could be a conflict

    3. also please check under "services.msc" to find out how many services VNC running concurrently

    4. If you find that several services VNC please disable those who is not necessary

    5. Please goto Add / Remove programs and uninstall VNC Viewer is installed separately

  • Thin Client T5550: Central management program

Operating system: Microsoft Windows CE 6.0

Hello everyone. A few days ago, I asked a question on the HP Device Manager and the answer I got was that HPDM can't stand Windows CE 6.0.

And given that HP can't stand my thin client operating system, it is unnecessary for me to sit for hours to learn how to manage the HPDM.

    Question:

Are there other programs for central management AS HPDM can I use to manage my thin clients of?

    Best regards

    Linus.

In terms of Thin Client, HPDM is the single management tool published by HP.

In your case, are all of your thin clients running with Windows CE? If so, you can use the old version of HPDM (4.4.3) who fully support this.

If your thinclients are with different operating systems, it is best to contact the special support team.

  • Thin Client HP T510 printer questions

So we have thin clients. We have a local default printer installed for the administrator who "invades" on the "Default user" profile (which is great, that's what must happen) when we try to install a network printer:

    1. We disable the write filter
    2. We disable the security for the user
    3. We install the printer network under the user's profile
    4. We invited domain administrator credentials.
    5. We enter the identification information and properly install/test the printer
    6. We restart and allow the connection of the user (automatic)
    7. The printer is there, but it says "access denied, unable to connect."

    Key information:

    1. These thin clients MUST have locally installed printers
    2. These thin clients are not on the field, they are the default WORKGROUP

This seems like it should be easy to make it work, but I can't seem to find a solution and I have worked on it for over a week now. Thanks in advance.

    Solution:

Put printer driver software on USB stick and install locally via the setup.exe.  Do not use the software in windows, for some reson he has a problem with striking pilots from the network.  Running the driver software installation file locally worked like a champ.

  • HP t5570e thin client

XenApp 6.5 HP t5570e thin client runtime environment. Thin Clients are running WES7 and connected to a domain. I am unable to get the EWF or FBWF configured to remind the end user to the connected computer. If someone has done this? Is there a way I can commit the overlay when logged in as a user? I'm open to suggestions. Users are tired of having to enter the domain/username every time that they connect.

  • Thin client HP 5740e: HELP! Expired password and should be changed but access denied when you try to do

    Hello

I have a thin client HP 5740e and for some reason any local user account requires a password change.  Yet, when I try to change the password it says access denied.  And yet, I can't it to allow me to move to another counts as administrator to open a session.  I held down the SHIFT key during startup, but it always goes straight to this local user account & the expired password prompt. I'm stuck in an infinite loop and do not know how to cope.  Safe mode puts me in the same situation.  And I can't update the BIOS because I can't have everything.

OS = Windows Embedded Standard 7

I also tried to reinstall the last image of the HP Web site using a USB key, but it fails every time. I tried 2 different USB drives with the same exact error no each.

Image, try to install = SP56020

ERROR: An unexpected condition has occurred

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

I finally could get as an administrator using RDP to my office.  I didn't know the name of thin client lacked a figure, that's why I've been unsuccessful before that.

Once I got away, I could watch the local user account permissions.  Now I see what was wrong.

[Check]      The user cannot change password

    [Disabled] Password never expires

I still don't know why I couldn't install a new image of the plant, but at least I am now able to work with this device.  I also disabled the automatic connection at the moment.
