ThinkPad T410 boots only if the power supply is plugged

Hello

I have a really strange bug. My thinkpad T410 (2537-UQF) with an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD boots only if the power supply is connected. If I have a full battery, and try to boot without the power I get a blue screen after about 60 seconds on the screen where the windows logo appears. I have Windows 7 installed fresh a few days ago.

I think its possible, I've done a few failure with drivers. The power management ThinkPad always stops working after startup. So I deleted the program using the feature "msconfig".

I'm not really sure what I can do about it. Any idea?

Thanks for any answers in advance & regards

Rain

OK I solved the problem:

The workaround is to set to battery power settings in the BIOS to auto. If the power in the Bios settings are on maximum battery life, the system does not start if you use the SSD OCZ Vertex 3.

Hope this helps everyone who has the same problem. I need 4 days to understand this.

Greetings, rain

    Hello

The laptop must also lights up if the battery is not inserted.
If the adapter is ok and if it s connected to the laptop, then the power led should be lit and it should light up.
This led indicates that AC adapter provides power to the laptop properly.

But if the LED turns OFF then that would mean that there is no power, and in this case the laptop will not turn on.

    Hello, Robert

If you see the start page, you will see that this support forum is not a type of support Toshiba directly but forum users. But you're not alone and many users expect that a Toshiba support team sit in the office and before writing the answers.

In any case, there are many users of Toshiba laptops with very good knowledge and also amateurs who are trying to help the other guys in different problems and also to share own experience.

Professionalism is not the forum but action when you need help because of physical damage or something similar. If you need assistance and competent answers each authorized partner must be able to provide the info you need. But please don t mixture and Toshiba service partner because it is not the same.

In any case, I found the info you can use additional (second battery expansion) and it takes batteries with PA3510U-1BAL, PA3510U-1BRL room numbers. I can't tell you how much it costs, but you will find only using Google.

Back to your first question: if I understand you just want to save more power and because of this, you want to sign out ODD. It's a nice idea, but you have clearly misunderstood something. "Safely Remove Hardware option is there to help the operating system and and say this material, a part will be removed and don t exist anymore, but it does not physically the disconnection of any other material."

If you need more power use a second battery and enjoy your life.

If you have any other questions you are welcome. A lot of users here M400 and I hope in the future that some of them will participate in a little more.

    Good day! :)

  • Satellite A30 213: broken in the power supply pin

I have so many problems with this.
I'd rather put it in the trash than to fix it, but unfortunately I have important documents that I have not saved.

Basically, the PIN into the Jack of the laptop is broken and I can't be able to my laptop and my battery is running out of power

    The battery is in the battery-compatible A30 - 213 in the A30 714?

    And someone has other solutions?

Please answer as soon as possible

    Hello

First of all a few words about the battery.
If I m not wrong not the Satellite A30 213 uses the same battery as the A30-714.
Therefore, you should be able to use the same battery in both units A30.

With regard to the question on another solution.
Well, there is only one real solution. The power supply needs to be replaced.
I m not sure if it s only plugged or soldered on the map. However, I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
This should be always replaced by a mobile technician because the dismantling procedure is very delicate and difficult.

    Best regards and good luck

  • Satellite L750 slows after plugging in the power supply

    Hello everyone

    It's almost a year since I have TOSHIBA L750-12 model q PSK2YE-05P00RPL.
Since the beginning, I noticed strange shares: when the battery becomes low at 10% and I plug the power supply everything starts to work slowly (for example I can see frames when using the webcam)
also, web sites load very slowly or not at all. It's doing my work on laptop almost impossible.
When this problem occurs, there are a few bugs in Event Viewer:

    Event 37, kernel-processor-Power
"The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report. »

I thought it was the power supply problem or motherboard to power so I sent the laptop to the service. Technical support only changed the BIOS to version 3.60 [there is not an another atm version] and he has not solved anything.
I searched the internet and I found that this failure can occur because of the Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology option, but unfortunately I can not disable it in the BIOS.

I read that there was problem simillar with for example Portege R835-P84 and new BIOS helped and solved this.

    Please help :(

    PS Sorry for my English.

I also imagine that new and modified BIOS can help with this, but if Toshiba doesn't offer it there is nothing you can do, especially with the SpeedStep technology options.

Maybe stupid question now, but when you connect the battery change the plan power high performance is a laptop s performance difference?

  • Replace the power supply, computer does not turn on

I had a Seasonic SS 560 KM power supply for my HP Pav e9280t.  I removed the old power supply while keeping the power cable is plugged in.  Then replaced each power cables one at a time in the new power supply and finally he attached to the tower.

Now when I try to turn on your computer, it just boots barely upward.  I can hear the fans kick on for a second or two, then everything just stops.

Since I replaced the cables one at a time I don't think I missed anything; MoBo, Fan of MoBo, 1 optical drive, disk HARD 2 and 1GPU.  The tower is open and I can see the fan, the fan GPU MoBo and PSU fan all hang on one second so that they get the right power?

I must have missed something or possibly faulty PSU?  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Chadow86, it is possible to the new power supply may be faulty. I would check double all the connectors again.

Since you mentioned the fan to the motherboard, it would not be necessary to unplug the CPU fan when you changed the power supply. The CPU fan power source comes from the motherboard and not directly from the power supply. I don't know what fan on the motherboard you are talking about.

I watched the specifications and photos of the new power supply. It is a modular design. I would check the cables connected to the power supply to make sure that they are in the correct connectors.

If the system still does not start, the cause could be a new power supply faulty.

    I hope this helps.

  • Propeller works only with external power supply

    Hello

Just got my Helix and I have some published, one of the biggest problem so far is that it will only fuel upward and stay on with external power supply, when I dock this works very well, if I disconnect it it stops, if I plug the power supply into the Tablet light it up, but as soon as I remove the power cord it will turn off I checked and the batteries are charged, any advice at 100%?

    Thank you

Thanks for the reply, I called Lenovo technical support and they thought it was the motherboard, technology has changed and he made similarly he suspected a defective battery, it replaces and it works fine now, so it was a defective battery on the Tablet, was not getting charged, Lenovo technical support was great, fast and very apologetic the laptop so far, thank you for all the help that love.

  • loose connection to the power supply

I have a HP Pavilion e043cl 15 Notebook PC with name of the model E5K58UA I bought August 2013.  My best friend bought the same brand/model from the same place 2 weeks before me.  We BOTH have had this same problem almost from the beginning.  Speaking for mine... it became worst Crescent until I don't know if it will load OR start the next time I try to turn it on.  I have "glued it" the only way he will now.  It changes almost every day, so I have to move it and the re - paste.  We feel that it was a problem of hardware design for almost that we bought them.  Unfortunately, none of us buy the extended warranty.  It was mainly in the part that we bought at Costco with my Costco AmEx that allow you to add an extra year warranty and apparently are not now. I have done some research and think that it is the connection to the computer.  Can anyone confirm that, and if so, where would you recommend that I buy a replacement?  I don't want to spend a ton of money given these were $399 new.  I am sure that I am able to fix as well.  I also wanted it to go on the record it seems be a VERY common problem which should NOT happen on a laptop this quickly.  None of us carry these computers around with us on a daily or even weekly.  It seems quite ridiculous to deal with this problem already.  I got a DELL computer for 7 years.  I had to replace the entire power cord, but the connection port was never a problem.  This seems put together much cheaper.  I feel HP should replace the port free of charge, just don't expect that this will happen.  A consultant where I can get the spare part required at a reasonable price would be greatly appreciated.  I have confidence in particular a HP original spare part because those original seems not be made good in the first place.  Thank you very much!

There is no parts but HP parts. The power supply is on a dongle that plugs into the motherboard. They don't directly solder it on the map more.

    It is the repair:

    Manual

    It is the part:

  • Pavillion G7 1263-nr: HP Pavillion G7 led beside the power supply plug flashes 3 times... does not illuminate?

Unit does not illuminate. When the Start button / stop is pressed with power cord only or with the battery and the power cord or battery only I get 3 flashes of the white LED on the side of the unit next to the power supply.

I replaced the receiver taken power in the change of unit No.....

I used an other (workin) power cord and adapter... no change.

I tried another battery (work)... no change.

I pulled the two memory chips don't... no change.

I put the two don't chip memory in one at a time... no change!

I'm out of solutions short of replacement motherboard which is not profitable unless I want to take a chance on a reduced opportunity to the Board of Directors.

Only the indication of all this work are three white flashes of LED is located just next to which DC adapter/cable plugs?

Any other suggestions/diagnosis would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

I had to contact HP and according to them the power port led flashes 3 times after pressing the power on button, indicates a failure of the motherboard and requires a replacement.

the second problem is that the left mouse botton does not work, the work aside right very well. I went in the proprties to put it right, click on to, but who does not work either. I've updated the drivers but still nothing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • Replace the power supply in a Studio Slim s 540

Hi, I bought a 540 s Slim of Studio in November 2009 and now I've decided I want to make games a bit. However, it runs a little hot, and there is not enough energy for a new card. I think I have a power supply that is 300w.

I was watching a GTX 460 or ATI 5850. The 5850 is probably too much for the case. So I thought to replace the case by something simple but effective. I like this:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16811119137&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&aid=10521304&PID=3136390&SID=

This case should be quite good, with the addition of a fan or two perhaps.

Now to my next problem. I keep everything in the Studio Slim to the stock, the Quad Core, 6 GB of ram, etc. The only thing that changes is the power supply and graphics card. However, I've heard Dell Mobos/PSU are owners and making it difficult to replace PSU. I have need around a block power 400w-500w. What is compatible with the dell motherboard chipset? Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Some of my features, if it helps:

    Motherboard: Dell 0M017G A00 P45/P43 chipset
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
RAM: Twin 400 mhz (DRAM frequency) 6 GB DDR2 memory
HARD drive: Western Digital 7200 RPM 32 MB Caviar Black

PSU: bed 10A 125v so I think that its to 300w?

    deuce985

The Studio 540 Slim has a 250w power supply.

The power supply is a standard ATX format, but due to the constraints of the 540 Slimline case, it is a unit of owner of Dell, due to its shape, size, and the wiring harness.

If the motherboard has been installed in a box ATX Mini/Mid Tower standard, more generic standard ATX power supplies can be associated, either a 24-pin or 20 + 4 pin main card mother power connector, with or without the on/off switch.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

Note: You need a diet with four SATA power connectors.

  • I changed the power supply on HP Media Center m470n, because he wouldn't come, it will not

the computer would not come, he ran but quit, I changed the power supply, but it will always fuel not at all, no fans no lights.

    Be, welcome to the forum.

Because the computer is more than 8 years old, it is difficult to say which component has failed.  Open the box and give it a thorough cleaning.  Then, make sure that all components are installed and the power supply cord is free of defects.  Here's a guide for boot-up/shutdown/power problems.  Try what they say see if anyone of them help.

Frankly, it may simply be time to buy a new computer.  You'd be amazed at how one faster cheaper computers will be.  Here is a that would be great just as configured.  It has a processor AMD Quad-Core (2.7 GHz), 6 GB of memory and the OS Win 7 64 bit.  You can buy a monitor, too.

  • Inspiron 531 does not completely start upward after replacing the power supply?

Hey people. This Inspiron 531 since 2007 and he has been a champion for me. In the past months, the power supply fan start getting real loud (intermittently) so I finally looked around and found the same feed Integrator Delta on ebay. Put him in this afternoon very carefully, but while doing the 'blue' cable hard drive that connects to the motherboard is out the motherboard. There are two connections on the motherboard, SATA 0 and SATA 3. I have no idea who it was so I tried it reconnection to SATA 0 (which was blue too) and all turned on. There, I sat on the DELL screen and no full boot. Shut down and tried the SATA 3 connector and basically the same thing has happened although there was some funky boss on the lower part of the screen and still no full boot.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

Updated - I should also mention this power connectors P4 and P7 were not used until I swapped out.

And also when I try and start I get the DELL screen that shows the F2 and F12 Boot Menu on the top right of the screen.

    jodeluxe

The primary C: / SATA HDD, is connected to SATA 0 connector motherboard.

Are the P1 24 pins and power connectors 4 pin P2, connected to the motherboard?

Have you tried to remove and reinstall all the memory modules and the power data cables in front and all the readers and motherboard, to see if that makes a difference.

Check the power LED button reading, is stable blue, flashing blue, Orange fixed, blinking Amber?

Are there any 'beep', if there is, please publish the sequence of them?
